Apply here for dolphin support: 400-800 SP accounts.

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Edit: a more complete project description is now available here at the project's top-level account @themesopotamians.

So I'm preparing to start the second level of my leveling-up system for Steem that I started with @doctorworm. That account is set up to get new users from zero to 500 SP, and this one will be intended to get users from 500-1100.

However, while I have no shortage of plankton/redfish I want to support, I'm having a harder time finding small minnows, so I thought I would open this one up to general applications. Here are the criteria:

  1. You must have between 400 and 800 native SP. (Before calculating any delegation.)
  2. You must be a community-oriented poster, and have some evidence to show for that. (This is open-ended partly so you can tell me what it means to you.)
  3. Your long-term Steem strategy must be to grow your account.

Be aware that since I'm basically handing out money here I feel no obligation to be fair in my choices.

What you get is a minute-zero upvote for as long as you continue to support the community and grow your account, until you have 1100 SP, at which point you will have the opportunity to complete a quest to move to Level Three. Once you're in this system as long as you keep going you'll be a dolphin before we're done.

There are no requirements to support the system in return, though obviously I appreciate it if you do, and it will help me advance more users in the future.

There's no fixed number of users, but I'm looking to vote a total of about fifty posts a week from an account that will start with 2000 SP, starting in ten days or so.

To apply leave a comment here with something about who you are, what your community participation level is, and what you would like it to be in the future.

707.480 is my current SP and I lease another 1000 to give me enough voting power to had out votes to help grow the plankton that are featured in my Pay It Forward Curation Contest.

The PIF Curation contest is designed to help level 50 and below steemians gain more exposure. A group of curators create entry posts where they feature 2 level 50 or below steemians who wrote a great post that deserves some added votes and attention. We have had multiple posts featured which later were picked up by Curie...which tells me we have a few quality curators taking part in the contest!

Side note we are always looking for more people to join the contest and help us find even more great plankton and minnows to feature!

This contest is pretty much my focus each week as it is very time consuming, but I also help with Steem Greeters Guild and just had my first post published for SteemBasicIncome and will be helping with other posts there to keep them growing. All of these efforts are focused on helping members of steemit continue their growth.

Plans over the near future are to get PIF it's own account, build a PIF vote trail to allow some larger members of steemit to be able to reward the top featured blog posts without having to invest the time into reading all of the entries, and to build up an account which will be used to adopt the best featured bloggers each week and help support them and get them past the 60 day mark and reduce the churn rate of new accounts.

Now while all of this is designed to help others grow and some might think I'm not trying hard enough to grow my account. The give first and then receive approach also helps me grow. Our PIF contest curators' accounts grow each week and their votes keep increasing which helps me grow and give them even larger votes and the circle of growth continues week after week. Plus more newbies we can get hooked on steemit the better chance we have of steem going up in value which helps all of our investments. Win-Win for everyone is the way I see this and so far it's been working nicely.

Anyways that is me and what my future plans are. Any support is always welcome!

I pretty much already implied it but here's your official congratulations message. Watch @m-sargon for details as I get this started.

Thank you! Look forward to seeing this program in action and please let me know if you ever need anything on my end.

Thanks for the application. If I'd realized you were eligible I'd have bugged you earlier. I really love PIF and it's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for here.

Thanks for pointing this out to me. Been one of those weeks where I am jumping on for 10 minute here, 30 minutes there, and really mainly just focusing on my PIF efforts. Some weeks that is the only thing that gets done, but it always is done. Can't ignore the efforts of those taking the time to curate others and don't ever want to short change those who were featured by the curators.

That's a great thing your doing .
Your support for the PIF curation contest would provides and helps redfish move up to the next level . With your support behind @thedarkhorse , PIF that number would increase dramatically . Also allowing PIF to be self sustaining for the future of the platform .
It answers both your community and growth requirement with a bonus of it easy to monitor

I'm a little late getting in on this, but I totally missed thedarkhorse 'applying' here and wanted to give him my full endorsement!

I really like your Pay It Forward curation contest and I think it would be wonderful if it can get more support. Your project helps the smallest fish who needs the most support.

Thank you! Have been hearing more and more people mention PIF and that has really motivated me to start organizing to move this to the next level.

My full support to @thedarkhorse! His contest is beautiful and I intend to participate every week and often fail. But he does so much for the community and really needs to have more SP in his account and not be in need to lease it!

I'd lease the 1,000 no matter what as I've made a long term commitment for it which got me a reduced rate. Nice win-win situation with that. But I still need way more SP to do what I'd like to be able to achieve.

Thanks for your support!

Thank you for an amazing initiative @tcpolymath. I love the #payitforward contest and what it does for newbies. For what it is worth, I think to strengthen @thedarkhorse in his tireless and selfless pursuit of PIF's goals would be an awesome application of the help you are making available.

Happy to see an organization like this. I know you will do your best. Good Luck.

hello @tcpolymath ! 👋

this is a great initiative and i am glad to see so many wonderful people already applying :D it shows a real genuine community feel, specially with other people vouching for those that put their hands up <3 amazing vibes!

as for me, i'm kind of shy of 400 SP, at 357SP, but I have around 100SBD that I'm waiting to convert to SP when the price is agreeable... haha. I have never taken SBD out of the blockchain so far since my goal is to grow and to be able to support others on the blockchain :> I don't think I'll take any SBDs out in the foreseeable future, either :D

I am active at the art communities, having a moderator role at Steem Artists and SteemRepo, and with the wonderful Curie people also, and at C-Squared, curating and finding good artists to promote and appreciate :> I've recently been made an art curator there, and I am humbled and grateful and I will continue to discover, highlight and curate quality arts for Steemit.

My long term goal is to be able to influence the Trending page for the art tag at the blockchain so that the entire platform's content as blogging platform is lifted. But my current goal is to be able to connect to others, and to help them find their footing and their homes here, at Steemit :)

I already said you're in more than once but here's an official "you're in" with the others. Watch @m-sargon for details as I get this started.

omg thanks so muccccccccchhhhh :D

watches @m-sargon now

First off @tcpolymath, this is an amazing thing you're doing for the community, and I personally want to thank you for caring enough to do it.

Beyond that I want to put a little weight behind @veryspider here. From the first day I got on the platform she's supported not only me, but the entire art community here. If you're an artist on Steemit, you know @veryspider, and more than likely she's supported you with an upvote as well as words of encouragement about your work.

She's not only a huge presence in curating and supporting artist but also a high quality and consistent contributor in her own right typically posting high quality original content daily. I hope you'll consider her for this opportunity :)

This is a really great project?!! It's rare to find something like this on Steemit, so thank you @tcpolymath for being awesome 👍.

I have to agree with @midlet here, @veryspider is really a great asset for Steemit community because she's really active, helpful, and positive individual who is also a very talented artist. She supports me and other artists with her exuberant comments, both on Discord and Steemit, and her presence brighten my days and motivate me to be a better artist and person.

