"Let's Make #philippines One Of The Most Visited Tags On Steemit". (Note): You Will Need Exertion & Self-Sacrifice To Read This Post.

in #steemit7 years ago

Calling all Philippines-based authors who create content under #philippines and other Philippines-based tags to join in here. This is a short post imploring you to join us in creating researched great content on every niche topic, here on steemit!

Note:

This message is also applicable to every newbie, finding his feet!

Basically, we want to try to instill a culture that actually involves "mining with minds", especially with newer steemians who are still finding their feet. This benefits everyone but benefits YOU the most!

How Does It Benefit You?

Well, by incessantly "mining with your mind", you create a better version of YOU. A better version of YOU, helps you tap into the heights of your potential, your true worth & purpose and from there on; you become extraordinary, a household name; "the sky, your limit!"

Why Mine Your Mind?

According to me, the mind is spanless; so it does need mining! Searching it out, unfolding it, in-and-out-ing it, defining and re-defining it and this takes conscious exerted effort. Your mind needs a flexing!

Steemit is designed to keep us in a loop of "mining with minds" as it provides us with a reputable community of great minds and allows us to mine our stake in steem (steem power), by creating valuable content, among other things. This instantly puts everyone at a level-playing field because regardless of educational achievements, status, language, etc you can create valuable content.

Yes, steemit isn't telling us to write codes or to combine two ions! It is simple telling us to create valuable content!

Also, if you never went to school; steemit is offering you school, for free!

So it is never about whether you can do it or not; it has always been a question of whether your are ready to exert yourself or not.

"Learn, then share" and if you have already learned; share what you have learned, so that you can have some space in your mind to learn more, so as to share again!

Now, even if you aren't very ready to exert yourself on behalf of others; be ready to exert yourself on behalf of yourself as this still does the world good.

Yes, here is one of my quotes: "The best version of YOU is a gift to humanity".

Steemit In The Past

When i started on steemit, a tag was made popular called #til (Today I Learned). It was done, to help steemit generate top-notch content. It was done to stir more people into "mining with minds", by learning new things daily and writing about what they have learned.

This involved doing in-depth research on various intriguing & fresh topics and creating content on these topics. in order to turn steemit into hub for the best information on the entire Web.

During this time, i also create Steem Lab and Steem Dump!

Infact, #til was made popular and supported by curators and steem power, to disrupt reddit.com and make steemit the new face of the INTERNET.

Too, it was done to attract reddit-like users or information-enthusiasts to steemit!

Reddit does have minimal interface design and is very much forum-like, yet it generates maximum traffic, even though people don't get to earn because as much as we keep thinking that people are all out to earn online, it is obvious that many people sought after information too, as Learning is the ultimate Earning.

According to me, steemit is very much: "Get rewarded for having a voice"; "Get rewarded for re-shaping boring internet"; "Get rewarded to inflict internet positively with a piece of awesome YOU"

With the combined power of great reputable steemian minds, steemit can easily generate enough information to find cure for cancer, cure for AIDS etc

So why can't you exert youself?

People did sleepless nights to even create steem and steemit. People do sleepless nights all around the world daily, to find lasting solutions against malaria and i tell you; "many of these people, have hardly come across mosquitoes. So, who are they exerting themselves for? Isn't it for YOU & me?"

Steemit Now & #philippines

I do want #philippines to standout when it comes to content.

Why look for attention? Why not attract attention?

We want #philippines to become among the most visited tags on steemit, because steemians all around steemit become aware, that is also a hub to some of the best information on entire steemit.

But this needs exertion, even self-sacrifice....

When you think of the word "mining", you can as well think "digging, depths, exertion" etc This doesn't necessarily mean strain but it does mean effort. And this effort can easily be fun, because it involves personal growth among other things; like ultimate EARNING e.g. vision-building, innovation, entrepreneurship, solid connections, human capital, enterprise etc

It is just like time spent in the gym; it can be very strenuous yet fun, because it is rewarding. A syringe pains but you will let your kid have it in, because it rewards. "Yoga can be painful too". "Hid treasure needs a digging!" "Precious stone needs refining!"

