Now, I'm quite sure there's much more awful, stupid stuff that's going to come our way as a result of what's happening in China and how few lessons our own political class have learned in the last few years. But we're actively building a life that is hopefully at least somewhat immune to that kind of stupidity.
Everything we've invested in the house, in our careers, and in our family has put us in a position to live the way we want in spite of whatever else is going on in the world. And since we should be fairly stable on those fronts, it's going to free us up to focus on some stuff that's been less "urgent", but also really important.
Namely, I have the most boring new years resolution imaginable right now, and it's to get in significantly better shape again.
But beyond that, channelling my fresh energy into healthier physical well being should help with my mental well being and hopefully more creative endeavours.
Not sure how much can be done, or how long this will last, but we shall see.
So, while I spend the rest of the evening watching disaster movies with the family, have a wonderful new year.
