It's free if you want it, dude?
My mate Nedpool said to me on the phone during an impromptu call.
As with all impromptu calls, I had figuratively shit the bed at talking to someone for real rather than through the medium of a keyboard but fortunately that passed quickly.
Nedpool had called me to ask if I was still on holiday from work and when I replied that I was had offered the use of his caravan up at the side of some loch or other.
Well, you want it?
Nedpool asked as casually as a Frenchman's moustache.
Aye, fuck it. Go on then.
This will make me champion of the world to the family, I thought.
After some key dropping shenanigans I told The Booms that we were heading up to a caravan for a few days near some random loch. They were super excited.
Can we swim in the loch?
Asked the Little Lady with breathless anticipation.
If you don't mind swimming in hypothermicly cold fish shit and algae, sure. That will be fine. I could have said but I didn't want to burst her bubble.
Yeah, of course!
Can we take a boat out on the loch?
Asked the Little Boom his eyes gleaming with the thought of us doing something Octonaut'y on the high seas.
Oh aye, dude.
It was settled. The next day we saddled up the old steed and set off to my mate's mysterious caravan on the loch...
I followed the satnav to our destination. For once it decided not to fuck with my head and just took me where I wanted to go instead of where it thought would be hilarious to send me.
I turned the car into the site of the caravan and pulled up in horror.
What the actual fuck? That's not a caravan? That's a trailer? I looked around at the other 'caravans' - they were all the same, trailers...
This whole place was a trailer park!?
Shit? What did that make me? What did that make us? Would we have to wear halter neck tops and sit on dungaree clad men's laps?
What even is a halter neck top?
Would I have to change my name to Sandra and get pregnant? Oh Christ, that would be awful. I don't even like my own jizzum let alone anyone else's!?
Would I have to set up a still and start making Hooch? I like hooch even less than I liked jizzum.
I sighed, oh well. Let us see what the week brings.
We piled out of the car and the kids ran around screaming for a while. It might have been excitement or horror, I wasn't sure.
I spotted a little shop nearby the trailer. No doubt it sold halter necked tops.
Back in a mo, going to check out the shop.
I called to the family who were buzzing around the trailer looking for a spot to set up the still.
Inside the shop was a horde of tourist tat and overpriced foodstuffs. I spied a fridge at the back. Maybe they would have some quality beers?
They didn't. Instead something horrid lurked there taunting me.
Oh well, at least if I was to become a halter neck top wearing, hooch drinking trailer park dawg I would have some grey sloppy porridge to keep me fueled up for the journey.
No, not jizzum. I told you I hate that stuff. The next best thing...
Hello you.
Off adventuring are ye? Good!
Hey ho... judgy fucker. Some of the best things come from trailer parks. You didn't know this one?
Happy Monday, M!
I'm busy rebuilding and gaining stamina.
Brace yerself 😏 ❤️

How ma'am!!
Hehe, I aint judging. It was a fab thing. We all loved it and it was good to be closer to outdoors which I always love.
Always braced for the good stuff me!! Hope you are good!
I have had a caravan, although not a static one... still, it was a lot of fun, and could go so many places not possible with three kids. The kids loved it and it was always an adventure for them. As someone who has owned one and still thinks it can be fun, your friend may be willing to rent it to you as opposed to buying one. Over here, the prices have nearly doubled from what they were... They got a lot of use during COVID... they predict the prices will drop because now there will be a glut of them on the market... We will see.
I like the one you are in, the nice patio and water for the kids. I will bet the kids have loved it!
And look! Even Huel!! Nobody has to cook!
Price +tax + insurance + rent on-site + utilities + I had to pay for storage of the vehicle, wasn't allowed to park it on the street or in my yard.. plus more!
Still, you can't put a price on fun! :)
Yeah, I think the price would mount up from a starting point. I reckon I will still check out how much. It is lots of fun and the kids love it. What price fun eh!
I think he would give us a loan of our foot free quite often but I would get embarrassed asking I think!
I might buy him some huel as a thank you 😀😀
I looked at the prices!! Hold on to your hat!
Offer to rent it if the prices are high! It will give him a little extra !