She dedicates her time and attention to showcase undiscovered talent, often the posts that she resteemed get picked up by big curators, so I think those people agree with me.

I have witnessed that she means what she said about making the art tag on Steemit better, not only that she highlights good posts, @veryspider also fights with plagiarists regularly and she tries hard to educate artists who are unaware about the important issue.

And you should know that it takes me close to an hour to write serious comment like this because I fumble with words so I really mean what I said here :3.

spider, you have my sword, and my bow, and my axe!!!
(I don't have any of these items)

Edit: oh and if her Steem Power is not enough, I am quite happy to give some of mine to hers because then she will be indebted to me and pay me back with lovely comments huhuhu.

I've been a fan for a while, and you're definitely in. I feel like I should apologize to the people below for not getting to this comment right away.

as for me, i'm kind of shy of 400 SP, at 357SP, but I have around 100SBD that I'm waiting to convert to SP when the price is agreeable

As long as you're planning to convert it I'm fine with that.

Awesome! :D

Yessir, I definitely am itching to convert :D

Haven't taken SBDs out and no plans to do so :> I wanna ... I wanna gives cents to people XD Wonderful quality contents generators need to be appreciated!!

🕷🕷🕷

congrats ;)

I think it’s commendable what you are doing. I don’t post very often and for some reason, am only inspired to write when I have something to say about Steemit! Lol, we know those kind of posts don’t pay for a small redfish (guess I am a minnow then with 400 SP?)

Can I nominate someone else? @davemccoy is the co-founder of our @newbieresteemday community. We started nearly 6 months ago with the goal of helping newbies and minnows grow on here by giving advice, mentorship, encouragement and a small upvote with the @newbieresteemday account. All of our members volunteer their time, SBD, or SP. Dave is the pillar of the community who is continuously helping others, myself included. I would have given up a long time ago if it hadn’t been for him, but instead I decided to stick around and even purchased more Steem. Many people have told us they would have quit themselves a long time ago if not for meeting our community.

I know Dave is at 350 SP and has not reached the 400 SP requirement yet. If this is a problem, I would happily purchase 50 STEEM on binance and send to his account. He does amazing things for others and I would happily do this for him so he can grow and continue to help others.

Edited: Forgot to mention Dave worked with danielsaori to create @dustsweeper, the friendly bot that gives the small upvote so a comment or post can meet the 0.02 dust threshold. There are many newbies and minnows that lose their 1cent vote and @dustsweeper comes in later to give value to the upvote given by a newbie. It let newbies know their voice matters, their upvote counts.

@davemccoy accepted. I don't know if all of you also want to watch @m-sargon but you're welcome to.

Thank you very much @tcpolymath! I will check out @m-sargon! I love this initiative and commend you on what you are doing to help the next generation grow! :)

That is awesome @tcpolymath! I will stop by there to show my support.

I know Dave is at 350 SP and has not reached the 400 SP requirement yet. If this is a problem, I would happily purchase 50 STEEM on binance and send to his account.

Well that's a hell of a recommendation. I certainly see Dave around everywhere and will be happy to consider him. Thanks for the nomination.

After looking at the people applying, I think you have a lot of strong candidates and I would be in tough competition with them. As such, I've decided to instead throw my support behind a bid for @davemccoy to be selected.

I truly believe that if you pick Dave for to be a part of this program, that the community will be better for it. Dave works tirelessly to help newbies and more-established folks alike to engage better, be more informed, and be more successful Steemians overall. He's a huge asset to the community, and in my opinion is the epitome of a community-builder. If you want to maximize your impact in the Steemit community with your VP, pointing it in Dave's direction is would be a fantastic decision.

Thanks for being such a great example to all of us, Dave!

Thank you very much Blondie! :)

You're welcome! I'm excited to see that you're going to get to be a part of the support program. You deserve it and I'm excited to see how far this takes you!

@themanwithnoname thank you very much Blondie!

Thanks @tcpolymath, that is awesome. 🙂

I mean every word of it too, if the SP threshold is a big factor of your criteria. There are not many people who help others unselfishly and I consider Dave to be one of those individuals. I would prefer to not buy more Steem until the next dip 😁, but will happily do so for him to qualify. I know every bit of support on here matters and what you are doing is an excellent initiative to supporting others.

I think we're in the next dip, lol.

Can it go down a bit more? Then it can soar as high as it wants. :)

I completely second @beeyou's nomination, @tcpolymath.
@davemccoy has done so many things for so many people,... I can't think of anyone else who would deserve this more. (And if necessary, I'll split the money to get his SP up with you, @beeyou.)

Hey @simplymike. I just saw your comment. Dave was accepted! Yay! We can save our Steem for steemmonster cards 😂

Thank you very much for the nice recommendation... I must've missed all this as I have been focusing too much on the steemonsters lately! :P You're awesome @beeyou :)

It’s not just me, you have a bunch of supporters. You just have to scroll down to see how much everyone appreciates all you do for the community! YOU are awesome. 🙂

@beeyou awww.... thank you for such a nice compliment! And for your help :)

Yay!!! 👍😂
And it’s awesome that Dave was accepted!

Hey @simplymike. I just saw your comment. Dave was accepted! Yay! We can save our Steem for steemmonster cards 😂

Thank you very much @simplymike! :)... we need to get on that game for newbie games, I have a hunch it will help many!

Okay, I'll start with my current stats, from my steemworld page SP levels:
598.37 SP ( 577.52 + 50.91 - 30.06 )
I have a native supply of SP of 577, and a delegation of 50Sp from @davemccoy, and I have a few small delegations I have made.
Item 1. covered.

Item 2. This is not easy. First off, I have to say that I am not really a content creator, I am primarily a content user. Most of the content I have created is for contest, and justbecause thingies I wanted to share, (music, videos, other peoples content).

I am however very much new user oriented. I like to help the new user, I love voting, giving my two cents and commenting. I have been a strong supporter of @newbieresteemday since its inception. Currently my longest running consistency since being on steemit, I will be issuing my week 22 post for newbiersteemday on Sunday.

I signed up for vote and comment tracking with Asher (@abh12345), not for the rewards, but initially to see where my level of engagement was on steemit. (I am sure you know but some reading this may not), that he provides a table showing us how well we are doing in engagement he has a formula that he developed and every week he runs his data pull and then shows us how well we did that week. In recent weeks,(its summer, nice weather), my engagement levels have slipped a little bit, but still doing pretty good I think.

@dustsweeper, this is one of the most important developments in steemit, and I fully support it, I have to let people know about it, and do so on a pretty regular basis.

