RE: Ask this simple question

in #ocd4 years ago

This actually was the topic of our conversation with my friends yesterday while driving back home from a camp.
You see, I have a crush on this girl and she's all pretty and stuff. But I don't have any information about her intellect as she's just a crush and I haven't had the chance to talk to her. From all appearances she looks very attractive, but I told my friends that I need to know what's inside her first, then I can decide if I want to move forward or anything. :)

I've been reading the 12 Rules for life by Jordan Peterson and I'm almost done with it. It's a great read, I'm sure you'd enjoy reading it. <3

Hello! I think that having a crush on someone can be good if you take time to focus on what is inside as well. Often we tend to idealise the new person, imagining they are so awesome and fantastic. It is better to make a list of things in your mind to know what you would like to find out about this person. What does she value in life? Her plans for the future? Her hobbies? What does she do in free time, what kind of people does she surrounds herself with? I think it is important to find and discover slowly things about her character. In the end, it is the common principles and values which you share together the glue that will make you stick together. More than just the physical attraction. I think that we stay with someone for their mind, their personality, the way they make us feel. The brain is the sexiest organ lol.

I have read this book, it is very well written and direct. A good choice!

Can't argue that! :) <3
