In this posting, I’d like to tell you my suggestion for further advance of Steemit.
It seems that the growth of the accounts become slow and the value of Steem keeps declining.
In this point, I think it is necessary to evaluate the policy of Steemit for the next development.
There are many things to consider, but here I’d like to suggest the Strategy of Steemit marketing.
We could say Steemit’s representative copy “Reward for writing”.
On going strategy to attract many people to Steemi is to highlight that if you write then you can make money. We all thought the reward for writing was excellent, but as we all know that policy does not attract people anymore.
On the contrary, the reward system seemed to make the constant complaints against the reward system.
In my opinion, Steemit needs to change its strategy to “Reward for Reading” from “Reward for writing”
As we all know, reading is much more important than writing.
The reading creates the real value, if people don’t read, the writing has no value.
Only the readers can increase the accounts in Steeemit.
The more accounts, the more valuable in the value evaluation of SNS.
First of all we need to admit that most of us can not make excellent contents continuously.
It means that the strategy focusing on the writers must be changed.
We need to focus on the Reader.
So our copy must be “Reward for Reading”
If we focus on the Readers, the excellent contents will follow to satisfy the needs of the Readers.
So it is inevitable the ratio for Curation Reward need to be changed higher to the extent that we can say “Read and Take the money”
I know there were similar suggestions before, but this is the time to think more seriously.
Look ‘Utube’. There are amounts of content. But the most important element in Utube system is not the creators but the consumers.
Who is consumer in Steemit ?
In my guess, the readers are real consumers in Steemit.
We all know, we need to think different for the success.
And I think it’s the time to think different and change our Strategy.

Hmmm, at the beginning of the post , I was kinda not getting the message but towards getting to the middle of the post I see your points clearly and I quickly agreed with it till the end.
So many amazing writeup that goes unnoticed simply because no one will visit them. The platform had lost some potential minnows to frustration of going unnoticed.

In my opinion both are important, writing and reading.
The problem is that too many poeple just don't read!
Yes, they are using steemovter to upvote their friends automatically, but who is really reading carefully what other people are writing? Who is seeking good articles and evaluating them manually? I know that's hard work, but new users only feel appreciated by the community if their post are read and commented by real humans and not bots only! New (and also existing) users feel attracted by the platform if they get the attention they need to feel welcomed here.

Yes, the key element especially for low SP users is to make a sensible comment for the articles of whom they follow which in turn should get a support in return, in that way the economy of steem/steemit will roll just like a robust economy. It will make our community robust.
And also grow as it will attract more people. In this light we just have to do every each other's roles, curators curating and content makers creating, and commentators reading and getting support from the upper echelon of steemit community. @slowwalker
First, this is hogwash: "As we all know, reading is much more important than writing." Writers (artists) are the attraction here. Without quality writing Steemit has no reason for existence. Get that straight, and use writer assets to attract readers. Promote your most saleable product...quality content!

yes writing is important, but reading makes the value of writing.
I guess the question comes down to which is easier to get, readers or skilled, trained practitioners of the writing craft. You've got some pretty talented people writing for Steemit, including one fellow I know about who's won two Emmys for his TV work. That kind of talent doesn't grow on trees.
The real consumer is and always will be the ones with money.
Two sides could be discussed here.
The writers and The Engagers.

It will be lopsided to give more attention to the reading alone for rewards

I used to disagree and think it should be more about creating content however in the last year it had become apparent that we really do need more readers and consumers of content. Everyone is too desperate to create content to be rewarded and yes, that has to change

I think you got the right point to discuss! Readers are the people who can more audience! Like you said, it's hard to write what audience prefer to read every day! So, reward system should follow like you said to get more audience!
More audience >> high ratings >> more investors >> more capital >> Steem price up!
So, it's all in one chain! But when you are trying to go for Reward for reading, I think a lot to be changed in the current scenario! I don't think the HF 20 might plan to do such change! But I wish HF 21 will concern what you said and thank you for providing such valuable input to the community and to the blockchain development as well!

I think your suggestion is excellent, I hope it is taken into account. In the time that I am in steemit I realize that very few people read the posts, because if they read the result would be different and the gains are better than the time lost good post and it is disappointing when you see that nobody has it and it's zero. I agree with you that the strategies would be reformulated because it is really quite demotivating . Even knowing that the content is good.

I thought that was in the Hardfork.
The curation is going up and the creator/ writing goes back into the pool.
I agree readers are important but what is to say they will not just vote to get the money and not read.
Kind of hard to know what will happen.