We want to improve content as seen on #philippines and other Philippines-related tags. This is optional but i do encourage it because overall it is fun and rewarding too, even in terms of getting upvotes!

Look at it this way, "if you have poor content and it earns 100$, you will be happy but people will talk; will ask questions and i am sure you want to avert that".

#philippines for instance; yes it is possible for curators to vote on every post they see, but note that, the reputation of a curator is also at stake, if they simply vote on every post.
In my case, i look at other factors beyond just content during curation, but that can't be the case with every curator!

The Deal

If you are a Philippines-based steemian, writing under #philippines and other Philippines-related tag, i invite you to pick any popular niche as seen on the right side of your feed and create researched content on any of the topics there, that you like. Your content should be research and you can get resources from the internet but paraphrase well, give references to additional sources as appropriate and shine as you fill steemit with fresh information.

Basically, don't let today emptily slip by without learning something and sharing. Well, even if you don't share, learn! This still constitute growth even on steemit as you will be able to interact better in conversations, understand steemit better and curate better, which all add value to the steem ecosystem.

Remember, even when you don't create content, curation also rewards!

E.g.

  • If the topic you chose is "business", you can write on "10 businesses you never knew exist"
  • If the topic you chose is "steem", you can write on "10 steem-friendly countries in the world".
  • If the topic you chose is "food", you can write on "How to cope with starvation in times of famine".
  • etc

Hahaha, aren't these topics above attractive? I am sure, you will at least click on them and likely vote on them too!

What Exactly Is Easy?

"Nothing!"

Simply write researched content on any niche-topic and submit me the URL to me in a comment here, over the course of the next 7 days and i will look to support those posts with upvotes.

Don't despair because you can do it!

All the resources are on the internet! Just do research; have fun by choosing a topic that you have always wanted to learn about; then learn and share what you have learned with us, in a steemit post.

Please remember to leave reference to source URLs for your eventual steemit post!

Note: You can also submit to me posts that aren't research but developed from your experience but be sure that your post teaches something new; something fresh; something that sparks interest; something that is powerful etc.

e.g look at this post by @stellabelle

Simple examples of researched posts:

https://steemit.com/health/@krnel/calorie-restriction-and-extended-lifespans-it-s-not-just-what-you-eat-but-what-you-smell-too

https://steemit.com/health/@krnel/calorie-restriction-and-extended-lifespans-it-s-not-just-what-you-eat-but-what-you-smell-too

Note that @stellabelle, @krnel and @sirwinchester have 6,037, 3,452, 4,360 followers respectively & a reputation of  75, 76, & 75 respectively.

Let's pause....

This is great advice Terry! It is also excellent teaching. Not only did you share information, you included concrete examples and suggestions. Very well done. I hope many community members listen to your advice.

By the way, TILs are also a lot of fun to write. I'm so glad you reminded people of these!

Exactly. I wrote a lot of those. Infact my first real earning earlier on steemit came from writing intriguing posts of that format. Overall, this post was a reminder like you called it and #philippines needs it. Plus, i was recalling some history as some newer steemians may this information for evolution. Plus, newer steemians can follow suit

a very great comment of appreciation that will keep terry motivated 😍😍 blessing to have seniors like u on steemit

It is not about how good of a writer you are.
It is about the substance of your writing.

HOW DEEP DO YOU GO?

HOW MUCH DO YOU CARE ABOUT OTHERS?

The deeper you go and the more you care about others, the more you'll be rewarded (after you get noticed).....

I'm finding amazing writers now on steemit.......please help me find more.

Thanks for mentioning my post! I do feel this overwhelming need to bat people over their heads and shout:

STEEM IS MINING WITH OUR MINDS!!!!!

it really is designed that way! Anyway, it's so nice to see you getting stronger every day! I remember when before you quit your dayjob, you knew in your heart that Steem was it for you. And now you are making things flower! Your energy has made your reality! It's really insane how that happened. I have seen others who have done the same thing.....you all have this one thing in common: a true passionate heart full of energy and love!

