1 Full Year on Steemit, My Thoughts - Gratitude - 5000sp Delegation - Questions for V4vapid

in #news7 years ago (edited)

Few people have been as fortunate as I have on Steemit.

This past year has been an amazing ride with all of you, and as such, I'd like to give thanks and share some of my thoughts with you today.

Passion, Perseverence and Consistency

When I look back on this year, I can't believe how far I've come.

I would never have imagined that I would have more than 2,500 followers (debatable), close to 70 rep, and enough voting power to make or break someone's day.

I started at the bottom with nothing and clawed my way up slowly to the position I now hold. There's no magic formula to divulge or secret wisdom, for me it's all about putting in the extra effort, improving as you progress, learning from observing others and, equally as important, learning from your own mistakes.

The Importance of Community

Whether you're a regular poster in politics, a member of the MSP Discord channel, a part of @teamaustralia or just a curious mind commenting and replying to posts you like, being part of a community is a crucial part in speeding up your progression as a Steemian.

When I joined Steemit a year ago, I was what you might call a Reddit Refugee looking for a new home after witnessing the banning of several communities like r/pizzagate and r/operation_berenstein. The bannings were preceded by the complete flooding of r/politics with CTR shills and the brazen mod censorship in r/wikileaks, I was searching for a haven from the rampant censorship.

What I found on Steemit was a small but lively community of truth seekers dedicated to the cause and mostly making posts worth a few cents to a dollar.

I didn't come for the Steem Dollars, I came for the underlying blockchain. I felt, as others surely did, that Steemit provided a unique way to fight censorship. Since there are no moderators or advertisers on the block controlling the flow of information, it seemed to be the ideal solution. What you posted was preserved on the block, period.

The friends I made early on debating issues, discussing leaks, sharing research and posting with are what kept me going on the platform. The addition of new blood in the months and weeks that followed brought a new sophistication with their posts and raised the bar for the rest of us, myself included.

The community itself was, and still is, the most valuable part of the blockchain.

Manual Curation

A 100% manual curator is perhaps becoming a rare thing these days, but I remain part of this minority. There are certainly as many drawbacks as there are benefits to this approach but as a content oriented person I can't bring myself to blindly auto-upvote accounts.

I have no bots and I don't follow any curation trails.

I generally rely on my feed and resteems from other steemians to find a lot of the posts that I upvote. However, this understandably limits the amount of posts that i come in contact with. At the same time, I would like to stress that I do read 95% of the posts that I vote on.

I have stated elsewhere that I'm trying to promote and foster censorship-free, independent media and investigative journalism on Steemit. The types of articles I tend to vote for are well sourced, well written and well researched. In case you're wondering, I don't like copy and paste material (unless it comes from your own blog or publication) and I don't like sensational and click-bait titles: "The Truth about...", "Why the Left...", "Why the Right...", "What you Need to Know about...", "BREAKING..." - if I ever use one of these, please call me out on it.

Delegation

It's no secret that I have benefited immensely from an incomprehensibly generous delegation of steem power. Lately, when I stick my head out of the rabbit hole for some air, I've been feeling enormously fortunate and grateful to all the people who have supported me along this journey. There are really too many to name but I feel compelled to try. In no particular order:

@jamesc, @ausbitbank, @titusfrost, @rebelskum, @tremendospercy, @an0nkn0wledge, @aggroed, @ramengirl, @kafkanarchy84, @canadian-coconut, @fulltimegeek, @teamsteeem, @johalfiles, @perceptualflaws, @karensuestudios, @frankbacon, @ura-soul, @thatsnumberwang, @richq11, @lyndsaybowes, @rhondak, @gmuxx, @wakeupworldnews, @r0nd0n, @discordiant, @stackin, @sarahabed, @clarityofsignal, @creatr, @jacuzzisurfer, @jockey, @dwinblood, @minnowsupport, @pulpworx, @steemtruth, @goldenarms, @markwhittam, @docdeluxe, @matrjoschka, @lighteye, @thelightreports, @thehoneybee, @jrcornel, @pfunk, @acidyo, @drakos, @dotivoluntarily, @son-of-satire, @benjojo, @patrice ...

