(REPOSTING DUE TO CENSORSHIP) I SUPPORT THE MOVE FROM STEEM TO HIVE

in #steem4 years ago (edited)

For more information:

It has been a long 4 years.

It's now time to move on from the SINMS burden that has been killing Steem, to greener pastures.

Just like @ned, @justinsunsteemit has no plan to honor the original intent of this ill-gained stake and will continue to trash the market, selling these tokens as we've seen leading up to this point. @justinsunsteemit has shown himself to be nothing more than a liar who will say whatever pleases whomever he is talking to at the moment, and is here strictly for quick profit by dumping tokens @ned sold to him at a significant discount.

There is now a better option (see here for complete info).

tl;dr

  • Re-branded hardfork of Steem
  • Airdropped on all real Steemians
  • Steemit, inc (J.S.) stake (SINMS) will not be honored/airdropped
  • Steemit, inc has no original developers to support Steem - this chain ALREADY has 20+ experienced devs
  • Many stakeholders, including @blocktrades, myself and others have offered financial resources to support development as needed
  • No insta-mined staked to be dumped on markets
  • Discussions are being had with exchanges - they will want to list this token
  • Freedom

With that being said, I won't be sticking around much longer.

Join us. It'll be worth it.

Following on Twitter. What do you think will happen to Splinterlands, nextcolony, etc?

Splinterlands announced that for the time being they will stay on Steem and possibly move down the line.

All I can say is let's fucking go!

I plan on checking it out for sure

Hi, while I agree with the sentiment and the need to rebuild to keep the community thriving, I'm a bit unnerved at the way this is happening.

I realize that we as people want to preserve and view this as a renovation to be reopened under new management. The thing is that because the blockchain will be copied, that effectively this will be taking over the IP that Sun has purchased.

My point is that, while I understand the temptation to save as much as possible, it may be safer to rebuild than to copy and renovate. It would be a tragedy to switch to hive, only to have it taken down by a cease and desist because of proprietary elements being stolen or whatever legal jiu jitsu will be attempted.

no expert, but what i know, code is open source, and even in steemit inc terms of use they say they have nothing to do with bloks written. so don't see any problems.

It does appear that the shift will not simply be taking code, but also accounts and content. In spite of all available optimism, I do hope that the people who committed to this have discussed any potential liabilities first with people who have a better grasp of the risks.

@berniesanders,
I think this is the very first time I agree with whatever you said lol :D
Thanks for financially backing up the freedom of STEEM via HIVE. See you there!

Hi @berniesanders, I am really happy to see your support for Hive. I have a question: one of the things that made me burn out on Steem was the vote buying through bidbots. Is this something you and other prominent community members plan to carry over to the Hive chain?

I hope you will be now fully active on hive and encourage curation ?

Thanks for these information, specially for the Link to Hive.

Are there any videos about your writing platform on YouTube? I've been looking all over YouTube to find one, and I wasn't able to find any. However, if you have a link to a video regarding your writing platform, I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide it to me. I'd be interested in watching that video to get a feel of what you're all about.

hey @berniesanders I'd like to see everyone on steemit remove their content and keep it on Hive, replaced with a link back to Hive, check out my idea at https://steemit.com/hive/@gringo211985/seo-solution-for-hive-io-let-s-take-our-content-with-us

giphy is supported by witness untersatz!

I am so glad about this move. Some of us have discarded facebook, and other centralized social media platforms for steem for over two years now. It would have been horrible to go back to them after so much fun on a decentralized platform. Good to be back!