I am involved in a very very community oriented game/challenge on steemit @IFC, it stands for Information Finding Championship, and was created by @apolymask. This is what probably 68 percent of my created content is for the last 6 months, it has been really fun, and it is a great group of people. (So any readers looking for some challenges and out the box/freestyle thinking, take a look at @IFC).

I participate in a few different Discord channels, and learned a lesson about spreading myself to thin, so I had to thin my discord channels out, will likely need to do that again pretty soon, I built up to having 14 discord channel, then thinned back to four, and now the numbers grow again. oh well, such is life.

Enough for number 2.

Number 3. My long term strategy has been to power up as much of my SBD's as I can into Steem then power that to SP. But the converting SBD's to steem, honestly has slacked off a little bit, because I have my slider, and well now I have a lot of things that I can help support with SBD's. It's a real conundrum, I want to pay myself, but I want to help others also. I have gifted a couple of Dustvote accounts for people, I like supporting with a small donation to FTG SOG and FOG accounts, I try to help with some contest rewards, and now I am getting into steemmonsters game, and there seems to always be someone or some organization that needs a little bit of help. So it is hard, I worked very hard getting to that 500SP level, so that the delegated SP to me could be redistributed to help someone else, and now that I am there, I am able to help in other manners, even though I know I need to pay myself, sometimes it is just a hard thing to do.

Damn, that ended up being longer than I thought it would - - Sorry - -

Congratulations, you're in. Watch @m-sargon for details as I get this started.

@tcpolymath, my small voice may not mean much but @bashadow is also a staunch supporter of @newbieresteemday. He has been with our community from the beginning and spreads his upvotes to newbies unselfishly. He also donates what SBDs he earns to the contests and community events. Very giving individual and I highly recommend both @bashadow and @davemccoy from our #newbieresteemday community.

Thank you @beeyou, it would be so great to up my two cents to a nickle, (if I did that then Dave would need to go to a dime), then it would be dime time for dave, that would be so great for him, I hope he gets a delegation also. I can see it now dave announcing, I think it's time for a dime, on comments.

Lol, I can see Dave doing just that when he gets big enough.

Hear ye Hear ye, Newbies & Minnows. Come share why we should come back to Steemit day after day and you will be rewarded Dave’s Dime! The double D’s 😁

DD2
Dave's Delightful Doable Dime
used to be a nickel one time.
He did not know of this chance
we all took up our Dave dance.
Make it happen make it so
Dave will make that nickel grow.

sorry for the distractor TC, just a little fun at Dave.

Love the poem @bashadow and congratulation on being accepted!! You and Dave both deserve this opportunity to grow.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that, thanks. yeah so maybe soon I will be like dave at nickel stage.

@bashadow is one of genuine caring souls I know on steemit. I find him in the places were newbies need help the most. He used to come a lot on my post that I thought he was a bot until we chatted one midnight on discord. His heart is in the right place.

Thank you for your vote of confidence @warpedpoetic, we do what we can with what we have. I hope to get back to reading on a more steady basis, but I do still try to get over and read at least once a week. So much going on at times.

I completely recommend @bashadown @tcpolymath! If you only have limited slots, you can take me out and put him in... He is terrific and I even delegate to him because he is always helping the newbies/minnows with his power! :)

Thank you dave, I'm in your in we are all in, well as many as tc could afford to let in. Thank you again for your vote of confidence, not sure what I signed up for, but will do my best to continue helping, maybe my 2 cents will be back at the 20% level soon instead of 30%+ at current steem price.

@bashadow I know whatever we need to do that you will be the best at it... You are very good in every group you participate in and I have no doubt you will be an asset in this too :)

Thanks, It looks like we pretty much keep doing what we have been for now. So it's back to work and no worries.

That's what I think too... If you hear of anything I should be doing, please let me know! And yes, back to work and of course never any worries!

My intention was to support you in what you're already doing, rather than asking very much new of you. Your group has kind of startled me with your interest in working together on things, and I'm not at all sure how to handle that or what my role should be.

That was from TC, on a comment I made to jan23com, about the Buddy up word of the week challenge, I declined the challenge, because I dd not want to be overcommitted again. I Still have a little bit of a full plate.

Thank you for the application. Long comments are great. I'll be reviewing all of these at once in a few days.

Well, this really is an amazing initiative. Talk about growing the community...
So, let's see -
I stand at 515 SP of my own, with an 100 SP delegation from @tarazkp.
First, I see myself as a content creator. I am a writer and over 90% of my stories are on this platform (and only here). Now, I strive to offer the community quality content.
I also love discovering talented writers, whom I support. My upvotes are largely based on talent and quality content, as opposed to upvote-for-upvote. I try to help good writers, many with a lower rep than myself, whom I feel don't get the rewards they deserve.
As for number 3, I am trying to grow my account. Some of the SBD in my wallet I intend on converting into STEEM once I get a good price. And some, I admit, is for my personal use, in case the SBD price goes up suddenly (like it did last winter), but hey, Steemit is my only income.
I plan on being here for a long time, since Steemit has provided me with rewards for my content and has helped me find other quality content creators. So naturally, my goal is to grow my account as much as I can.

Thank you for the application. I'll be reviewing these in a few days.

I'd like to put in a word for @honeydue: she is an amazing and prolific writer who is also genuinely and tirelessly devoted to reading and supporting other writers in the community, an integral part of the community here on Steemit.

@honeydue also has my support for this opportunity! She is very active in the freewrite community and is helping newbies along. She is one of the freewrite encouragers who are making such a big difference for the new writers coming to the project.

I'm sorry, you ended up not being selected. I wish you luck with your projects.

Wow, what a fantastic initiative! I'm running short on time this evening, so I'll try to keep this brief:

  1. I'm currently at 524.997 SP, with an additional 29.267 SP delegated by my mentor, @carrieallen.

  2. As a singer/songwriter, poet, fiction writer, and visual artist, I tend to be primarily a content creator, but I feel passionately about supporting other creatives, and the community of creatives on Steemit as a whole. My upvotes and comments go to creatives whose work I respect, and I'd love to be able to offer them more in the way of upvote strength. Via Steem Auto, I contribute votes to the curation trails for @curie, @openmic, @helpie, and @musicvoter, as well as upvoting all posts from @curie, @openmic, @helpie, @musicvoter, @ftlob, @poetsunited, @mariannewest, @atomcollector, @musicoin, and others. I have been, at various times, an active participant at the isleofwrite, and in the freewrite and open mic communities. I have a great idea for a contest that would involve artists working in pretty much any medium, from writing to visual arts to performance, but it has been on hold since I've been working on starting up a new business IRL for the past several months, so haven't had as much time to devote to Steemit. However, my schedule will be lightening up in the near future. In addition to the contest, and to spending more time commenting on and upvoting the amazing work I come across on Steemit, I would like to find ways of being active in curation, and particularly of supporting the writing community. There is so much fantastic work being posted in the daily freewrites, poetry, and fiction.