Also like to thank: @corbettreport, @reallygraceful, @lukewearechange, @pressfortruth, @dbroze, @sgtreport, @activistpost, @theouterlight, ...

Special thank you to my friend @fortified who made this 1 year anniversary post in my honor and made the awesome gifs at the bottom of this page with his @animate account. I've had some fantastic conversations with @fortified on and off chain I've thoroughly enjoyed talking with you and the insightful feedback you give me.

Giving Back - 5000sp

There are some debts that cannot be repaid but I'd like to do more to give back to the community. I've recently freed up some steempower and I'll be delegating five separate 1000sp.

The first person to receive delegation is @jasonshick who seems to be everywhere in the comment sections these days. Maybe you already have an idea who the remaining are.

1000sp delegations

  1. @jasonshick
  2. @perceptualflaws
  3. @tremendospercy
  4. @an0nkn0wledge
  5. @rebelskum

Note: It may take a few days before I can send them out, patience please ;)

A Few Questions for V

How do you say your name?

It rhymes with rapid.

What does your name mean?

Well, it has 2 parts really.

  1. It's a play on words from: V for Vendetta
  2. It's a social commentary on how stupidity is exalted in western culture .

Why are you anonymous?

I choose to be anonymous for several reasons but the main reason is it allows me to focus on my research. We see time and time again that when certain taboo subjects come to the surface or an investigation begins to expose the powers that shouldn't be, the motis operandi is to attack and discredit the messenger. We see this in the mainstream and alternative media as well. I prefer that my research does the talking.

What's the Deal with Your Profile Picture?

Our eyes are open but we do not see. Open your third eye.

Will You Ever Reveal Your Identity?

Anything is possible.

I liked how you said you came for the block chain and you grew your account when there were not many users around and it is growing day by day . Congratulations on your 1 year and giving back to the community! Cheers 🍻

For what it's worth, @v4vapid, you have been a tremendous inspiration for me. I see what you've accomplished, and how kind and fair you strive to be, and I think: "that's who I want to be when I grow up from a minnow." You've been extremely supportive, and you're a heck of a journalist. I always knew adding your links to Steemshelves would take a while because I had to read the posts. LOLOL

I'm not as hardcore anti-bot as some, but I don't like them much. People have used them to add value to some of my posts, and I don't complain. But I went head to head with someone who wanted me to do bot curation with The SFT, and I stuck to my guns. MANUAL curation is the way to go, if we want it to mean anything. So I'm with you on that.

Drop by TWB any time you have a spare minute and wave at us. :-)

Great to hear from you @rhondak, thanks for the kind words. I try to be as fair as possible and keep a cool head even when there's a shitstorm-a-brewing.
I definitely prefer Manual curation but there are instances where bots come in handy, idk, i think i'm just a little ocd and it would bother me to know i (auto)voted on a few snap shots of someone's dinner while others slave away for hours creating pieces of art that get overlooked.
I will definitely make a point of coming by the WB in the future.

I'm a manual curator too. I've never tried using a bot yet.
I could see using one though if I knew that I wouldn't be able to get on my computer to vote for several days.

Absolutely, autovoting can be put to good use and this is one example. Thanks for all your support over the year, I'm extremely grateful!

You are welcome. And thanks for your support too.

Hey Mate,
Being a small part of your journey has been an honour. Your integrity, hard work and dedication to the truth is worthy of the utmost respect.
New adopters to this wonderful platform should be looking to you to emulate the standard you have set to be successful in there own work.
Thanks for all the support you have afforded me and the others here trying to get noticed. Thanks for the delegation and most of all thanks for your work.
You're amazing dude.

