How to Know Yourself Better and Seek Self-Improvement Like Never Before… Part #1

in #mindsetlast year

Hi dear friends!

‘No one is perfect!’ This is the phrase that we all have heard at least once in our before. Sometimes, it leads us to a point where we think to ourselves:

‘Perfection does not exist, so I might as well give up.’

Just because it does not exist doesn’t mean that you should simply give up trying.

Some of us strive for flawlessness in everything, and yet fail miserably at the end to understand what it truly means to be perfect.

This is why we need to improve ourselves.

Every second. Every day. Every week. Every month. Every year.

In this article, I am going to list several actions and methods that can actually help you improve your skills, capabilities, and overall competence.

So, without further ado, let’s start with the simplest one.

  1. Try to Concentrate on One Ability!

Rather than trying to be perfect at multiple things at once, start focusing on one ability at a time.

By doing so, you will be able to improve yourself and find the key to success whenever you face an obstacle.

Concentrating on a single thing is difficult for a lot of people, but it can’t be difficult once you find out what you are truly good at, and discover your sole purpose in life.

2- Find Out the Type of Person You Are

If you are willing to improve yourself, you must learn not to dwell on your regrets or the mistakes you have made a long time ago.

There is a slight difference though; some people are more likely to get a better feeling of themselves when they look back at their previous reactions and realize what they could have done differently or how they could have reacted in various circumstances.

Finding out the type of person you truly are can help you recognize easier paths to achieve success and improve your prowess without regard for identity.

  1. Be Open to Critique and Feedback

It’s completely true; no one is willing to hear about any kind of negativity in their life. Yet constructive criticism can be helpful at times.

Weaklings refuse to accept their critics, mostly coming up with excuses to run from criticism, whereas strong-willed people have a tendency to embrace criticism with open arms.

As much as it’s sweet to be complimented on your work, it is most valuable to seek out feedback as well.

What better way to improve oneself, other than seeking out feedback from reliable people?

Thanks All of You!!!!

The key to receiving constructive criticism is finding people who are on your side, in whom you can trust, who is wise and will tell you the truth for your own benefit. Discerning who is there to build you up and not to tear you down is crucial.

And, then, listen to those people! Conside them your "advisory board." Ultimately, decisions you make are your sole responsibility, but successful people realize that they have neither perspective on everything, nor all the answers within themselves.

Hello friend, I had time without visiting your blog, I have had many problems with the internet. I hope you are well :)

This is good advice, learning to receive criticism, when we accept criticism we can improve on things that we may be failing or doing wrong, constructive criticism helps us to walk towards excellence, and when it comes to destructive criticism, we simply do not attention because it can divert your goal

I have also missed a lot of @chbartist s recent posts due to a hectic work schedule. Lots of post reading to catch up on in the next week. Steem on😀

Jack of all master of none, the proverb matches with your excellent writing. Thanks for your valuable advice.

@chbartist, Definitely we all have strong points and weak points. In my opinion if we have to grow then we have to concentrate upon strong points because actions towards our strong points will going to lead towards the more productivity.

But to improve and attain more growth definitely we have to work upon our Weaknesses too but never go hard on yourself.

Being self aware of where we can improve and accepting feedback is a key factor in our growth and improvements. If we are able to adapt to the needs of the tasks at hand, we can improve the likelihood of success!

Greetings @chbartist

You raise in this publication three aspects that we must develop and reinforce to achieve personal improvement, these being the following:

The first, focus on developing one activity at a time, allowing to improve efficiency, reducing failures or losses due to errors

The second aspect, not looking back, is not reviewing issues of the past,

And finally, accept the criticisms, which, we must review, and take what is necessary to allow our constant improvement

I go for the first time to his blog, @Chbartist, thanks to a post by @nothus. I already knew something earlier translated by @nothus, and I've decided to read it directly.
I observe three reflections/suggestions to get to know each other better and to surpass each other that I fully share. By tinting a little what it says, I can add that, both in the discovery of the type of person we are and in the openness to criticism, we can conceive of the need to question ourselves. It is a kind of exercise in self-irony through which we see ourselves critically, as one who sees oneself in the mirror as one another, distances oneself and can recognize oneself in its weaknesses and shadows.
I will be attentive to your posts. At the moment my voting power is a little low. But I will soon try to share with those who comment. Thank you for your post and greetings.

@chbartist, great ideas.
I believe that the most hard thing to do for all of us is to find out the type of person we are.
Knowing Your self makes Your more conscious about your actions and life therefore it is much easier to focus on things that are important to You and to accept criticism.
Please share Your thoughts and give us some advice on how could we know our self better.

Thank you for this!!!

Jack off all trades but master of one. It's the best policy. Right you are..

Changing your negative vocabulary will lead you to success (here are some word you have to change)

Yes sir you are saying right use ability with concentrate good way of improvement life.

Concentration a powerful things that can change your life

Saludos.

Hi friend @chbartist

Rather than trying to be perfect at multiple things at once, start focusing on one ability at a time

This is very correct. We are not perfect and we all have at least one thins special with us. We need to find out that and work on that area.

You rightly said that no need to worry for about what we don't have instead we should focus on the area we are good it and feedback from reliable people makes us even better. Thanks for the nice post.

The part towards self discovery is indeed a journey one must make alone in order to really find inner peace and strength plus abilities.
Once you discover your strengths and weaknesses and that hidden talent you posses, you now owe it to yourself to improve on them in order to be the best you can be.

Good morning @chbartist nice to say hello, I am reading your publications and they are very interesting, I would like to be part of this community I am new to the platform but I have the best disposition to learn and grow.
Greetings to all

I have found that one of the most effective ways to learn more about yourself, your subconscious beliefs, desires and fears, is to pay very close attention to the words that leave your mouth. The language we use, and the language others use, can be so revealing when observed keenly and with the intention of gaining insight.

Absolutely love this post great job

Congratulations @chbartist!

Acquiring new and good habits is another good way to improve oneself, through them correct bad habits such as procrastination, laziness, sedentary lifestyle, among others. It takes some time, but by repeating an activity for a minimum of 21 days, you can consolidate and improve it

and discover your sole purpose in life.

Now I kinda wonder, do we really have just one and sole purpose in our life? I guess, biologically that would just be procreation/reproduction.

I totally agree with your method of concentrating on one ability but this is a very hard thing to achieve, especially in this modern world where we need so many diverse skills to survive. I have spent the last 5 months learning to play the violin and I did my first paid performance for 400 people last week.(not solo) it’s been a hard road and other parts of my life have suffered from neglect. Your second point discovering what kind of person you are is a hard one. We are all complicated beings and to put ourselves in a box type is difficult. Feedback from others is good but I have found that others give you advice that they themselves are not always following
