absolutely agree!
we risk to lose the real content creating goal. apps and tools are great to develope Steem, but it can't be the most rewarded subject on the platform, or it will miss its social identity.
agree about subcommunity too: I suggested that feature in the steemit.blog post asking about the priorities of the roadmap2018.
