Pensaba en mi amada esposa y en los años por venir después de un largo viaje por la vida y sentí la inspiración de escribir este poema, al cual puse por nombre:
Nuestro Futuro Horizonte

juntos hemos enfrentado los más grandes desafíos,
las penurias han aumentado nuestro amor,
y quizás separados hemos tenido que estar,
pero los pensamientos unidos nos han mantenido.
Ayer te seguía viendo hermosa y frágil,
eras la criatura que Dios me había dado a cuidar
y hoy te veo como te esfumas frente a mí,
deseaba yo seguir teniéndote a mi lado,
pero el reloj pronto anunciaría un adios.
Eres hermosa y radiante aún en tu vejez,
una sonrisa de amor se dibuja en tu rostro,
y una sonrisa de gratitud refleja
los actos de bondad compartidos,
tu serenidad me invitaba a pensar en un futuro cercano,
el horizonte se dibujaba con sueños de tenerte
y vivir la dicha del ayer,
pero resignado sabía que ya no estarías.
Tu horizonte y el mío estarían distanciados
el mío con la esperanza de volverte a ver,
el tuyo con la seguridad de reunirnos otra vez
