Rather than trying to get big players to buy STEEM as investors. I think SteemIt should concentrate on getting users of the platform to buy STEEM POWER so that they participate in the platform more fully.

I'll work with what I have. I think it is quite possible to come up with 50. I know you are very proactive about campaigning to fix a lot of the platform's issues, which is good, but we need to have an evangelical side too where we actually talk positively about the project to the outside world. That is not to say that we mislead anyone or cover up things that are wrong, but even with all the issues we are facing, there is a lot of good going on too (IMO).
Once SMTs get launched next year...ERC-20 based token system will be a thing of past...
Just compare steem blockchain with ethereum...and you will have your reason to invest in steem...e.g. fast transaction speed, free of cost transactions and ability to handle high network traffic.
I agree. I still feel there is a place for "general purpose" blockchains such as Ethereum and EOS, but I do think that Steem will have a unique advantage in terms of the things we offer, and will carve out its own niche of success.

can you educate us what is the "general purpose" of ETHER and "specialized" purpose of STEEM that lends to 3 seconds transfer and more transactions per sec.

Well the three second confirmation times have more to do with us using DPoS instead of PoW. DPoS is much faster and more efficient than PoW in many ways.
Regarding "general purpose" vs "specialized", general purpose is setup to use smart contracts, which allow people to write applications to do pretty much anything. (Take CryptoKitties for example.) Specialized does not allow developers to create any app they want, but for the apps that are supported - it tries to do a really good job at doing them well. By specializing in a narrow niche, it allows us to become the best at it.
Gotta be honest , general purpose sounds evolutionary and specialized sounds creationist.
I am sure it's more nuanced than that in the details of the implementation. Maybe in the sense that specialized can support a class of apps vs choosing specific apps?
Well, if you go to google.com, what can you do? Search. That is pretty much it. Google.com does one thing, but they do it really well. Is it bad that google.com won't do your taxes for you?
That pre-supposes as a fact that one thing you do really well is a very valuable ( also the search function is then support by the complicated ad system in the background).
An evolutionary approach would let the system run multiple experiments and land on the one which has inherent value.
As I noted in previous comment it's possible that even within specialized nature , evolutionary models are supported by building for class of apps vs chosen apps.

That is great idea, in order to invest the people want to make sure that it is not a flop, who wants to lose their investment? Nobody.
There are many different reasons why we are on Steem community like myself, have been started exactly a year ago on 25.08.17 I am still there, since I started my blog, I have never been before in any of social media at all, this is my first experience. I found my hobby back after a pause of 15-17 years adn last 365 days I have created large number of artwork, only because I found people who supported me and other artists who encourage me. I learnt new mediums I never used before: acrylic and oil painting.

I think technology itself and technical features should be brought up when only asked about. I belive true selling power is in Steem communities that any investor can relate to based on their interests and can eaily be showcased. You like music? We have openmic, dsound, etc.
Kinda similar point to my "a place to spend your money - or earn it"
Investors will come in bulk to easy to conceptualize stuff, if people are buying water at a concert the investor buys more water. if it's beer, he calls that guy instead. If it's nothing, he goes and invests in movie theaters instead.
He never cares how the water filters or kegs work, only what people are buying or selling a lot of.

You could also farm steem, by buying Upvotes on your articles.
It is not possible to mine STEEM. With the Steem blockchain, blocks are produced by the witnesses. Witnesses are assigned blocks based on the amount of stake-weighted votes they receive from stakeholders.

so how did people mine it in the beginning ? I have always wondered ..was it the case that witness positions were limited to the selected few ?
Mining was supported at the time the blockchain originally launched, but was disabled in favor of 100% block production via witnesses in a previous hardfork.
Edited comment makes more sense... have witnesses to run services in lieu of mining.
If it really made sense, you would run....
A large amount was ninja mined and collected by Steemit Inc and early founders / investors. Then a very smart individual with a bunch of accounts with the word rabbit in them developed a GPU miner and basically was taking all the Proof of Work rewards at one point. Then everything switched over to Delegated Proof of Stake with all block production through the witness nodes. Most of which were put in power by an anonymous ninja mine account @freedom To my knowledge we never figured out who this account was. It might have been @dan or @ned . There were also other early accounts with huge amounts of power that solidified the oligarchy.
If you are into mazes you can check out the different wallet accounts that Steemit Inc has where they waterfall different funds down an intricate maze. I'm not sure why....because we can all see it. But it does get confusing.

I don't have a problem with the founder / owners getting rich but it has to be a factor when you are thinking about your money.
Satoshi's coins have never moved. They are constantly flowing to an exchange to be sold. If you look at https://steemit.com/@alpha/transfers You will see large sets of STEEM flowing to Bittrex to likely be dumped.
As investors we have to be aware of who might dump on our heads.

There are billions of dollars being left on the table, unclaimed for when Steemit.com does not utilize its platform for advertisement. Why?
I simply think that Steemit.com doesn't really need investors more than it needs to start its own advertising service. Allow people to advertise their amazon businesses or any kinds of businesses on the steemit platform. There is billions dollars worth to make out of simply advertising. Why not? Once steemit does this, bam! All problems solved.

Normally if there is a return from any marketable material, one needs to consider when the price of such material will fall and at the end will end up in a great yield. I think most investors have the mind of making profit and will also not mind if there is a loss. Steem is a most valuable resources at hand, so it will be nice if one invest on it and make a better return.
Investing in steem will also give the investors upper hand of coming in contact with a reputable investor. Through this medium , they can make friends and become coinvestors or partners.
