I've bought an Accu-Chek instant blood checker so I can see what's happen with my Diabetes. Since my diagnosed in December last year I've been trying to loose weight so I can put my Diabetes into remission. I've lost around 9lb since I've find out but needed something to see I am doing the right thing. I went into town with hubby to buy this from our local pharmacy.

Taken from Google.

Its took me a few hours to get it set up, I've made a silly blunder by inserting the lancets (the needle) I set it up moved the dial on the finger pricker then stupidly removed the lancet without using any of the 4 enclosed needles, they can't be removed then reinserted, I had to insert and new pack wasting the first one. I now have to order a pack from amazon that holds 204 lancets.

The sales assistant told me that this connects with the My Sugar app which will save all the readings for me. It connects via Bluetooth, I had to search online how to do it as the information given with the pack didn't give enough directions, once I saw the video online I was connected within seconds.

My first reading was 7.5 which isn't too bad, the ratio is 5.6 to 6.9 is prediabetes 7mm or higher is Diabetes. I'm happy where I am at the minute as its easy to see how I am doing plus I don't think I'm too far away to be in remission along as I stay in remission. I'm due to get weighed again in the morning, fingers crossed for a bigger loss.

I am reading all the ingredients as I buy them. My biggest fail is cake so staying away from it is a must at the minute, I thought today I haven't had any for a while (I usually treat myself once a week) I a 2 pack of one of my favourite cakes Belgian buns, A currant filled swirl cake roll covered with icing plus a half a cherry on the top, I thankfully thought before buying it and liked at the ingredients, the sugar percentage was 38, I went be buying them again. Sugars are everywhere, I have to becareful with everything I eat until I get more knowledge about the disease and what I can eat. So for the moment sugar is banned.

Thank you for visiting. πŸ’ŸπŸ’Ÿ

A friend told me that her daughter, who is diabetic, uses a glucose meter by sensor, she told me that it is great because she does not have to prick herself several times a day and it gives you the glucose measurement during 24 hours, but the sensor expires after 14 days and it is a little expensive, the truth is that I did not know about this technology, it seems to me that it is very good for children who are less careful with these things.

Hi. I've seen them advertised, I think they are expensive to use, they certainly look the easiest and most convenient to use. From what I've chosen the cheaper one, maybe when I'm rich I'll try the sensors πŸ˜„