Huel is a great gift! Lol

Huel is a great gift! Lol
Haha, I well he happy if the prices are terribly high. It will disguise me of any buying one notion!!
It will scare you straight. :)
It scared me. I am not even going into the sales office now. I looked in the window where they had various options and though, fuck that!
Just think! That is what they are willing to show you. It is all the hidden costs that will choke you. Covid really gave the prices a boost. Just wait until the prices the bottom and then buy one. They keep saying the prices are going down as the demand does. Too many on the market. I can wait out the year and see what it brings.
I agree though. No way, Jose!
I know the feeling, lost for words me most of the time..
Note: Caravans and halter necks generally go together - didn't know that.. Thank you!
Huel for fuel? Strawberries & Cream 🤣 The stuff they come up with.. Brilliant! 🤣
Everything used to be by phone and now I'm like all awkward at talking to people in it. Madness!!
Huel is terrible stuff but I must say, they seem to have their marketing right!
Ahahahah ,This is what happens when you receive a fortuitous call, the sad thing is the children were very excited
Yes, sometimes phone calls are not a bad thing!!! 😀
It doesn't seem like a caravan, otherwise you would need a truck to pull it :)
Apparently it is a static caravan. Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It is definitely something that doesn't look moveable!
I stayed in one like this in the Yorkshire Dales.. They never move do they, only on a trailer, which is ironic..
My little Fiat 500 has a tow bar, but it would struggle, I should think. 😄
I have a qashqai, I don't think it would fare any better!
It's quite fancy inside, like a house. I am tempted to get one and go off-grid,lol
What, no internet and such? NOOOO!
Lol. True. I couldn't live without it now!
Woah.., Huel is back with new exciting flavours, and that same gritty texture it always has, designed to promote heartburn and indigestion. Down it before you sleep and feel those flames racing up your throat!
I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Pre mixed and giant, I was almost tempted to buy one! Anything to take away the pain of the constant rain!
You picked an extra shitty week (last week). It's eased here now and is no longer pissing down. Roads were flooding.
Last week was not too bad where we were in Mallaig. We even had some beach days but this week is awful. Literally pissing down non stop. It's twisting my happy melon man 🤣
In that case its that slow moving rain that was here... and takes a whole week to get north.
Commiserations..., but you could be on a plane back from a Greek Island that's burning up instead. We were lucky and picked the non-burning Canary Island.
I actually thought you were lucky! Its bloody unlucky for those folk in Greece or who were meant to be going. Insurance companies claiming is an act of God too to get out of paying up, shocking!
I will take the rain for now. At least till I go away later in the year hopefully after fire season!
It is a fact that when a person thinks of doing something, then its importance becomes very high and a person starts working hard day and night to achieve it. I have also left such things from one place to another with the help of a truck.
Done of the roads up here are treacherously narrow. I'm amazed they can actually get them here!
Yeah you are right.
Nice I didn’t know trailer park trash existed in Scotland! That’s quite the surprise for me but I guess we are bringing you down a peg, except you have better colors!
The nice part about it is having it close to the water, hope the kids have been having a blast!
Oh yes, the trash exists. Although, it seems to be a bit posh/retired trash! 😀😀
We got some paddle boarding and some kayaking in so it was magic!
What. A. Pikey!
Thing is...
You can't beat caravan parks. Especially by lochs. Especially when you have kids.
So, my caravan by a loch story. 1969, Im 3. I'd been run over by a 15 year old neighbour on a pushbike and one leg was in bits and had a full length cast so my mum and dad, not wishing to miss out on their annual jamboree up North, shoves me and my then 6 month old brother onto the back of his Triumph Herald to make the 350 mile trip up to Fort William and a caravan park by Loch Eil. Allegedly the clean air was going to make my leg fix faster! Anyway, I have one old tatty photo of me, stretched out on my tartan car blanket on the grass by the side of caravan, full length pot, and it was fucking sunny I tell you.
As for the clean air. If the wind blew one way, you got the fumes from the Aluminium smelting plant, and if it blew another way, dust from the paper mill!
Still the most beautiful area on earth :-)
Thanks for the memory jog and I bet your kids had the greatest time ever.
Have a great weekend :-)
Haha, that is quite a memory!