Hahaha, feel free when you scream. Yes, we all have that one thing in common. You and me and the others who you have seen!

Hi @surpassinggoogle i have fallen in love with this post because the message is very clear to all steemians if you want to come up with a meaningfully post you have to research on it as a way of mining ones brain inorder to come up with a good content that will earn upvotes and rewards, also i like your idea of #Philippines it is a way of promoting steemit in your country and the society at large through teaching steemians how to come up with a good content for a post, lastly i do love what you are doing keep up been innovative and encouraging sir i really like you ways nigga.

I fell in love with your awesome. Your comment here explained you and your awesomeness. You saw my underlying message for everyone, same as you saw the community message. Just awesome!

So much love... I wish the world was filled with this amount of love you guys are sharing on Steemit!

Nothing is easy! Indeed it will take a lot of effort and a number of dedicated steemians to get #philippines into the top tags and we hope to be part of the community that is able to do that. It means we will grow, get better, and shine here on steemit.

Thanks for the enlightenment as always @surpassinggoogle.

Yes, it does take effort. You put effort and you are already are shining.

Oh, thanks for these encouraging words. They mean a lot! I hope it also encourages others to be patient, give a lot of thought to their posts and also to help bring out the best in fellow steemians. 😉

Even though I'm not Philippines-based I do applaud your effort.

The way you're opening people's minds to think further than most would even dare is something I keep propagating in my surroundings constantly. Sometimes to such extends that people get bored with it, but that's life.

I never check for posts based on locations, because that only interests me if I (have to) go there, or if there is something big happening there.
What I am interested in are new development, self-expression, business, (sometimes) movies or tv-series and much more.

I'm lucky enough to be able to spend a large amount of my time on Steemit, so I probably see more than the average user.

As long as one of the Philippines-based posts also has other relevant tags, there is a decent chance I will read it and comment/upvote.

Thanks for this post, we need more people taking the users by the hand and think further, let's not forget we're at the forefront right now with Steem(it).

Awesome. Glad you saw the underlying message which was for everyone. However, i wrote for #philippines cos it needed this reminders. Overall, these are just location and #philippines is not an isolation from the rest of steemit.

You got all my points. Even you can leave a link to this post, if you do one. The message here to spur on self-sacrificing effort, love for humanity and self etc like you try to instill in your surrounding. Quality is bound to come along afterall

Some times, I wonder if you and I are of the same mind> My reason for this was that last Saturday, I was with my brother who is new steemian @hormorhk18 and we were discussing how steemit reborn my sense of humour into something more precious. I told him that steemit is not just a platform where we all write to make money, but steemit is a realm where you can learn new stuffs every living day without discomfort. Like a fellow steemian @steve1122 always says "steemit, is not about the money but about being a part of something greater". I give a thumbs up for those words but I will say steemit is a previlage not an opportunity. I will advice all steemians to take heed to all you have stated above.

LEARNING NEVER ENDS

Awesome. Overall though, i am funnier than you. Why does a squirrel swim with its back? "To keep its nuts dry!"

Haven't you heard? He is rehearsing backstrokes for the next Olympics. I am serious about it

And philippines is now the number 2 of using steemit... and we are so lucky, a filipino citizen to have one like Terry a.k.a @surpassinggoogle that is really solid supporting us! I am one of the people always listen to his advice. Now, I have my own standard of blog.

Happy 1st year here in steemit @surpassinggoogle!!!

hello @surpassinggoogle, im new at steemit. i love what this site is doing,
and right now I'm a new member of Steemit POWERUP.ph and Steemit Family Philippines.https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@febradaytamarra/here-am-i-steemians

Now i see a Witness at work...