Aw, I'm just doing what I can. I wish I could delegate much more to all of you!

Congratulations, so proud of you!

Love ya Kubber ❤️

You are also an inspiration to all. I haven’t had a lot of interaction with @v4vapid but @tremendospercy’s support and friendship has made my journey on steemit all the much more worthwhile.

Thank you to everyone who focuses on building communities and supporting others.

Thanks buddy. I appreciate the kind words. I hope you're having a fantastic trip Scotty.

Happy Anniversary, your content is very valuable. Thank you for all your research and I look forward to seeing a lot more in your "new year". <3

I appreciate your support @lyndsaybowes, and thank you for spreading my last post on other sites. Thank you so much!

Excellent - I am glad to have caught this post and learned more about you and felt your heart here. :)

Your posts are always quality and connected enough to reality that they shine light that needs to be shone. Let's keep our centers clear and open - there's much more yet to come in this new beginning ;)

<3

Thank you sir! I'm a big fan of your work here, and I'm happy that my message of gratitude is being heard.

I think you're right, there's much more to come!

Steem on!

Steemit is a lucky place indeed! You make a keen point on delegation btw ;)

p.s. Forever stay a badass

You mean the part where i plan on delegating you power? hehe

I just need to take the time to actually figure the process out. Folks like you are definitely why delegation should have been a thing.

Cheers man, there's nothing to figure out really except that it might take me a few days to officially delegate it to you as there's a waiting period if you end a previous delegation.
All you have to do is use the sp to upvote posts/comments you like. Boom!

That'd be incredible! I try to use my votes wisely but I might have to explore more of this voting meta. Thankfully there's SteemDB :)

You deserve it my friend!

Hello @V4vapid,

Thank you for sharing this thought about a year on Steem. This is really inspiring for me (and probably for many of us), people on Steem need to read more article like that because it give hopes that everyone can make it on Steem (even if some are luckier and we can't control the luck ;-)) but as you says... We all can make it with Passion, Perseverence and Consistency.

I am also really happy to read that you are a manual creator. It's so easy theses days on Steem to be part of a trail (circles jerk ?) and just focus on profit. Thanks for not being part of that. Thanks for being here for the change this blockchain can bring to our (sick) society. Thanks for be part of this change.

This is what I needed to read right now... When I step on your article. No hasard probably...

So thank you !

Roxane

I appreciate this comment very much and part of my message here is basically keep working hard and good things will happen. I believe that. I'm glad that this message is reaching people and my story gives people struggling to gain traction some motivation.
Merci beaucoup :)

De rien, ça venait du coeur :-)

Thank you for the delegation I just saw this and it sucks to be so busy things get pushed back to the back burner. Despite being massiveley busy with many things in the works both article wise and not. I appreciate you as a friend man and I am truly honored thank you so much again for the delegation and being an awesome human being. Much love and peace. AK.

You deserve it! We need more people like you on the platform and I just wanted to thank you for your hard work in some small way. I've met some amazing people here and you're definitely one of them. I appreciate what you do, I mean that.
Stoked to see what you have in store next ;)

You have done exceptionally well my friend and I'm honored to know you! Check tomorrow, I'm doing a followup to today's post on pedophilia as part of the psychological attack on American values through the normalization of homosexuality.

Thank you @richq11, I appreciate your solid contributions to investigating taboo subjects here and all your support. Looking forward to your latest offerings :)

Thank you my friend, congratulations on your success (If you figure it out tell me so I can stop powering down to stay alive lol)

You are the exact example I wish to emulate. I joined in May and, thanks in large part to the various communities I play an active part in, I stand at over 2100 followers. Like you, all my curating on my account is 100% manual. I see community as key to growth on steemit and I am lucky that my community of writers at The Writers' Block is growing at an insane rate.

I am not lucky enough to plough my own money into Steem, but am extremely grateful for the account worth I now stand at.