My childhood was littered with caravan memories. Fife and Arbroath. Somehow the memories are always of it being sunny but I'm sure that can't have been the case!
But. How was the loch? Did you teach the young Boom's everything they'd need to row around in circles while you and the Good Lady searched for Nessie?
The search for Nessie was unsuccessful but we did find out that there is another beast Morag! Didn't see her either though!
We had lots of fun on the loch though!
If you haven't seen this Canadian mockumentary series, you are seriously missing out. And also, you are now obliged to embrace this lifestyle.
Lol, it looks exactly like here. I will have to check it!!
Don't tell me you hadn't heard of Trailer Park Boys?
There's even a Sandra in there ;<)
Is there? Haha, I had not heard of it at all!!
I was kidding about the 'Sandra' but one of the male main characters ( Randy ) has a stomach the size of a woman about to give birth.
My sister's kids have grown up in Scotland and will jump in any convenient pool of water, whatever the weather.
Those statics can be expensive. I guess most get delivered on a truck and never move again. Some I saw had decks built around them.
Rather than 'trailer trash' they tend to be inhabited by retired couples who didn't fancy moving to the Costa del Sol.
Enjoy!
We passed on on the west up on a narrow road being carried on a truck. It was a wide load and a half and scary to get past.
I am going to check out the prices, it would be great to have something like that at it is in a very central part of Scotland so could be a launching out for other excursions.
I thin I used to jump in every pool of water I saw. The kids are mad for water and the youngest cannot even swim yet!
I have only seen the first episode of Breaking Bad and I'm sure he was brewing up his drugs in a mobile home, aka...
Haha, he was!! That was a great show. It evolved so much, you should try it again. Heck, I might watch it again!
I have too many things to watch as it is. A lot of these US shows have so many episodes. I may get around to is. I try to be selective in my viewing and not just watch whatever the platforms suggest. Personal recommendations mean more.
Yeah, I have a backlog myself. Fortunately it isn't too long. The good play weren't through a Nordic crime drama thing for a while and it took us ages getting through countless ones of them
That's funny...lol
Taking trailer as caravans or making them look like one is crazy asf...
I wouldn't mind a camper van but they cost more than some houses!
Maybe we have a different definition for hooch, but I'll definitely take that over the jizzum.
Yeah, now that I think on it my comparison might be slightly FF l flawed.. 🤣
Is it at least close to the water? Looks like a pretty decent trailer at least.
Also why chew your food when you can just drink it? That stuff will be handy when you lose all your teeth to meth.
It's a great view, we are going paddle boarding tomorrow. Which will be cold but great fun.
I really like the place actually, he has a cool balcony decking bit.
You have struck upon the whole reason for the huel! Who needs teeth when you have huel! Lol
Yeah that does look nice. You're up pretty high too - great view of the lake. Have fun paddle boarding 👍
Will do!! Thank God for wetsuits!!
It's been way too long since I enjoyed a pistachio nut ice cream cone. Sugar cone, too, not one of those dunce waffle cones.
Try almond. Mmm, yummy. Good week with the scent of rotting flesh
Not mint chip, more like chip mint. They got a little heavy on the chips in recent years, you notice that? But, pistachio nut, mmm. Not pistachio nut.
Chip mint was the name of my very first dog!
Then one called cone but Chip Mint kept trying to get in Cone so we had to put them both in the burner
I know what you mean. Not Huel, never hearda the stuff. My homeboys dads name is Chip, his mother in law went to a similar temp recently and just three weeks after granddad fizzled out if you can believe that.
Totally the same.
exactly the same
Never has synchronicity been such a word before
Fucken trailer trash.
Speaking of jiz though, I hope you changed the sheets on the bed.
Heh heh. It was a bring your own bedding affair for which I am eternally grateful!! 🤣🤣
Hmm ok, sort of like a BYO gypsy vibe. 🤣
Looks like a nice place though, and your probably not actually trailer trash. 🤐
I have seen some people I could describe as trailer trash but think I am safe from being it myself. For now!
It is quite a nice place, surrounded by hills and small mountains with a lake in the middle. Quite serene!
We have those trailer things here too, pretty much the same really, and I've stayed in a few in my time. I prefer camping but there's times a cabin (as we tend to call them here) works well.