Well i have stolen my portion of this post, watchout for it😎

Great. Submit it! There always ideas everywhere. I created idea factory for anyone lacking post ideas but i got busy. When i have space, we will make a great venture out of it

Kudos to you Terry!!! I hope you never get tired of promoting steemit to the Filipinos. You are the "encouragement" for the young and the old. You will soon be shaping the lives of those whom you touched by your kind heart.... and I so hope that #philippines gets it to the top. All I can say is you are awesome and everyone following your path will be rewarded for believing in you... you simply rock! Thank you for your wonderful gift to the Filipinos. Mabuhay ka Terry!

Posting the link of my latest post which I´d like to share to all my kababayans from a Filipina blogger outside the Philippines. To all of you who have problems or issues with sugar, you can still bake this recipe by using stevia powder... it´s a plant based sweetener
https://steemit.com/food/@mers/apple-tart-let-s-try-oma-s-recipe-bake-this-without-sugar

Really strong comment! Thank you

Once again a challenge. Thank you for always making efforts in encouraging for great contents to make steemit a better place and #philippines shine brighter than before.Pinoys are smart, creative, resourceful and a lot of other things. I am sure more quality contents will come along. 😉

Yes, they are and i see this and know it. I feel overall, there is need to teach of the things that happened in the past as well and many other things that i can only mention underlyingly. One thing to note is #philippines always existed and the community as well before it went behind the scenes. We can avoid a repeat. Too, newer steemians from PH are joining, examples help. I think in one post, i will mention examples. Overall, the underlying message in this post is not ability, smartness etc. It is the deep message of "self-sacrifice" even towards oneself. We learn that, then it will get easier to self-sacrifice towards others and want to impart regardless

What a wonderful and inspiring initiative. I hope to be working with steemph myself in the near future to help increase awareness of the Philippines presence here. I am not from the Philippines but support the countries growth through steemit and will help wherever I can.
It is great work you are doing yourself with that beautiful tag - surpassinggoogle - with this surge of intention all sorts of things are possible. The power of group consciousness is not to be underestimated and as such I see steemit and #philippines soaring quickly to realise their full potential and fulfilling their goals.
BIG THUMBS UP to you @surpassinggoogle We will all do whatever we can to grow and help the Philippines community grow. Mining with our minds =)
Upvoted and resteemed.

Sweet! Thank you alot for support and for feeling this post. Yes, community is powerful

@surpassinggoogle what is steemgigs ?.. im just curios ..

I wrote a post about it just now

oh.. ok tnx.

This is really something worth to read Terry, I enjoyed my time reading this and I quote below what striking to me. Philippines has lot of space for steemit and as this platform grow our mind grow bigger as well. I resteemed this and hope more people will see this post. Upvoted, really great job!

@surpassinggoogle

ever since you had me visit your page, I am more fired up to make more posts about things I would like to learn.

This here is a learning process of me being a reviewer of new tech that I would personally own.

https://steemit.com/gaming/@shote.said/math-smartphone-1-5-an-average-joe-s-review

I hope you will enjoy it.

I would like to take this time to post a friend's blog/itenerary when she went to Japan for as little as PHP13K.

https://steemit.com/funtravel/@smb14/solo-back-packing-in-japan-tokyo-and-kawaguchiko-a-travel-guide-for-only-usd260-jpy28070-php13000

@smb14

Yes. You do need fire. You can test out your product before a community that isn't fam and friend and use feedback to improve. #steemgigs was created to help people look in that direction

#philippines rocking on steemit good to see lots of content creator using that hashtag very nice work

Hello!)) I'm not from Filipin, but I like your idea of uniting people from Filipin))) I wish you success))) My voice is for you and for the post and for the witness))))

Thank you alot. The underlying message in the post is for everyone. Stay awesome. Thank you alot for supporting the witness. My witness name is "steemgigs". My last post shows what #steemgigs accomplishes. Thank you for putting effort in your comment

Hi @surpassinggoogle, here's another research that i made about the delicious dishes in the philippines, i hope this will help other people to love philippines :) enjoy reading
https://steemit.com/food/@asbonclz/twelve-delicious-dishes-that-best-describes-the-philippine-cuisine

Thanks again for your message. The ideas and suggestions of innovative.. This is exactly the kind of input we need to better serve our members' needs. @surpassinggoogle

this is excellent stuff man you are leading all the way !! :)

Thank you alot

Great post again!!! More power to everyone from the Philippines. We hope we can push this tag as the community from Aceh is doing. They are doing a great job on promoting their land. I know we can do this too! To the top!!!!