  3. I'm definitely focused on growing my account. I've never taken anything out, in fact at one point I was able to invest a small amount of cash to grow my SP. I've been curied a number of times, as well as winning various contests and several large upvotes from dtube, and I've put all of that back into the platform. My plan is to keep going until I have enough accumulated SP to do some real good here.

Thank you for the application. I'll be looking at them in more detail in a few days.

Thank you very much for the mention!

Of course! Thank you for everything you do for the music community <3

I truly hope that you will be one of the recipients!! You do such great work! And I very much appreciate your support/vote!

Thank you Marianne! I appreciate everything you do for the writing community <3

I'm sorry, you ended up not being selected. I wish you luck with your projects.

I'm following you and I particularly look forward to seeing your multimedia project when you get it going.

No worries @tcpolymath, thanks for the consideration! This is a fantastic initiative. Following you as well :)

Nice initiative @tcpolymath, and thanks for supporting my team’s initiative, @archisteem.

I would like to nominate my partner @cklai to be under your minnow support. Hopefully he could make it :)

@cklai accepted.

Thanks for the acceptance @tcpolymath!

Thanks for the nomination, I'll look at these a little later but he seems like a good candidate.

No problem :) resteem on my page too, see if there’s any minnows out there wanna nominate themselves. Makes your job easier.

I'm loving the idea mate, it's a great initiative! And to me specifically, as a user with only 430 SP, this offer looks like a fantastic opportunity.

I'm an active member of the #comedyopenmic community, having been a judge on several occasions, one of my entries was the receiver of a @curie mini vote and another entry was the winner of the first place prize (~45SBD at the time). I now donate to the prize pool on occasion and curate entries.

Another community I'm involved in is the #utopian-io community, I often submit code which 90% of the time is approved and upvoted between $50-$160.

I power up almost all my SBD earnings and have never powered down before, I don't use bid bots or vote selling services either. I also plan to invest more outside money into steem (once I'm out of debt of course!)

Thank you for the application. I'll be reviewing them all at once in a few days.

I'm sorry, you ended up not being selected. I wish you luck with your projects.

Thanks man, maybe when your apprentices' have graduated, there'll be space for me :p

I'm actually a bit too high for your criteria, but curious as to whether I would meet the community criteria. When you say must be a community oriented poster, is there a particular sort of posting category that you're looking for?

Anyway, this is something I'd like to support. Is it the @doctorworm account that I should look at supporting?

Congratulations, you're in. Watch @m-sargon for details as I get this started.

Basically, helpful to others.

I like your account, I'm going to consider this an application anyway. You seem like the sort of person who will not be upset if you level up before I have the resources to launch Level Three.

I haven't started the accounts for higher levels yet, but if you want to support the minnowmakers that's @doctorworm and soon to be @particleman.

Thank you. Life's too short to get upset about things. I'll keep plodding along whatever.

I notice you've not been on here that long. You must have really put the hours in and reached out to the community. Not something I have the time for so much myself, but if I can help you to help others then I will.

I've put a follow on those two accounts.

Love it!!

I am active every day helping to bring and support independent musicians on Steemit through this account and the @MusicVoter account that I set up too.

However I have managed to grow this account to nearly 2000 SP so firstly is @MusicVoter eligible? It upvotes 100's of musicians through the curation trail. Secondly am I able to complete the aforementioned "quest" for this account?

Great initiative!

Thank you.

@musicvoter should be over 400 SP counting pending payouts, so I'm happy to consider it.

There will probably be further open applications as I get higher levels built. Barring Steem going way down so I can buy a big chunk it will be a while for you, though, since you'd already be in Level 4 and I'm just working on Level 2 now.

I'm sorry, @musicvoter ended up not being selected. I wish you luck with your projects.

For what it's worth, it's pretty hard to understand what you're actually doing from the outside. Your posts have a lot about how to support the project but don't really report what it's doing very well. You might consider making your curation activities a little more front-facing on your account somehow.

Thank you for the feedback. I will have a look at writing a new post that explains everything as we have added a lot of new features to our website and the @MusicVoter system. Sometimes one is so wrapped up in daily activities that one forgets to take a step back and see how everything looks from the outside.

Thanks again for your time.

Hello , Not sure if I qualify for this or not really, I am a musician / singer/songwriter
I have 757 sp of which I am delegating out 705
and keeping 50 sp for my own votes , I am doing this to support @musicvoter and @dsound to help them to continue the great work that they are doing for musicians and to support musicians in general here on steemit, I am voting and resteeming and commenting daily on posts that I want to support and I am here for the long haul. It would be nice to get my sp high enough so I could make my vote mean more but this seems to be my own doing for now as I delegate all my spare sp out to help a wider range of people

You do qualify. I'll be reviewing all of the applications in a few days.

ok , great, thanks

I'm sorry, you ended up not being selected. I wish you luck with your projects.

no worries mate , thanks :)

this is very generous of you.
i don't even have up to 15 sp,
it has not been easy trying to make things work here having a very low SP, lost motivation at first for steemit, but i just concluded in my mind that i'm here on a journey to get better. steemit has contributed positively to my personal develoment i should say and i have come across a lot of great contents that i wish i had a tangible upvote to give them, it would definitely be nice to have a tangible SP.
i hope you still have a category that i'm eligible for?

This is a lovely attitude and you can have an upvote here. I'm afraid there are just a ton of small users right now and I have a long waiting list for that level.

okay. thank you very much.

Great initiative!! I think I might be a match regarding the SP levels. I do try to add to the community, even though after all these months on Steemit there's still a lot of questions I'm having on how I can contribute best, or even just more. Gaining SP and making my vote more valuable to others is definitely one thing I'm sure that can help. I love this platform because it's an amazing place to grow my communication and people skills. And I'm very certain about the potential of Steem. I'm here for the long run, for sure!

Congratulations, you're in. Watch @m-sargon for details as I get this started.

That's awesome, I'm super excited! Yes, definitely keeping a close eye on the @m-sargon account!!

Thank you for applying. I'll be looking at the applications and deciding which users to include later in the week.

That's great. Staying tuned!

Thanks so much for alerting me about this, bro. That gave me warm feelings inside. So I’ve been active on several levels:
Firstly, with my prevent suicide initiative and the other just to make the world a better place by putting positive, heartfelt, thoughtful music and other content to lift people within the platform and beyond. As well as interacting as much as I can.
And if I’m honest, I also have personal goals to support my family by doing good things in the world via Steemit.
Hopefully, in the not too distant future I will be in a position to help others in the same way you are.
Huge blessings mate

This is your official acceptance message. Watch @m-sargon for details as I get this started.

Yeah, you were the one person I definitely had on my list before posting this, I just made you apply cause I'm a jerk.