Your support is always much appreciated.

Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary, I look forward to making my post about this next year.

Oh, and we'll done delegating to @TremendosPercy, he is an awesome bloke who has my 100% support in everything he does on Steemit.

Thanks @gmuxx, I'd love to spend more time in the Writer's Block and get to know some of the good people there. Not enough hours in the day, I guess. I spend way too many hours in the rabbit hole. I've had a serious lack of sleep since joining Steemit, sure many can relate. Happy to hear that the WB is growing so rapidly, that's amazing growth.
TP is top notch!
When you make it to one year and turn around to see what you've accomplished I'm sure it's gonna surprise you too :)

I have never slept so little since joining Steemit lol.

Y'know what dude, I've been sleeping like a baby again since I've been on this extended hiatus from writing. I don't think it is a bad thing to take a break now and again so you don't drop dead mid-post! 😂
I've also had time to really read a lot of the posts properly as it becomes an exercise in speed reading after a while due to the amount of quality writers right now.
Thanks for the kind words further up the comment trail dude, you're a class act Muxxy.

HEY! I'm still awaiting your draft of that historical dystopian novel you're supposed to write!

A break is needed occasionally. I had mine at Steemfest and felt much better for it.

Thanks for your kind words dude.

Same here!!!!!

If only someone would delegate us some SLEEP!

My friend, in one post you capture and indeed extol the virtues of Steemit at it's symbiotic and philanthropic best. I've said it before and I'll say it again but the research and dedication you give to your posts should serve as a benchmark to others and a testament to hardwork and dedication.

I was already truly humbled to find my name mentioned and then to scroll down the page and find your delegation just blew me away.! Thank you doesn't really cover it but I say it from the bottom of my heart! You've made my day and painted a huge sile across my face, which after a long Monday is no easy task! Thank you again @v4vapid you're everything I hoped this platform would be.

Congratulations my friend, every bit of sp counts and I think others need it more than i do :) Like I said to @tremendospercy, I wish I had more sp to give out!

Your posts are starting to get the attention they deserve and I was blown away by your latest piece... phenomenal stuff!

Thank you @ v4vapid I really appreciate it and I'm also humbled by all the help you've given me on here. Equally I'm really glad you enjoyed the post, thanks again!

Yes my man. Thanks for the very kind shout-out. It's been a good year. Thanks for the support. Good choice on the delegations. they are all superb Steemians.

And you are right, there is no secret apart from consistency and hard work.

Here's to another great year of posting.

Thanks again
@fortified

I'm very fortunate to have met all of you here.
I think if people want to succeed, just put your head down and work on your craft. I think good things will happen.

Dang a whole year and your going Strong! Way to go man and I hope I can keep up with it and do the same!

Thanks @defango, I'm glad you've stepped up your presence here!

Great job, @v4vapid! Congrats on the numbers, but rather on your way of thinking which I really appreciate.

That should be written on the welcome page:

There's no magic formula to divulge or secret wisdom, for me it's all about putting in the extra effort, improving as you progress, learning from observing others and, equally as important, learning from your own mistakes.

Thanks for underlining the importance of the community. It can't be told often enough :-)

Best of luck for your further journey!

It's been a fun ride mate I'm glad you stuck around :)
Great choices on the delegations, too!

Mate! If it weren't for you and some other shining examples I may have thrown in the towel long ago. You're a big part of my success here and I'm forever grateful for your support.
The delegations were all well earned in my opinion :)

@v4vapid I just want to take a quick moment to say Congratulations on the greatness you've manage to accomplish due to the consistent effort to grow in this platform. As for me, things can get hard and at times, and it can be easy to loose memento. Great job. Congrats and reach for the stars! Best wishes. - @splendorhub

I am only here for a bit longer than a month and i love it, i am not really a blogger i thought, i am more someone who does the social chitchat on Fb. But since i am on Steemit, i talk about everyting, and even start understanding things i never thought i would understand. :-) I love it, i feel i want to become a blogger, not for the dollar, just because i feel i can. And now it also feels like it is worth to write and search things out. I just love it... Hope that in 9 months i will celebrate like you are !! STEEMon CONGRATULATIANS ! xxx 3 kisses and a virtual glass of champagne...

