I agree with a lot, there is a middle ground to be reached which I think a lot of people agree with. My big fear on this subject is that, as always bigoted people will seize upon some of the more contentious things that most people don't agree with and then shoehorn in their real bias which ultimately is against people not confirming to the norm.

Sigh, you're probably right. My biggest concern about the more recent development here is along those lines too. There always has to be the too extreme, be it too rigid to the point of dangerous or too outrageous to the point of dangerous, ruining the peace for the rest of us.
I think at the end of the day, most people would choose harmony, but there's always going to be the loud, obnoxious few that won't allow it, and apparently the sadistic people in power cheering the discord on.