Ha ha ha. That was actually quite clever. You gave yourself a backhander whilst giving me a compliment in the same sentence. Ha ha ha.
Well, I’m flattered mate, and you’re one of the last people I’d call a jerk. The closest that you would come to being a jerk is singing a tearjerker song.

First, a big thanks to @tcpolymath for taking this initiative! Props to you!

Second, I just wanted to take introduce @sweetasianpussy as a legit content creator and community builder in the adult #NSFW tag on Steemit.com.

Without going into much detail here is a link to the verification video we just published that explains our vision for the future here on Steemit.com.

Contains adult content:
https://steemit.com/nsfw/@sweetasianpussy/uo7c15ww

Beware the content is of adult nature, but the community and account message is there, along with my current voting record on engagement with commenters.

Our SP is at 377, but as I state on the verification video post is our goal of 1000 SP, and we have an immediate target of +500 by next Friday already in place. I can speed that process up if needed.

Also, we have zero delegations. Not sure if that's good or bad, but it's the current state.

After reading your requirements, it became obvious that we almost meet everything you need without even having know the requirements ahead of time. Kinda like we're on the same page a little bit here. So we figured we'd give it a shot. Thanks for the opportunity!

Let us know what else you need for consideration of your support! We're hard workers, dedicated to the platform and focused on building community. We also enjoy what we do very much! :-)

Thanks again!
@sweetasianpussy

I'm not really seeing the community benefit there. I could imagine supporting a strong NSFW community account but it would have to be one that was actively operating initiatives to support other posters and quality work, rather than just posting their own content. You seem to be pretty new here and with time to grow into that if you want to, and I wish you luck.

Thanks for the response! We understand more clearly what you're looking for now. We will be working on initiatives soon. Thanks for the feedback and for spearheading a great initiative!

I am happy to see you doing this for folks! I started back in November and have been in the crypto scene since 2013. Ever since I found out about Steemit it's just like a dream come true to be able to give people money without it affecting my pockets. The whole process of manual curation and the thought of "a penny for your thoughts" really blows me away.

I'm just a little over 400 SP with some delegation so I can have a slider but I am powering up all my earnings and haven't cashed out to this day (and don't really plan on it). Since I've gotten in the crypto scene I've never cashed out any of my cryptocurrency. Im also the first (and only) company to accept bitcoin / crypto in my city (The Twin Ports, Duluth, MN / Superior, WI) and while I've not had any bitcoin transactions it feels good to be the first.

When it comes to community participation, I've come to find a place I'd like to call home over at @comedyopenmic / #comedyopenmic and #comedyopenmicespanol as a delegater, contest judge and curator.

As a long time internet junkie, I can see the value and potential of a steemit community for comedians because the internet is the birthplace of many jokes and more specifically, reddit. That means that Steemit (with the rewards alone) has the potential to bring all the funny folks over and be the new birthplace of jokes, comedy and the number 1 hub for laughter.

I've judged both the English and Spanish sides of the contest and have enjoyed curating and upvoting others.

What really makes me feel good is being able to toss a few pennies to the Spanish community and the Venezuelans. Being a Venezuelan myself, I have always followed the economic crisis going on down there and I truly feel privileged to be in the USA and not have to deal with that crisis. Even though I have family down there, I've never been able to contribute to those who are struggling financially because of my own financial struggles. I remember just a little over a year ago I mentioned on facebook that I wished I could send bitcoins to my Venezuelan brothers and sisters. With steemit, I can do this just by simply upvoting them, and I look forward to the day I can call myself a Steemit whale and be able to reward folks with upvotes.

I'm also trying to populate / create a #rockhound community on steemit. (you know, folks that take a particular liking to rocks, gemstones and different minerals such as Agates.)

Recently I've neglected some of my posts to focus more on my fitness and encourage steemians (we sit around blogging a lot) to start exercising more.

As I started to understand voting power quickly I realized that it's better to power up and keep powering up as it will only benefit me (and others) in the long run so I decided to always power up my earnings and it feels good to watch my account grow. I absolutely have a desire to be a steemit whale and focus on the manual curation and proof-of-brain that sold me to the platform in the first place. It's definitely time consuming though! My friend compares it to being a teacher and "grading papers".

EDIT
I also wanted to add that I do some behind the scenes work as I also prepare and ensure the posts for the spanish side are pushed out (start of round post and winners post) and upvote the spanish entries with the community account! Some of these tasks don't allow me to have time to make a regular post but the community building that I help with is worth it.

Congratulations, you're in. Watch @m-sargon for details as I get this started.

Wow that is amazing! Thank you so much! You've made my day!

Lol, did you see my header photo and edit in the Duluth part? Writing about Lake Superior will definitely get you extra points here.

HAHA OMG! I did not even look at your main page so I definitely did not notice your amazing header photo :P You're in the twin cities eh? Glad to meet someone so close! I am yet to meet another Duluthian that is on steemit yet!

Thanks for the application and the extensive comment. I'll be making determinations in a few days.

Too bad i have only 18 SP, I can't participate. Is the first level closed or is there a chance to apply for it soon?

I doubt there will ever be open applications for the first level. There are just way too many people in that group, and I'm noticing people I want to add faster than I can add them.

Sorry.

That's ok man. Keep doing the best you can to help others, I'm glad there are people like you here.

Hello
I have 629 sp now 600 of it was delegated to me by @dimimp for curating. I am proudly a member of @steemjet community which our primary function is curating. I wan to develop my account as much as possible by curating the more have learnt a great deal about curating since i join the community. I will be very grateful if more sp is being delegated to me. Thanks

I'm sorry but delegation SP does not count for making an account eligible. You can have a couple of votes and a follow, though. I really like your cocoa/cashew posts.

Thank you very much

Please sir which category i'm i eligible for because i really need the support sir

Hi, this looks like a fantastic idea!

I currently have approx 742SP. I have never taken anything out of the community. I have been lucky to have curied a few times (5 or 6?), and have invested it all in trying to grow my SP, so I can help others.

Recently I have been also buying SBI shares for people too. I run two contests both at a 'loss' (unless curied my posts never seem to get much above 50cents) giving away SBI and SBD to people (particularly newbie writers enjoy my #Zapfic contest - 1st, 2nd and 3rd all get 1 sbi each plus a share of 1.5SBD). The other give away I use to encourage people to comment on one of my regular freewrite posts (approx 2 SBI a week in this giveaway). Neither of these contest oblige people to upvote or resteem in return. I don't upvote myself (haven't done so in a couple of months now). I try to reward everyone who comments on my posts with an upvote. I am a dedicated freewriter (over 200 days now, without missing one). One of my posts I give away 50% of my SBD payout to the freewritehouse to help them grow so they can help others.

My aim is to continue to help people gain confidence in their writing and to use steem to help them develop their skills further.

Thank you for the application. I will be reviewing them in a few days.

Thank you! :)

I'm sorry, you ended up not being selected. I wish you luck with your projects.

Thanks anyway! You are doing a fabulous thing! :)

Hi i am fairly new and this is intriguing! I have gotten a bit frustrated trying to find good bait for these whales lol i would love some help! I am an artist i make everything! i love to write and make music. I have been dealing with finding a new living arrangement and haven't been posting as much as i want. My pennies are collecting like molasses and this is also a little detrimental to motivation. I know i dont have as much sp as youve requested but hopefully you can help this minnow becaome big and bad :P thanks!

Hi Puggle -

While I don't have any spots for smaller users right now I looked at your account and you entertain me, so I followed you and you might get the occasional vote from this account which I use to vote on a per-post basis. (More likely if you start using paragraphs, though.)

Lol okay I can definitely start using paragraphs :P thank you !!

You always seem to have the cool ideas. I dont fulfill the requirements yet but good luck to anyone participating.
go Helpies! :D

Thanks. And yes, go Helpies. I'd like to see some more here.

Great initiative! I think I fit the criteria, if you'd like to check out my account. I am involved in @freewritehouse as a post curator and I do their graphic design as well.

I am also part of steemitbloggers & the Isle of Write, but my involvement there is more of a general, commenting, upvoting and supporting the other community members. Same with The Alliance, which I just recently joined.

I'm not sure if that's what you mean by 'community oriented' or not, but that's what I have to offer.

I am committed to building my steemit blog, writing and posting daily as I have been for the last six months. This is my kind of place, my kind of people and just something I am passionate about.

Thank you for your consideration!

Although I thought about waiting until I was a little less scattered to comment, I realized that I would be waiting for a very long time, since this seems to be my normal state of being anymore.

You do meet the criteria, thank you for the application. I'll be reviewing them in a few days.

I'm sorry, you ended up not being selected. I wish you luck with your projects.

What a great initiative @tcpolymath! It warms my heart seeing posts like this :) I wish I had the SP to join in, although thankfully with delegations, I have surpassed 500 ;) Thank you for doing this.

I read through the comments and I just wanted to plug davemccoy who is totally deserving of this, bashadow is that guy who upvotes and comments all over the place, and also thedarkhorse. I've been a judge in his curation contest for 10 weeks now and we upvote and comment on the entry and also the 3 steemians that the entrant features. Anything "curation" is great in my books, but obviously, your hand in asapers tells me you're in agreement. Being able to curate for asapers has been such a pleasure for me as well; finding those quality unnoticed posts and shining a bit of light on them is such a worthwhile task.

Cheers!

Jumping in here to echo this, since I was about to second the recommendations for @davemccoy, @bashadow, and @thedarkhorse. All three are tirelessly dedicated to helping new users and your support @tcpolymath would certainly be used to pass around to new users struggling to get started.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, I'd also like to nominate @davemccoy. I've told him this directly, but if we didn't somehow find him in the beginning (or maybe he found us?) both me and my wife @suitcasemama would have bailed on Steemit long ago. I've also bumped into @thedarkhorse more recently through the Pay It Forward posts. They're both undeniably community focused - I'd love to see them more supported!

A nice idea.

Are you planning on spot-checking the accounts you pick to ensure they haven't resorted to shit-posting?

So far I'm watching everybody closely, and my plan is to continue. Maybe that won't be practical once the whole system is running and I'll have to spot-check but next week's upgrade is only going to bring it to a total of 20-odd accounts. And they're selected for people whose posts I want to read.

Maybe more importantly I don't quite have a well-developed policy for what qualifies as a shitpost yet. SteemHunt for instance annoys me and I'd probably let someone go for posting mostly there, but one or two I don't mind at this point. One of the DW users is reposting a bunch but they're good posts, so eh.

Part of the idea of the level-up challenges is that users should get better as they get higher as well, so I'm probably more forgiving of the redfish.

Yeah, well it's your stake so what classifies as a shit-post is up to you, I just wanted to hear that you'd be keeping a lookout before I upped and resteemed :)

Hi Asher. I am nominating Dave for all he does in our community. I hope he gets a chance!

An excellent nomination 😁

That is definitely a great initiative! I am your new follower from Singapore. Thank you for all your support for minnows!

  1. You must have between 400 and 800 native SP. (Before calculating any delegation.)

Oh, sad! I missed the opportunity. :( My SP including delegation is 240. Yes I am a community person. I am a #steemSTEM fan who writes STEM articles. I got 100 SP delegation from @kryzsec and delegated my 50 SP to @steemstem.

Really great initiative, steemit needs more guys like you who support real accounts that actually aim to grow properly and reach new milestones !

I wish I had 400SP, but a great initiative nonetheless. I hope many will reach to 1100SP before this update of HF20 is released.

Your posting frequency is pretty low and I'm a fan, especially re:Noble Bot, so I'm going to put you into the lower group when I rebalance it this week.

Yes, do not post often. Most of time I am learning ins and outs of STEEM or developing some projects. I implemented your private memo key related suggestion on the announcement post of Noble Bot. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you for considering me. :)

That is not the same curation weirdness that increases the value of minute-zero votes, by the way. I haven't heard any talk of changing that one, except indirectly through attempts to re-peg SBD.

In any case it just makes the outgoing votes more effective, it isn't necessary. When things change I will adapt.

First time I’m hearing about this, goes to show I’m so behind life 😅.

I don’t fit in the requirements so it’s a no go for me, but Your an amazing person to be able to do this for encouraging talents to rise on this platform, when it’s quite difficult to survive in the ocean of memes and photographs.

I hope your initiative goes well.

I absolutely enjoyed your piece on Jerry Banfield, it was an eye opener.

It's been a pretty quiet project up until this post. I'm glad a bunch of people seem to like it.

I just wanted to say as a new user myself with relatively zero SP I appreciate what you are doing. It is community engagement like this that will have a positive lasting impact on the platform.

When I first started reading articles here on steemit I felt a bit discouraged as I wasn't sensing much of a "community", but now that I am following some users like yourself on here I see that there is a supportive community out there.

If you have any advice for a new user like myself I'm all ears! Cheers!

My main advice is to join Discord if you haven't yet. Most of the community here happens off of Steemit.

Also, following the people who have left good comments here will probably help you a lot.

I'll definitely join Discord. I gave steemit chat a look a few days ago, but there wasn't much activity. Thanks for the recommendations!

Hey my name is Amir and I’m an Iraqi comedian, currently living in Iraq. Comedy as a whole is a dead scene in Iraq so I decided to take my comedy to steemit.

I’m a judge and I write posts for a comedy contest called #comedyopenmic (the official hashtag we use) and this is their account on steemit @comedyopenmic as well their discord server

I also write posts aimed at helping aspiring comedians improve their craft using the tag line #comedyschool where I post about basics, in comedy along with the writing process and [tricks to help people improve their comedy]

I also write poetry and stories but haven’t posted many here considering the effort compared to the payout.