Happy Anniversary to one of my FAVORITE people on Steemit. Thank you so much for being such a kind, encouraging, thoughtful and all around wonderful human being! Also, thank you for the mention <3

I wish you continued success, you are an inspiration to many of us!

Thank you @sarahabed, right back at you!

The Steemboat is too big with so many things going on, sometimes it's easy to miss those that've been around rowing the same boat for a long time now. Glad you're around and building something with the rest of the community. Sometimes I kinda feel like the "truther" community has a little too much gossip and misinformation going around, but I'll try to learn what people are interested in and why they're doing what they do. :)

Thanks for the comment!
I can understand where you're coming from with the 'truther' community, I'm not a fan of that label myself and there are some sensational claims that sometimes dominate the alt media.

What I do value in this field is an open minded approach and seeing where the evidence leads. Give a few people here a follow, there are some people doing some great research on subjects that are all too often ignored. The Steemboat is getting too big, yeah, I'm starting to fall behind myself. But that's probably a good thing ;)

Lol got this tab opened for days. Btw, what do you think is your most mindblowing finding atm that you think is true without a shadow of doubt? Would be interested to take a look into these things. Once I looked into the Enki / Annunaki stuff and that was pretty damn interesting, although seems kinda far fetched

Good question, I'm not someone who likes to say that something is absolute truth as all truths are subjective. However, if I had to point out a few conspiracies that are a near lock - FLAT EARTH.
Just kidding, that shit is total crap.

I think one of the most significant things that has been established is media manipulation and CIA's operation Mockingbird. The CIA exerts significant control over the US media and has done so since the 1950s. With the rise of the internet, free flowing information, and alternative media (low cost) more people are becoming aware that the West has the most powerful propaganda ever created and our society is filled with illusions and falsehoods that most people never question. It's only going to intensify as Obama signed NDAA 2017 which legalized domestic propaganda.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-24/obama-signs-countering-disinformation-and-propaganda-act-law

Btw, I love watching Annunaki docs, but I too think that it's pretty out there. Fascinating to think about nonetheless. I find the idea that we're genetically engineered by an alien species to be a pretty mind blowing idea.

Just to add another point, the documents that prove that the CIA and governemnt agencies staged the Bay of Tonkin that lead to US entering the Vietnam war and the documents of operation Northwoods where the US governement proposed staging false flags are very important revelations. This means that we need to seriously consider that False Flags have/are most likely occurring.

https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu//news/20010430/northwoods.pdf

Very interesting, thanks! Imo I think the world is kinda too chaotic / messy for any dominant control, but I can see the reason why if traditional mass media is still what people pay attention to. Atm I think more and more are tuning into decentralised media and have been forming different kinds of trust networks, which is pretty much what social media is.

Very true, yet just look at the few dominant Tech companies Apple, Google (Youtube), Facebook (Instagram, Whatsapp), Amazon, etc. the amount of control and influence these companies have is staggering. If they want to promote or remove certain content, they can easily do so.

I think you're right, people are moving to more decentralized systems but the vast majority of us are still undoubtedly effected by the power of these media behemoths.

Salutations from another 100% manual curator, and congratulations on the milestone! I also tend to find new Steemians to follow through resteems from others I trust to not spam garbage in my feed, and it works better than following the trending and hot feeds.

I'm glad to know you my friend! And I'm really glad to be part of this awesome experience that Steem is. I look forward to even more!

Cheers @teamsteem, I admire your outlook and your insight into all things steemit! Hoping we can build something lasting on the block!

Amazing achievement ! I've been here for 6 months and compared to you I'm sand in the desert <3 Hope I can match your achievements one day.

Lovely to see you did well. Enjoy steemit but don't forget to enjoy life <3 All the best !

Sage advice, thank you!

Congrats on 1 year here man. I have only been here less then a month and hope I can claw my way up to being as well respected as you here. It just goes to show if you grow with the people following you and treat them with respect and give them content they can all relate with then they will treat you well in return. I myself don't always have the same opinions as everybody but I like to think many people can agree with what I say. Again congrats and let's see what another year will lead to.

Great comment and I obviously agree with this wholeheartedly. Mutual respect and support goes a long way on this platform. Check out the Minnow Support Project on Discord, it's a great way to network and be part of a variety of communities. All the best!

I will have to check it out when I have a chance thank you.

Your generosity and support are unparalleled.

Goddamnit, I knew I forgot to mention some people here! that has been corrected.

VOTE @drakos for witness! A stand up Steemian.

Highly rEsteemed!
Happy B-Day and nice job on boosting the FIVE!

To me the whole point of a "social" site is the social component. For that reason alone I fail to see the value in bots for voting.

Yes, there are many aspects of the Steemit ecosystem that are frustrating and many of the issues are double edge swords with no simple answers. This is an experiment of sorts, we police the community ourselves and well, there's some serious inequality too but there are a lot of strengths as well. I think it's most frustrating when we compare our accounts to others, i think if you focus on your own goals here and developing your own style and craft, finding your niche or community, that can be very rewarding as well. Thanks for commenting, i hope some of these issues get resolved as steemit matures.

I agree. The bigger question to me, is if steem will mature.
Tech startups are many. Great concepts may or may not survive or may be taken & implemented by someone else who does it "better".

Yes, I agree with this statement. If Steemit is an experiment and there are fundamental issues that are not being dealt with the scenario that you describe here, the platform could easily be replaced by something similar or 'better'. That's real as day.
My hope is that the community itself can come together and move things in the right direction through new initiatives and cooperative measures that are in the interests of all users, not just a few whales.

I'd like to think so also.

Hello @v4vapid, i was very interested to read your reason for coming to this platform, its very encouraging to see that you have found the safe haven like us all from the tampering and censorship by those who would stifle the Truth ! I have been granted a few times your vote on my post and for that i am most grateful and give thanks ! So lets see what this second year of Steemit brings us ! Steem On Brother )

Happy anniversary! Glad to have you on this platform. You are always informing me of crazy topics! Cheers to another great year!

Thank you @karensuestudios! Thanks for getting me out of my dark research once in a while to appreciate the good ;)

Happy Anniversary @v4vapid
I'm sort of new but not really. I came in little over a 4 months ago and most of my experiences have been world class. I've faced some spammers and seen some flame wars. But still, the community is unparalleled and without competition or alternative.

Reddit is just another blip in comparison and Twitter, Snapchat and other money bleeding leftist controlled censored platforms are full of vanity and worthlessness. I came for the community and I'm staying for it.

Seeing many steemians posting got me into writing content since a month ago and it resulted in extra ~100 more followers. I don't even have that many friends on FakeBook which I still log in once a month or something.

I spend few hours a day on this great platform and I'm glad to see many productive people like you making this a wonderful place :-)

SMTs will kick STEEM past $10 and I'm really excited for SMT. I'd probably even start taking STEEM as an investment.

Keep posting great content and I really respect your manual curation.
@vimukthi

Great comment, glad your having a positive experience here. Steemit is at an interesting stage right now, you could be right SMTs have great potential:)

Don't forget Dash, EOS, Bitshares (Which may or may not get killed by EOS), SONM, NEM, PIVX, BAT, Sia, MaidSafe and many other amazing projects.

Thank you very much for keep your 'manual' curation. Also for the immense amount of information you share in your posts.
Cheers!

