It's Time to Move on to Round Five. The Theme is Stones!
Stones! What art can there possibly be in stones? Plenty, as we're about to find out!
Whether it's a macro photo showing the details of an individual stone, the variety seen in a pile of them, the smoothness of some warn by battering waves or the rugged jagged edges of stones found in a field we're going on a journey of exploration!
There will be at least 10 SBD in prizes and bonus prizes as well! In the last round all 34 members who made it into the virtual gallery received a prize!!!!
Here Are a Few Examples For You!
Here is a photo of stones from my vacation to Ireland last year.
Here are some stones that I found on the beach in Georgian Bay in Ontario. I took this photo with my phone just now but imagine a nice "studio shot"!
Natural or staged? The choice is yours. These three examples are from pixabay.com

Here is my entry @kus-knee ^_^ My gnomely friend Luigi climbed his own rocks, enjoying the panorama of the big ones, french Alps ;-)
as you asked for suggestion, I might propose artistic tools such as pencils, brushes, paintings, and so on...
well it's the first thing that came to my mind, in a whole biased way as I'm surrounded by them...LoL
I am chuckling almost silently but only because the hubby is sleeping so sweet right next to me and I don't want to disturb him! Great entry! 😂😂🤣😅
Haha ! now it's me laughing @pusteblume ! ^_^
Lovely. Thank you!
The Mundane as Art Round Five Entry : Stone sculpture in New Zealand
Great theme.
A very nice entry and it should look beautiful in our virtual gallery!
Eh? It had to be stones...
I moved from New York to Florida and you know what I miss the most?
THE ROCKS
We don't have any here. And if we do have them here it's only because they've been imported. If, by chance, I happen to come across any stones, I will definitely snap a photo. :D
Haha that's funny ! Good Luck !!👍😂
That's funny!!!
Great initiative.

LOL! Did you get a chance to check out the promotional post I did on it !? Im looking forward to see what you come up with next !!👍👍👍
It's me with stones, and also with the sea, seagulls - in Crimea)
Thanks for entering!
Sooo... I am a rockhound. I probably have a ton of pretty rocks stuffed on windowsills, bookshelves and in boxes. I can hardly conceive of a rock as "mundane" but I will try to get in the right frame of mind... LOL!
I picked one of my very tiniest rockpeople friends. It is a quartz crystal, one of the clearest varieties known. We dug it in upstate New York, they call them "Herkimer Diamonds." A little satin backdrop, a flashlight, and I think you can get a feel for just how clear this little baby is. Thanks for hosting this! I truly appreciate these contests and challenges, much easier way for me to "socialize" than the chat rooms!
Put into scale:
Wow! That's a very nice stone. Good for you!
Thank you!
We have an actual diamond field here in Arkansas where you can pay to dig for diamonds. I forget how big the biggest to come out of it was- pretty good size I think.
Oh yes, I have been there. It rained the day we went. Wet, raw diamonds are all but invisible, so we army crawled through the green mud all day... found a little tiny amethyst lol! No diamonds... had a blast though!
We lived in Conway for about 4 years, used to go to Mt Ida and hunt crystals ALL the time. That Herkimer mining is hard rock mining, you crack those babies out of the bedrock. The first time we pulled into Mt Ida and the PARKING LOT was made of little crystals I about turned into gollum. Mark was driving away, I was still hanging out the door grabbing more crystals after we had loaded the poor car down to the max already lol! I have very poor self control about rocks. :)
I was going to ask if you made it down to the Ouachitas hunting for crystals... I'm too lazy, there are so many roadside stands selling them lol!
Oh, we made a frequent day trip of it. We would stop by Hot Springs, soak our toes and get drinking water. Where we lived (Mayflower, we moved to Conway after about a year) the water was unfit to drink too often, we just always went and got water and we'd go get some crystals, have a picnic, it was a blast. You should do it at least once!
Great contest - thanks for initiating it!
Here is my entry:

My photo for this beautiful contest:
Thanks for your picture. It's very unusual. Is it a quarry?
would this image work for the contest?
It's great. I love it! Did you take the picture?
yes @kus-knee , I was playing with stones on the beach because it was too cold to suntan, lol
My entry ... Jasper Stones.
https://steemit.com/mundaneart/@daisyphotography/the-mundane-as-art-round-five-the-theme-is-stones
Gotta love jasper!
I love to see how stones change their colour when they get in contact with water. Out of the sudden they are so shiny. This is my entry with some nice raindrops:

Thank you for another nice contest <3
Very cool. Thanks for the lovely photo!

Hello Sir @kus-knee,
Here's my entry for this week's mundane art: Stones.
This time around, I've decided to create a post for this.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a photo!
Found this smiley stone called "chert" in Chesil Bay, Portland, Dorset, UK. Already used in an old post when we went to Dorset last May.
I really like it. Thanks!
You're welcome, great entries so far. Have fun choosing😎😎

I'm really pleased to have a submission from you! I hope to get one from your wife too!
Thank you, she is already looking for a suitable picture.....
This one was hard to choose! Stones and rocks are one of my favorite things and I had far too many photos to pick from. In the end I settled for this collection of stones that were gathered in Northwestern Arizona
You have some fine rocks there in Arizona!
It's quite unbelievable how many people have/took pictures of stones!! I love seeing all of them. Hope to return with a stone of my own. Thanks for the challenge you Old Dog!!! <3
Oh how nice to have you in our pre-gallery selection @everlove! I will wait your photo!
Blessed to share with you @kus-knee!!

It was the right day, the right light, and the right luck. I do not normally find to many round agates on the beach. On the day I found this one, I found 2 others. Three of them in one day, my own little horseless trifecta. They were all about the size of a small marble. The other two were yellow in color. I sat this beaut on the dash of my jeep, to get the light, and I think it came out nice. Taken with my samsung s7.
Very good. Thanks so much for sending me the photo!

This is superb!
I love these mundane art exhibits. This photo is from one of my Golden Autumn posts. Stones underwater at sunset. Best appreciated in full screen.
That is lovely. Thanks!
Yes, they do look better full screen.....very pretty!
Thanks, nature is amazing.
Stones eh. I hope it's not inundated with nsfw pics!
Spoken in true Boomer style. Might you grace us with a non NSFW piece? Perhaps in your photo edit style? I would be pleased to have an official @meesterboom in our gallery!
Hehe, I will steer clear of the NSFW but will definitely keep an eye out for a stony piece to photograph!

My my @pepe.maya you're good at this Mundane as Art stuff! Very nice!
Thank you very much! :))
The stone that I admire...
Wandering what is your impression of it...
What is in its mind?
I like it! Well done. It's hard for me to gauge the scale here. How big is the stone from your recollection?
Let's say I would have to use both hands to pick it up.
Roughly, 25cmX15cmm 😉
I am glad you like it. Thank you!
I love this photo, that place, and the stone on that spot. I felt some kind of connection with it, or I just felt like this stone at that specific moment. 😏
Anyhow...
Have a wonderful weekend 😇
I have been really enjoying these. Its hard to pick just one photo, so I made a whole post Here.
A very nice entry. Thanks!
I will do up a post to spread the word! Yet another mundane winner!
I anxiously await your entry! I know that you won't disappoint! Always love the @old-guy-photos style!