I’m also a mod at @c-squared which is a community account aimed at rewarding quality posts.

My number one goals IS to grow my account, I was even phished out twice and lost all my earnings but I love this site and the community I’m a part and looking to grow my account along with my communities.

This is a model application comment and it's really too bad you didn't read the SP requirements.

I think I slightly misunderstood it. Sometimes I don't English well. Either well, good luck with your mission and I wish you success.

@tcpolymath
Great thing to do!
I did just write my goals in steemit. I do have 300own SP and do want to grow towards 500, but hey 1100 is also oke.
You can find the post on my blog.
I am involved in the steemitbloggers and sbc community. From the last one I am one of the founders!
Also very interest in making the steembasicincome community great.
I do write on average 250 commens per week. And my votes are spread out over a very broad spectrum of topics.
I do believe that interaction and engagement is utmost important here!
While being only a small red fish, I am sponsoring the engagement league of @abh12345. I do sponsor the lucky number 25 with ans SBI share.

I have never powered down and power up everything I earn here. Small exemptions are sbd donations to the sbc community!

From yesterday on, I am supporting a newcomer trying to lift his account to 50.

Feel free to take a look at my goal post and let me know what you think!
If I am not selected no problem but really appreciate some advice about how to grow here!

Cheers,
Peter

I appreciate everything you're doing for other users but 300 is just too small for this particular moment. I already lowered it quite a bit - when the system is in full operation it's going to be 500 minimum.

You're on my radar, though.

Thanks! I will have 400 SP after the world cup, at least that is what I do hope!

This is an Amazing concept you want to go... Love it but im a bit too small to get into it :( But my finger are crossed you will catch the perfect dude/dudette for this plans ;)

Hi @tcpolymath. I just came across this post a few minutes ago. If applications are still open, I'd like to apply.

I meet your three requirements.

  1. I am between 400 and 800 SP. I am at almost 560 SP, with 60 of that being delegated to the alliance, leaving me with just under 500—so no slider yet (woe is me).

  2. I am a community-oriented poster. On Discord I am a member of the Writers Block and their offshoot, the Isle of Write. I am a poetry editor on the first and help with poetry on both servers. I ran a haiku contest for a number of weeks and also was a judge on a poetry contest the writers block help weekly. Both of these things have passed on, but I do have plans to restart my haiku contest again in the coming weeks. (I love haiku and also do many translations of my own—I have 100 translation posts on my blog if you scroll back a ways)

I also try to support the Japan community, with a focus on expats in Japan, as much as I can, retweeting them, filling my posts with links towards them, etc. I recently started a new initiative, called "Random Japan" where I post more random photos of the country and less "typical" ones such as torii gates and other stereotypical views of the country. I have been trying to gather other Japan expats to participate in this idea under the "randomjapan" and "randomasia" tags. I recently expanded the idea to include other countries, and I now have someone from china doing a "randomchina" post and there are a few from korea also joining in.

I have several other ideas as well that I want to get to. One of which is a "creativeselfie" contest to engage the more artistic community. I have several posts I do where I post a selfie and run in thru multiple filters and edits until it is more abstract and less selfie, and I want to get others to join this idea.

Anyway, that is just a few of the things I am doing to be community-oriented.

  3. Yes, absolutely, my long-term plan is to be a whale. I have been working tirelessly since I joined Steemit in Sept to get up to the SP level I have now and I intend to keep going.

It is a bit too late, unfortunately, but I'll keep you in mind if I need to add to the group to keep voting power down. I really like the Random Japan posts.

I figured it was too late but thought I'd give it a shot. Oh well. Thank you for considering me in the future and thank you for saying you like the Random Japan posts. It was originally a filler idea, as I had at the time become too busy to continue with my haiku translation posts, but I have really been enjoying doing them and drafting others to join in on the idea.

By the way, I started following you and have been reading some of your past posts. Good stuff, esp the posts delving into the finer workings of Steem. Keep them up, please.

hey @tcpolymath, I am Mohammed Abdul Aziz from Bangladesh. You can check my first post on steemit for my background. My steemit journey started around 2 years ago but was not active in the beginning as I didn't know what crypto is and how steemit works. I know I am not eligible for the opportunity as I powered up most of my earnings here, But I want to tell my story so I can forward the opportunity to my another community project if you consider.

I am running 2 charity projects on steemit. @SchoolForSDG4 is fully funded by steemit community for last 10 months and the school provides free education to around 60 underprivileged kids. I am running the project since 20 April 2016. and the school only depends on steemit donors support.

I am running another social project @WomenEmpowerment which is also successful on seemit according to me. I am selling products to steemians and recently I received few orders from USA and Canadian supporters on steemit. The project support slum women to get free skill based training and the donation and earning help the project to expand the social venture. I founded the project in 7 January 2017.

I am unconditionally supported by my followers who not only appreciate but give generous upvote often.

But still I have many things to do for my country people. Last year in July, 2017 I created a community account @SteemitBD. The account represents steemit Bangladesh community. I created the account to support youths from Bangladesh who work on steemit and promote steemit to my country. You may know a lot of south Asian people misunderstand steemit and which lead them to do many things and these mostly considered as abuse or spam or many other things. So I found the lack of education about steemit is one of the big reasons. So I took step to support my country youths who are mostly from middle and lower income family and trying to empower themselves via online earning or outsoursing.I am here to help them through the @SteemitBD. As a community, I am providing them training, upvoting them around $0.11 cents for good article through curation trail and so on. You can read more details from my recent blog post.

Steemit Bangladesh now has more than 250 Bangladeshi members and none of them earn $1 from their followers. Some feel demotivated to write quality articles, but I feel unhappy to see they are getting blacklisted sometime. So here is my action to empower them through the only and first Bangladeshi Community.

We are upvoting few posts from Bangladeshi users every day as good selected contents, we are arranging good article competition where author will present article to us and @steemitbd will request sponsor to give $1- $2 upvote for the winning post.

@SteemitBD has facebook, twitter and youtube to promote and educate the youths about steemit from Bangladesh. They are learning About SMT, how to write contents and so on from mentors. I am playing role as onwer and helping them to utilize the platform to empower themseves.

The community organisation account has around 50 SP which I think needs more support. Though I am owner of the account but my plan is to support the community for long time. Recently I am powering down on request, as I need to buy upvote to give incentive for writers. and so the Steem will be converted to SBD for buying upvote. I am also inveting some of my liqued money there but these are not enough to help more members of the community. You can refer any member from Bangladesh http://www.discord.me/steemitbd . if you think he needs help.

I introduced myself as I am the owner of the community and I have long term vision with this platform. So any support to @steemitbd will make a big change to This Bangladeshi community members.

Regards,
@Azizbd

Thank you for everything you're doing for the community. I wish you good luck with your projects, but I'm going to continue focusing on mine.

For some reason a weight-lifting parrot seems appropriate for this. My photo.

Hey! @tcpolymath

¿How about the steemian Nº 51,069 who after almost two years of being a community-oriented poster haven't reached 350SP yet?

¿Could he have @doctorworm and your support also?

As for your Weight-lifting Parrot.. Yeah! click on this 'techy' one below to know a little bit more. }:)

Consciousness

My question would be, What are you doing Wrong? Powering Down???
Spending your SBD's? I wish I had joined when You Did! :D

Hi @underground!!

Well, first of all I've never powered down. I guess because basically I never had anything worth to power down so far Haha. ;)

Spending my SBDs is actually the only way of survival standing over here in my country.

¿What am I doing Wrong? Uhm, it looks like writing on subjects with a shaved tongue about Consciousness & Truths and stuff like that in a humorous tone, doesn't make me a popular author to follow, support and attract upvotes. ¡Not even worthy and able to attract mere comments! LoL }:)

wow so looking.....thanks for post

I believe he's still much below the threshold, but I immediately thought of @rentmoney. Not sure his long term plans, but nearly 100% of his posts are creative ways of giving back to the community in the form of free promotions, games, or contests.

Looks like a great iniative. Only issue is that I first need to find 360 Steem somewhere 😩🤔

Alright now I check the red-fish iniative. Perhaps that can prevent me from becoming a dead-fish 😋

Thanks for this initiative.

😔 sad, poor me can't enter here, I have less than 30SP but I've done a lot to my fellow minnows, whenever I see a post that is earning very low I tell my other minnows to join hands together and Upvote such a person, it works.we also have some minnows among us too who helps to Put a smile on minnows face.
@druids, am sure if this steem power is delegated to him be will do us good in many ways.
Thanks.

Awesome I hope more eyeballs find this post and want build something together. I am already a little more spread out then I’d like to be and nearing the top in what you are looking for in terms of account size anyways. I wish you great success!

I hope you find some strong team builders and long term holders to build something here. Far too many seem to want put a price on things for maximize personal financial profits. They seem to overlook the most valuable asset on steemit –the people.

Hi @tcpolymath!

I'm not really sure as to how strict you are with the criteria you have set, but I'm still gonna give it a try :)

First off, I'm @jlordc. I have been on this platform for over 5 months now and I have a natural SP of only 311 (+1250 delegation I got a month ago).

I haven't invested anything yet on this platform except my time and passion. I mostly write about underrated steem tools, some info on how some platforms work(i.e. how the busy bots work), steem tools that are helpful for newbies and my occasional reviews on anime, tv series and games.

For over five months I have been here, I only did two withdrawals. First was to try if steem was legit(I was skeptical about it at first) and the second one was to pay for my internet bills. All of the payouts I received after, I used them to promote my next blog post through upvote bots with a limit of 15SBD each. (I believe minnows need to compete for visibility if they want to succeed in here and it's a great way of converting some hard-earned SBD to SP in the process).

I really do believe in the potential of what this platform can do in the future, that is why I am trying my very best to grow my account. Most of my natural SP are delegated to community projects like qurator and make-a-whale, which supports quality content and have been proven to have help small accounts grow, me included.

But it's not enough, my goal is to reach 1k natural SP before the year ends which is also the reason why I decided to at least try despite the 400 natural SP criteria. I would appreciate it if you could have a look at my blog first before excluding me from this project :)

Cheers!

You seem to be doing really well without me. You got into make-a-whale somehow, you've got support from Neoxian, I think you're going to be fine.

I love the project, but I'm only at 158 SP with a bit more coming shortly. I'll try to get my SP up ASAP and hopefully be able to qualify in time.

This is so great!!! I'm not quite there yet!! :). I'm at 320, but, good to know I'm close. I didn't know what qualified me to get out of the minnow phase!! But, thanks so much for supporting the community in such a positive way!!!

Hello there, a couple of questions. Since a dolphin is at 5000k, how will this work from those that are between 500-1100 SP?
I'm currently at about 1100, and of course would love help in reaching 5k (dolphin status). I'm a very active engager, and this is proven by Asher's weekly list: last week I hit number #1, and this week #2 in League 2.

Here is proof of last week's numbers for top engagement on Steemit.

There are future levels envisioned in the program - 500, 1100, 1800, 2700, 3800, 5000. Right now only 0-500 is running, and these are applications for when I spin up the 500-1100 next week. The goal is to get the higher levels on line at least as fast as the users already in the system are getting to them, and there will probably be further application posts when that happens.

The whole thing takes about 18000 SP to start, which is a lot more than I have right now; I'm doing some with leasing delegation but I can't just launch the whole thing at once that way. That might change if Steem keeps going down, as I have some USD I could add.

gotcha! :)
when you are ready for higher ups, I hope I see your initiative take off and allow my number to jump on board. thanks for the update.
@underground you might find this interesting.

Yes, this is interesting. I am running something like a 15 to 1000 program right now, and would be just fine with 15 to 500, 1000 or 1100, etc. Maybe a joint effort? I see U have become a Dolphin rather quickly, prolly like I did (Brute Force Method) but quicker :D
I have 2 bots running now for the first 2 levels. We have programs in place for the entry levels and might break some of that off for the 2nd level, there is so much material it really should be made into 2 smaller sections. After Minnow Boot Camp (1000 or 1100 graduation) I have plans for a Dolphin Boot Camp. Basically what you are planning as well. Let's Talk, Tim.

I wish you luck with your program but I don't think a partnership is a good fit. You're running an open mutual support service and I'm running a curated outgoing support initiative. And our styles are wildly different.

You're more than welcome to recruit some of the smaller users who've posted here, though.

My point was it's a WIP and still forming up, so that's fine. In fact I have some other folks seeking other means of progressing too. Client sharing is another thing we do, and I have a few other programs that we do that with. That is what I call a partnership, currently, but it is more like a a loose "confederation" :-D
I will alert my people about your group. This would be a good post to direct them to, would that be OK?
I have yet to find anyone who uses the term "curation" properly, and usually the ones that seem to "curate" the best, I have never seen them actively use the word. How do you mean it? Plus, I am not saying you misuse the word, because I have nothing to go by. Just an honest question.
TIA!
Rob

By all means send people here. Everyone else is.

I mean that the participants are selected by a central authority. (Me.) Basically as we would use the word in a gallery.

OK, lots more to it obviously, but that is basically how I interpret curation. I can tell you now, that the bigger and more complex the program gets, the more help you will need unless you are doing it full time. I have lots of "employees" but really only like 2 that are active. Very good ppl. you met @eaglespirit and my other top contributor is @derangedvisions. They are both also top-notch content producers, but in completely different media and quite different from each other. I am now going to post this link in my post promo and my main gathering areas.