Congrats on the year and good work on sticking to your principles when it comes to voting etc. I've been on here a week and have already seen many posts about using bots to manipulate posts, irrespective of the quality of the content. I feel like the platform will benefit much more from your type of approach and will certainly look to follow suit when it comes to curation standards. Here's to the next year! 🎉

Yes, there's quite a debate going on the use of bots and auto-voting and while I don't use them I know some great people who do a lot of good using them to spread more rewards to more people. Personally, I don't think it's black/white or good/evil, a lot of times people autovote because there's just not enough time in the day to read all of your favorite authors. Anyways, don't be discouraged by the bots...for new comers I highly recommend joining a community such as the Minnow Support Project. Thanks for taking the time to comment, cheers.

Thanks for replying @v4vapid, that's great advice. I guess the posts that are more critical of the bots tend to get more attention (or at least from what I've seen), so I'll keep an open mind. I haven't got involved in the Minnow Support Project so will definitely check it out.

Thanks again!

Lovely to read a bit about u @v4vapid ! Thanks for sharing.

Happy Steemversary V!

I too now do most of my curation manually. It forces me to read what I upvote and allows me to have enough VP left to vote accordingly when I come across a post I truly enjoy.

Yes, it can be much more rewarding when you find a gem in the rough!

Hell of a journey. @v4vapid
You are an inspiration for all of us who dare to dream.
Who knows one day you delegating steem power to @xabi. lol

You never know...

Congratulations on your achievement on steemit. I wish you the very best in all future endeavors.

"Whether you're a regular poster in politics, a member of the MSP Discord channel, a part of @teamaustralia or just a curious mind commenting and replying to posts you like, being part of a community is a crucial part in speeding up your progression as a Steemian."

I must say, this is the best advice any new Steemian can get.

This is the first time I'm reading your post but while going through some of your past posts I've realized you are someone I could learn a lot from. I'm a big fan of conspiracy theories and I'm always on the lookout for someone who has the truth to dish out.

You have added a new fan to your base today in my person, keep up the good work

This is awesome. I like the Q and A style. Congrats on your achievements! So glad to be following you @v4vapid!

Some nice piece of information !

Very cool! I've just discovered you myself, and not using any bots is highly respectible. You put out very good content, @v4vapid so I look forward to seeing what else you get out there!

It's really freaking awesome of you to give away 5k SP delegation. All I can say is WOW! I'm happy to be another follower seeing this level of greatness in the steemit community.

Best Regards,
@abn
The Armageddon Broadcast Network

Persistence is truly important. Good for you :)

This is fantastic. Thanks for your contribution to this unique platform. I also do 100% cuation and I don't like all that copy past stuff. Unfortunately I am not a crypto freak otherwise I would build on the top of steemit an only original post platform. This is what gives it real value.
All the best for you!

good post...

Congrats and thanks for delegation

congratulations on your 1-full year here on steemit. i hope i can reach that too.

value able content & happy anniversary

I too was turned onto steemit because of the possibility of getting my content to another audience without having to deal with some of the limitations of other social media sites. I have so far only posted content I have created for my philosophy courses I teach, and some random travel stuff. But I hope to begin pushing the boundaries a bit starting next year.

Good stuff.

It’s nice to hear about your experience looking back, the integrity you have found here, and how you’re paying it forward.

@v4vapid good to know about you ..and for one successful year congrats ..

Sup! I also manually curate. I was making a good profit on delegating to a bot, and i also tried auto-voting on authors I like, but that took the fun out of it. I buy upvotes from popular bots like @booster to promote my posts because why not, but I enjoy commenting and curating good stuff, even if what I upvote won't get me the best return.

Keep on steemin'!

Of these three:

Passion, Perseverence and Consistency

I only have Passion... But I wish my passion alone could be strong enough to make up for the other two!!

Glad to know there are people who'd like to give back to the community... I hope I become the same. I fear I might get drunk in power if I became a whale the future... hope not.