Sure thing!

thanks friend for your support we go forward educating and educating. what is my small contribution in education and art in the learning of children.
https://steemit.com/steemiteducation/@roseri/motherhood-with-purpose-3-the-importance-of-the-art-in-the-boys

Excellent post dear friend, thank you to the jurors is that steemit progresses every day more and is becoming the most powerful social network in the world @surpassinggoogle

No doubt, no doubt

Yes... I like the post.. may someday I can come to your country to meet steemian from philipina.

Amazing post @surpassinggoogle, full of knowledge and information and it surely helpful for all steemit community, mine your mind and think what you learned and then share it amazing words and also in this way we are able to find out our niche. have a great day and thanks for sharing

Awesome. You grasped

brilliant break down of a complicated process. Ive been encouraging other steemians to do the same thing here in #vietnam. Represent SE Asia! Let's make a mark on the steemit train! The power of the hashtag is mighty.

I think you are the first steemian from vietnam i have seen

Well, Im American but I've been over here for about 8 years. However, about 2 weeks ago the government just legalised cryptocurrency so I suspect it will rapidly grow. But yes, other than me and 3 others I know, there aren't really any people using it yet. We're trying to share it with as many people as we can, and are using the #vietnam tag in every post in order get the ball rolling. Like the Phil. there is so much beauty that the world needs to see. I wish you luck sharing your country with the world. I will be looking out for your posts. We are also going to start using #InSeAsia as well, in order to broaden the spectrum. The more, the merrier for this one. ASEAN UNITE! Followed!

Yes, we can work something out in conversation but you need to pace things and grow in your journey as well. Maintain the tag and stay consistent, the numbers will grow.

Sure thing. Great advice. You can find me on discord if you like (#4399). Take care and thanks!

Surpassing Google ... that's interesting name. Your high aims clearly depict in your name and in this post as well. Going through your post....

So on point. Thank you!

Thanks Terry. By the way, it was a very really enthusiastic post and perfect guide for the minnows. Most of them find trouble in writing new content so you gave them the right guideline, "If the topic you chose is "business", you can write on "10 businesses you never knew exist"
If the topic you chose is "steem", you can write on "10 steem-friendly countries in the world".
If the topic you chose is "food", you can write on "How to cope with starvation in times of famine".
etc"...

By the way, I also wrote a post for the beginners and I am sure you'll be generous enough to take a look at it: How I Earn $69000 At Steemit By August 2018.

Keep up the good work and for sure got a loyal supporter.

Will visit!

Appreciate that!

Once again great article. Don't know if its just me. But It looks likes the Philippines community is al ready growing here.

Markush

It is..but not yet the 1%.

It is

for those who are looking for quality content or inspiration, medium.com is a great place to start researching

Well, no doubt you can use that as resource but "steemit" it is when it comes to a community and true connection.

Very good for philippines. And should start to implement more tags per country, this would give a bit of diversification, both in culture and in the differentiation of languages, among others

I think it's not a good idea. It's prone to criticism and other nations just don't know the word "pakisama". That will just create divide . . . I guess ^^

but we will always see the same tags. Bitcoin. Life art. The idea is to increase users. Or simply have a more personalized menu

Yes, everyone can create a tag. Just start using one, post about it to appeal to people and build a community using steemit.chat or discord and work together. This post had an underlying message applicable to every steemian

you are doing great work for your nation and also for steemit

Thank you a lot. The underlying message is for everyone though

Congrats on philippines..😊
@surpassinggoogle doing a great stuff for philippine..☺ Found your sister @cathey in trending in that tag.. I'm very glad if there a famous tag to my country too..🤗
Your article is very important and very helpful...
Upvoted for you..👌👍🙌

Really on trending? Amazing! I am glad she is here too. As for trending, it isn't exactly about the tag. overtime as you evolve, you will trend

Yeah.. Her introducemyself post on trending... check this out..
https://steemit.com/trending/philippines

I will this to my newly invites people I agree #philippines should have a quality content post we will push this and work out to become a better Philippine steemian.