That spot sounds pretty nice, hopefully the weather plays along too.
Ha, the weather is being Scottish as usual but the rain has at least not been constant!
It's a plush wee thing, I am going to pop into the showroom and check out how much they are!
People put them on remote properties here, live in them off-grid. There's house sized ones too, trucked there on semi trailers in two or three parts and craned off then put together. Pretty nifty.
Hello Gentleman, let me tell you that those holidays are that the engines are roaring for great for the family.
Those trailers are going to tattoo great memories to their children, and they will have a lot to tell when they repeat to their own families the wonderful holidays with their dad and mom.
As a kid, we used to spend holidays in something similar, but Dad would hook it up to the van, and we would roll with the RV, it was so much fun. I still remember it with great joy.
Enjoy the camper life... Let's go! 🏕
Holidays are indeed that special sauce that keeps s family happy!!
That should awesome that you had a similar thing for your childhood! I have been tempted to buy something for the summers like that
It is wonderful the memory I have of those holidays with my parents and brothers going camping, without a doubt they were other times in my country, and everything was possible...
My parents sang songs, we read stories, we swam as soon as we found a river on the way, it was great and that memory, when it arises in this now, the magic, the illusion and gives me a lot of joy to live.
Have the best day in and around the trailer possible...
We are doing our level best to have a good time. It is quite fun. Like camping in a metal tent with heating 😀
From my land, I " hooray" with a good coffee for those unforgettable family moments...my estimate Sir.🌞😎🏖️
Hahah, this looks more like a prefabricated house than a caravan, man. Besides, what's the point of staying in a caravan if there are too many people around? I thought you would spend your time there without a headache XD
I think it is a prefab. Strange beast indeed. Inside it is like a posh house. I like it but it is weird!
hehe a trailer park .... wot no Buckfast 🤣
Lol, they have buckfast in the on-site shop. That's when I knew the place was a touch of class 🤣🤣
lmao ah I thought they might 🤣
Aye, I was not in the slightest bit surprised to see it!!
Looks like they weren't allowed to call that 'stuff' fuel. Although it's close to 'gruel' too.
Your friend seems to have forgotten the meaning of the word caravan but at least you've seem to got some indoor space.
How's the mosquito situation out there?
I am surprised that the makers of Huel haven't seen to have considered the similarity to gruel. Silly folk that they are.
The mossie situation is fine. It is the kind of place where they are rife but since I found this repellant stuff called Smidge I have never been bitten!
I like hooch even less than I liked jizzum.
You don't know.
Hehe, yeah, sometimes I don't know where the shit that comes out of my mouth comes from!
It's the lack of a filter..
I have that problem too..
Aye, sometimes it's good and other times it's WTF bad!
Did you have fun, once settled in? Sorry to hear it wasn't more mobile!
This post has been manually curated by the VYB curation project
Yeah man, we were out on the loch this morning. We saw a nuclear submarine. Nor quite a whale or a dolphin but still cool!
Jesus thats the fanciest caravan I've ever seen.
I know. It's nothing like the caravans of my youth. It's got WiFi, central heating and two fecking toilets 🤣🤣
Well look on the bright side, in the end in my opinion this idea has really made you the world champion of the family.... even if in my opinion you always are for your family!
You are world champion for me too!
You know I didn't know French mustaches were indifferent, I'll have to pay attention next time I see a Frenchman... although I admit it doesn't happen often.
Yes, Frenchmen are rare and their moustaches even more so. But if you see one, mark it well.
I think my family might have something to say on me being their champion, lol
#hive #posh
It's interesting that how you turned the car into carvan ?
Someone else's caravan!
Lol. Not a static caravan! My parents moved into one of these when they first retired in Florida. The damn thing survived four (yes, four!) hurricanes that very first year and the only major damage was to their carport. It was peeled away like aluminum foil. As it turns out the previous owner was an engineer and anchored it to concrete pylons with steel wire. Thank God he did or else they would've landed in one of the Carolinas.
You downvoted my post, I'd to know why?
Ask God?
I could ask the very same question
As long as it has a lake, you cant go too far wrong! Next you will have to get a boat, or at least a kayak or two.
