Who am I really?

Hey my busy bees!! What's buzzin?

Well I guess we start from scratch again. Guess who's back, back again? Like a ghost Ladybug146 is back as ladyrainbow. Is there anyone I know even left out here? Been a while! What happened? Well ya'll messed with the sign-up and I never could get back into my account again, dear Lord did I ever try but I was too stupid to figure it out, maybe someday I'll become friends with technology...doubtful but one can dream right?

After a few years, is this a new and improved version of ladybug? NOPE! Still the same bad self always looking for a good pile of dust to disturb as I take on this boxing match called life fist & head first always willing to fall flat on my face for a good experience. Don't worry, I didn't completely waste my time, I continued my photography and with an added bonus, I took the time to catch up on my own reading on various topics to broaden my horizon and the hopes to make something useful out of my brain...Someday...Some wise old dude once said "When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new.” -Dalai Lama. I thought I might give his advice a try.

I'm sure after a few years, it must be a complete turn over of peeps and many new faces must have sprouted up like greens during spring time in the Rockies, along with those who have long forgotten my existence so an (re)introduction is in order with my new account.

Lake Agnes, (Lake Louise area)

Fore those who don't know me, I'm from Alberta Canada and I use this as my public diary of whatever fluff and nonsense that goes thru my head at the time of writing, good or bad, it always comes from the heart and soul. I like to hike thru the Canadian Rockies and report back on my experience and plan on continuing on that trend. I enjoy different photography style from landscape, animals, plants, various wildlife along with food and other more culture oriented topics I encounter. I have been on my photography journey for over a decade, not professionally but as a hobby.

I used to do some light personal finance tips for preparedness, improve spending habits and precious metals or analyze the current climate of the topic, non-officially obviously just personal views. I may or may not choose to keep dabbling in these types of topics from time to time in the future.

This time around, I would like to put all my book reading to good use and provide a few reviews or interesting tittles on the various topics I have learned about while I was locked out of my other account. I must warn you, my reading selection might be a little eclectic at times...Don't judge too harshly!!! I feel guilty keeping all these good reads to myself.

Outside of my photo's and online nonsense, I do have a real job, a mundane one like the rest of civilization. I wish it wasn't so but I didn't win the lottery yet and crypto prices are saying: No Lambo yet...Perhaps a skill I must improve on in the future!! Haha. What is my occupation? I am a welder by trade and work as a boilermaker. I know ya'll read bla bla wha? I build and repair powerplants, oil refineries, fertilizer plants and whatever else creates pressurized steam. The organization I work thru is responsible for inventing the steam engine long ago that help revolutionize the world into what we see today. I'm a contract floater so I roam to different sites across Alberta when required and get to see the inner workings of many different beasts throughout the year.

This unstable work strategy gives me the time and $$ to do whatever I want for part of the year once I'm done with the hustle but I tend to not write consistently because it is time consuming to work and write in the same timeframe. Obviously, this is a male dominated field so I get to progress the "women's rights" movement in predominantly male environments. Did I mention I like to kick up piles of dust? This is more like kicking a hornet's nest somedays lol. I wasn't the first but certainly one of the early path builders as I celebrate 15 years officially (by their standards more like 16 yrs) this year, I was quite young when I started. I just made myself feel old suddenly (I will be 40 this year). I blame my grey hairs on my work dudes! The job is dirty but the money is clean, might as well take it if they are handing it out.

As far as home life, that's pretty quiet, I have a significant other of 12 years along with 2 cat-children, they are getting old too but still cute little fluffballs. Other strange hobby, supporting one of my work brothers in his pro boxing quest by showing up, he sweetens the pot with a press pass so I get the best seat in the house and practice a new venture, sports photography. I never thought I would appreciate contact sports this much given I'm more of a pacifist but I have discovered it's a true work of art in a close knit community just the same. I don't enjoy sports on tv too much but live is a whole new world, especially ringside.

I live in a major city so access to large venues and other sports and teams along with some of the greatest bands live is easy enough with a hefty price tag tho so I'm limited on those and I can't take my semi-pro camera with me but cellphone photography still mostly does the trick, I must admit, that's a whole different set of skills. The C-word did put a dent in my concert going, it's been a minute since I've been to a great show to report on, I still plan on continuing that in the future, it does make for really cool photos.

What's in a name? Why ladyrainbow? well it's quite simple and a really odd story I may elaborate someday when I'm ready, for now long story short: I was in the Rockies and I had some really weird and extraordinary rainbow encounter that my mind still can't really do the mental gymnastics required to fully comprehend WTF but I did end up driving thru one of these rainbows. YES I TOUCHED THE RAINBOW in a literal sense and it was one of the coolest thing I ever experienced. Seeing myself and my surroundings in some of the different colors. It took the whole road...I looked for a pot of gold but the leprechauns got to it before I did. Lucky dwarfs. Science says it's impossible to be a rainbow as they are an optical illusion so I dunno...it happened how is beyond me. I guess science doesn't know everything after all. Kissed by the rainbow, still blows my mind to this day.
