Lunchtime run: Run like the wind

in #running7 years ago

Today I decided to just go fairly fast for around 5km. I found a loop that looked about long enough and set off. It's definitely cooler than the weekend, but just right for t-shirt and shorts. The tracks go up and down a bit, but the pace felt good.

Towards the end I was flagging and walked a little, but I was happy with my time. That's my best 5km this year. I was struggling to get under 30 minutes recently, but I seem to have cracked it.

My half marathon is in less than 3 weeks. I won't be able to maintain this pace for that long, but I just want to finish it.

Good work, Steve… looks like you're on course!

Congrats man! Believe in yourself... I'm sure you will break that time many times more in the future!

This was excellent!!! You really improved your pace - congratulations for your best 5 km this year!

I wish I could start running! I guess I'd just start in small bursts?!

You can start with a mix of running and walking. There are training plans online to get started.

Yay! Go for it! Running has been very good to me :)

Cool
Your energy is contagious..

Thanks for your answer, have nice runs !

Thats a very dark and moody sky. If you got drenched, I guess you would have told us, or is is just a very dark picture?

It didn't rain on my run, but there was some rain after work. Not too bad

That looks like a big improvement @steevc. Well done! 😊

Important thing is to mix running and sprinting actually not to lose your muscle power because after all that power makes and extra meter when you need it :)

I love the simplicity and freedom of running. A pair of shoes and you are all set to explore new trails.
