I think it will have effect on the no of elephants killed for Ivory, after the law is enforced...But it will be slow, lets say 10 years to see actual noteworthy results of the ban.

Yeah, I agree that it will most likely take some time. But I hope this changes the attitude towards ivory so that people don't really want to buy it anymore.