But you might be forgetting that Steem is evolving and becoming something more complex than a simple platform to post articles. There is the video front ends like @dtube and @dlive, the audio one @dsound , there is also the community about contributing to open source projects @utopian-io, and much other ways that use the Steem blockchain for rewarding content different than articles.
I agree that reading is more important than writing, it is similar to the case that listening is most important than talking. But reading itself is a valuable activity, I mean, when we read we are already rewarding ourselves with the knowledge that we are gathering from it, reading is naturally a rewarding thing to do.
I wonder how could readers be rewarded in a fair way? How could such a system be implemented without some users taking advantage of it?
With all due respect, the contents without reading have no value in any circumstances.
The adjustment of the curation reward will be enough to improve reading
I'm fairly new here so I don't understand all the dynamics of everything just yet. I think that might be a valuable concept. I try to only post things that are interesting to read, look at, etc. I might get lucky and have one or two people actually check it out. When they do, they leave a comment such as "upvote me". I'm feeling a bit frustrated with it. I want to feel as if somebody found something interesting in my posts. I think you're on to something here boss!

definitely there is no good writing without a reader giving it value, usually I like to share through the publications, but I think the greatest value that has steemit is reading, varied, enjoyable, pleasant, versatile, with various branches, I enjoy each publication and especially each contribution through my commentary, I had not thought of a reward for reading, but really attract a large audience.

How about 'Reward for Sharing'. User on steemit are sharing everything from rhe difderent aspect of life. Even though Steemit is focussing on writing manybuser are joiningbin and sharing few quotes, photos, there daily acitivity(ulogs) etc...as a strategybi feel steemit can consider this change as well. ....just my thought 🙏

Hello @slowwalker, I totally agree with you. Lot of peoples write up blog posts in steem blockchain. But everyone didn't gonna attracted anymore. But readers given massive support for growing rewards and steemit. If readers will satisfy something, they'll promote and invite for other citizens to other social medias. Then more investors come to this platform and invest to steem blockchain. Then our steem worth can bounce again.

And how canwe avoid customerfriendly writing? There must be a solution in between... Perhaps a new way to find the content someone is really interested in. We have to invent a new way to bring all three together: writer - content reader...

Writing is a way to express one's self and also to share ideas. At times those singular idea could ripple a strong positive change effect.
Imagine if no one took the time to write the compilations of books that made up the bible. The experience and thoughts of the past will not be able to make a major shift in consciousness today.

@slowwalker I truly agree. I am still a newbie here and work hard to create unique quality content. On the other side I love to read posts with quality, that inspire, inform or entertain. A completely agree, that the strategy should be more focusing on the writers - and - on the readers who love quality content.
The question for me is ... who will judge or select the if content is really a good read then ... readers have different motivations and preferences ... interest, time and much more ... is really every reader here interested in quality reads ?

Creating content is different from reading, this is a task for all of us who want to learn better to be able to write. the point is reading and writing are the power of the mind to find visible changes.

It sounds like you are talking about "Steem" but you keep using the word "steemit" .. so i'm a bit confused
And perhaps it's just a miswording as i think all of us did that at some point because it actually is confusing.
I feel like your suggestions aren't soley aimed at those who still use the steemit interface and include the rest of us who use other interfaces like busy, esteem or my favorite steempeak.com

If I understood you correctly, you're saying that once readers are being incentivized for curating great content, writers/contributors will enhance their work.
Instead of writing 10 average pieces, which will not give them any rewards from those readers, they'll work on 1 great piece which has a much higher chance to get those rewards.
So I guess the obvious first step would be to increase the curation rewards - maybe 50/50 is enough?

Many new users who are not getting the proper guideline are missing the whole point of being here ! So they are not learning anything about Blockchain or how they can contribute in Steemit resulting the decline in the user ratio !
While as soon as they start to give importance in reading and the content creators will as well get more interested in creating more quality contents out in here !

A lot of people don't read our writings and if you don't have any money then they never paid attention to us either a minimum effort.
I believe reading is as important as writing the way selling is as important as buying when trading. You can't have one without the other, but as you said, the more content creators come on the platform the more difficult it is to grow a profile around here so rewarding readers through upvotes for comments might keep them longer and help them get motivated to do both reading and writing. Unfortunately there aren't too many users rewarding the commenting readers as much as they reward content so we have a slightly less demand than offer.

if it's not appealing enough nobody wants to read it anymore
plus we can't really tell whether one is reading or not unless they put up a comment, ey?
but then, many don't feel like commenting anymore
cause some of us don't even bother to reply
or when some reply - it's too short
no emotions there it feels like talking to some wall
that makes you loose your appetite to reply
plus whether the content is well crafted
it would still not get to trending unless noticed by some kind whales
or support groups like curie and the likes
somehow everyone fell in some sort of circle jerks of voting
that sucks yes, a lot!
but that's the reality now
and you can either bid or buy ups to get noticed
or wait for a miracle to happen
so many really used to be wow content writers seem to be just posting for the sake of posting I noticed cause compared to how they post before

cause it's no longer "post value" that matters here unfortunately
Let us change our strategy on steemit.
