The new Weiss rating report came out last night while I was sleeping.
I read the report this morning and most rated cryptocurrencies have gone down in rating.
From the report:
But don’t let the them throw you. The downgrades are due mostly to this week’s sudden plunge in nearly all cryptocurrencies, which naturally hit our Reward and Risk Index scores negatively.
STEEM is sill a B- which is great!
It's one of 4 B's mentioned in the rapport. (Cardano, Ethereum, NEO, STEEM)
SBD is trading higher than STEEM again.
I must admit this has been a little unexpected for me but this is crypto so it can happen.

Remember that an SBD is basically an IOU for 1 US dollar worth of STEEM.
So the fact that anyone would pay more than 1 US dollar for this IOU is strange but I don't complain.
I think a high SBD price is great for every Steemian that creates content on here.
I bought STEEM with my SBD, I also sold some and I'm keeping some to see how this develops.

I think higher value of steem is more important in determining the amount of rewards an author gets as it determines the payout value of a post but I don't mind high sbd prices as well.
Correct. A higher STEEM price makes the $ value next to the post go up. With the changes to the UI it's now also easy to see that with a higher STEEM price more SBD's are created.

But when SBD is high in usd ==> my vote worth less in SBD ( 0,98 SBD) !!

Has nothing to do with SBD. It’s calculated based on the Steem price.

The fluctuation is minor compare to the other coins.

It's interesting to see the SBD price rising about the STEEM price. I think it looks like a bullish sign for STEEM! With regards to the payouts, I'm still confused how it's calculated. There was a new payout feature that I wrote about today. This update made payouts more transparent, but the math still doesn't add up. If you have some time check out the article. Being a senior steemian I would like to get a valuable suggestion from you, should I use my SBD for power up on present price or wait for some time
Power up is best when you spend tons of time investing back into the platform. But it also takes longer to get the money out to create a more stable platform. With Bitcoin we wait and hold. With Steemit we invest and engage and become active in the community to get the best return on investment. Remember that Steem Dollar may fall down to 1 dollar again.

If you want to power-up I would do it gradually over time. Short term SBD price can fluctuated heavily. So buy STEEM everyday with SBD to buy average in.

I have also sold most of my Sbd for Steem 2 days ago but after seeing today price i little regret my decision but it's Crypto so anything can happen and i want to be in safe side that's why it is good to have Steem instead of Sbd.
The price is still jumping up and down, Let's see where it will be stable again.

I know they have to stick to their rating methods etc but lowering a rating just because something becomes a bit cheaper seems silly. If anything the should put it up because it represents better value for money!

When the steem blockchain grows in the future (SMT's) I foresee a much smaller roll for the steemit website than it is now.

Yes that what I notice today SBD higher than Steem again , so this another opportunity to convert SBD to STEEM
Awesome chance to level up that influence! 1.1 conversion way better than 0.8 it was around for quite some time. I hope it goes up to 1.3 again which is the best I have seen so far! Looks like 2018 will be a very exciting year for early adopters on Steemit.
around xmas it got to 5 to 1 which is why the witnesses stepped in to manipulate it back down !

I personally think the sbd rising above the price of steem is due to a psychological effect on the traders because of its name. Steem backed dollars has that familiar word 'dollar' in it's name which I guess must be reassuring to some investors. Just my thoughts, either way, best to keep hold of a bit of both :-)

Yea @exyle, for us who create contents here , I think the rise of sbd is our basic compensation for great work being put out on display. If sbd goes very low and steem very high, it's going to discourage lots of people from creating contents and this platform will now become like every other blockchain where you just invest and get returns and trust me poeple like me who don't have money to invest will start leaving steemit. So I think sbd and steem should rise but at closely equall proportion so that everyone smiles at the end of the day.
I also was able to buy steem with some of my sbd hoping to see what becomes of stemlem in the future and that's my little investment
Actually if SBD goes down it's better for people that work hard since there will be less competition. When SBD goes up usually we can see greed increase. It's a long term platform! Even if some people leave it doesn't matter. You have tons of people from countries with low income that will flock to Steemit. That will see it as a blessing. There will always come new people! People that do little investments will see little returns.
