It’s Done! - March 28, 2024 @goldenoakfarm

Where paper goes crop March 2024.jpg

On Thursday I got up late and got my post up and chores done. Then I tackled the paper mess. I HAD to finish it because I wouldn’t have time or energy on Friday, and Saturday this big white armoire had to be turned 90° to face the fire. That would give me room to put shelving and lights in front of the office door. All the paper is stored in the armoire.

I had a lot of Martha Stewart Living magazines that I wanted to go through for things to cut out and keep, like recipes and decorating ideas. So I spent the morning on that and got it done.

After a couple long conversations on the phone and lunch, I got the stuff all filed away where it belongs.

Of course, the job had to be thoroughly inspected.

But getting down was a problem and he managed to knock things out of the cabinet and twist the tablecloth around.

But in the end we both finished our jobs. That will teach me to leave it for years!

I had also made calls to the mulch company for wood chips for the gardens and to our firewood guy. It’s been wet enough he’s not been able to get into the woods much since November. He’s supposed to have a load of dry old oak coming in, but it hasn’t been able to be delivered due to rain. He says he hopes he has it by the end of April so I can get it in the shed.

My brother and I had decided on a ground pork stirfry with lots of broccoli, onions, garlic, fresh ginger, water chestnuts, and carrots. We cooked up a lot of skinny rice noodles too.

He’d gotten a bunch of kale and I had a box of frozen snow peas that went in last with the noodles. Good thing it’s a big wok!

He also used sesame oil, olive oil, tamari, and a Japanese BBQ sauce to season it. It was sooo good!

It rained all day and was still raining when I went up to do chores in the evening. I got the stoves started and was in bed early.

Friday is exercise class and if I have the energy, I have to clean up the kitchen. The there’s a Young People’s Chorus coming to the Senior Center in the afternoon. Rain in the morning then finally stopping by afternoon.

Very productive day! The dinner looks great! But the wok seems a bit too small. That’s a lot of vegetables! Very healthy dinner!

Mmm. That food looks delicious! I hope you really enjoyed your Friday.

You and your brother must be good cooks. You have always shared foods that are looking so yummy with us here
Keep it up!

I love all these vegetables on your plate and I love noodles too.

My brother likes lots of vegs in his stir fry. So we try to think of all kinds to put in.

Well done... The papers are better off in the armoire.
What's cooking? Hmm really good I can perceive the aroma of the pork stir fry sauce with plenty of fresh carrots 🥕, onions, garlic, water chestnuts and broccoli. I so much love this wonderful combination, thanks for sharing with us

You really did a great job and glad to see that you are finally able to complete the work
