After I had such a great snowshoeing experience near the Emmental two weeks ago, I just had to go there again to try out a new route. This time I even had to put some ☀️-block on! Winter at its best!

Wow, the deep blue sky is amazing. I spent this weekend in Prague. There was also a bit of snow. But i like winterlandscapes in the alps much more! :)

Our Winter now became foggy and warmer, it's about 10 degree C. But about a month ago snow was falling like crazy, there was 50cm of snow, we haven't seen that much snow in years. It's northern Serbia.

Dear @shaka it seems to me that the weather must be there very cold. We are also facing extreme cold in the Himalayan region of India. Many villages here received so much snowfall that their connection with the rest of the world has disrupted. Even in plains of northern India, the minimum temperature has dipped below the freezing point. Is this the result of global warming?

Ja, die Natur hat geliefert - aber es muß auch einer mit Kamera und dem richtigen Auge für das Szenario vor Ort sein! :)
Das schaut ja richtig klasse aus. Auf so einen tollen Anblick müssen wir wohl dieses Jahr in Unterfranken verzichten. Bei uns war es bisher nur mal ganz kurz eingezuckert. Deine Bilder sind fantastisch

Some people say that cloudy weather is the best type of weather for photography. I disagree. Particularly with the low winter sun, all kinds of interesting things can be done. Even in the harsh midday sun of the summer, interesting shadow photography can be done.
Cloudy weather can be a plus if one aims to capture details like flowers or portraits. The clouds then basically act as a natural lightbox that smoothens exposure and prevents drop shadows. Like in this example:
However, as for landscape photography, I completely agree with you that sunny skies are in most cases creating much better results. Maybe with the exception of certain melancholic settings like swamps or if one aims to capture dramatic weather sceneries.
Cloudy weather is good for precisely the purposes you're talking about. I've shot such pictures when the sky has been brightly and uniformly white. For example:

Fog is another favourite weather condition of mine for photography. In a fog, isolating the subject is easy. Everything is evenly lit and completely without shadows. Also, there is an element of mystery in a fog like in the below picture:
