There are few reasons why I want to have 10k followers by end of this month.

1. Easier to promote Steem DApps
2. I want to impact more Steemians Steemit Journey
3. I want to show other what they can do with steemit
4. I want more reward for my contribution
5. I want DTube, Dlive and Busy and other Steem Dapps to succeed

Also seting deadline put pressure on my and setting quantitative target makes me measure my goals.

Also I might have other reasons as well but these are the reasons come to mind now. Note it’s morning in London and I’m not a morning person. May be I should have response to you in the evening.