Not totally about the quality, more about the effort! Stay awesome!

Very interesting and informative post. I have a question I m from India and if I tag Philippines-related tags is there any problem? Do you allow me to do so.

Nope, no need to do so. You can share your url with me freely but no need to use that tag. This post is open for 7 days

Ok don't be angry. I will never use this tag. Thanks.

I love this philosophy here.
It helps us create more space so we can learn again and repeat the cycle.

"Learn, then share" and if you have already learned; share what you have learned, so that you can have some space in your mind to learn more, so as to share again!

You awesome! No doubt

I am awesome and thanks for introducing your sister @cathey to Steemit.

I am glad she is here. Thank you

How to quote something like this? Like how to write the code of the post? :) Thanks :D

Does this work well, building up the hash tag? As you know I am trying to build up a Toronto/Canada community and appreciate any advice! Keep it up and I would love to support and be apart of #philippines community also :D.

Well, for this post, You can submit me a top post in a comment. You can build a community just for Canada. But i would think one already exists, so you will need to ask. They may also have a hangout on steemit.chat or discord. But if one doesn't exist, you may want to build one. One of my best friends is in Canada but i am still waiting for his intro post

Thank you for this informed post. I wonder if I should keep a focus on Toronto, as it's a big enough city alone and I initially wanted to focus on those meetups being it's local. Just started a discord channel and will create one in Steemit.chat also.

Great! @firepower can help you create one on steemit.chat

#philippines is mostly for Filipino-based steemians

Great initiative, I do my part and always post with #philippines. Will also try to upvote more with literally my 2 cents :)

Yes. If you write a hot post though in the next 7 days, submit me the link here

I already have a topic in mind. Will post when it's done.

@surpassinggoogle you have really inspire me to start #Kenyans for my people back in Kenya so that we can as well interact & learn how to come up with good contents for post also l do like your quote"The best version of you is a gift to Humanity"thank you ma boy Terry.

This is great Terry! I especially like this part:

What Exactly Is Easy?

"Nothing!"

You are evidence that, this all works

Thanks Terry! Those wonderful words coming from you are greatly appreciated! You da man!

I like that part too.

Hard work pays off though - and they also said that 'easy come, easy go'.

So proud of you Dev! 😉 Now, can you please help me with this humans on my phone, what to do with the gift card? Txt me soon! Thank you. And send me the account # for the T-shirt payment. I have to send it soon before I get broke lol

Thank you so much Gil!

Haha. Okay I'll txt you.

i am. Happy that atleast this night i learn new thing. thanks for you @surapssinggoogle you always post informative topics. Thank you so much.

You are doing great job @surpassinggoogle This feature will be helpful for #philippines community and specially for steemit

Yes, for steemit overall

if it ain't hard it isn't worth it

Thank you for always challenging the community to keep marching forward. Not sure that I am ready to take the challenge yet, but will keep on trying hard. I will make it a personal goal to only post under the #philippines tag from here on, work that I can truly be proud of.

Well, don't be restricted by tags. Underlying message here is not necessarily the quality. more like the self-sacrificing effort, which will reflect even if quality is poor and will still impact and incite people into upvoting. So any post you feel like, submit link here while this post is still active

You do not want to face the wrath of my bunghole!!

Amazing post @surpassinggoogle, full of knowledge and information and it surely helpful for all steemit community, mine your mind and think what you learned and then share it amazing words and also in this way we are able to find out our niche. have a great day and thanks for sharing :)

Awesome comment

Hihi

Thank you for this opportunity Sir, I would like to try my post, I hope this will help our community even if it's just for a tiny bit :-)
