Who Are the Top Onboarders for Hive using the OCD onboarding inititiative?

in #user-onboarding3 months ago (edited)

Prompted by @acidyo, today I would like to provide an update on the statistics for user retention in the OCD onboarding initiative. This is a follow up to the post I wrote in April last year.

Overall Statistics

This table shows some overall statistics, with network averages for comparison. These statistics represent a substantial improvement in long term user retention for OCD compared to what can be seen in the last post. It also is vastly better than the network average.

Referrals Per Month

The first chart shows the number of new accounts created through the initiative per month, starting from December 2021. We can see that while retention is very good compared to the broader network, OCD onboarding is still happening at quite a small scale.

In conclusion, the OCD onboarding initiative is doing really well in terms of user retention rates. It has improved substantially on its past performance, which was already better than the network averages. As before however, the challenge is scaling this kind of initiative up - the scale is not sufficient to drive Hive user growth overall and the rate of referrals has not grown in the last year.

If there's interest, I can also make some charts showing how the population of OCD onboarded users are doing on Hive.

Awesome, thanks, gives a good overview on things.

We'd definitely be interested in more. :D

We are working to increase the percentage of effectiveness, in terms of user retention, this third month as you just showed, we had more than 60% in terms of retention of new users included in Hive.

Thank you very much for your data.

We keep on working.

Hey! Thanks for doing this!

Thanks so much for the mention. It's a pleasure to contribute with the incorporation of new users.

Great content! Shared it on hive to day:

Ocd does a lot and they are very principled!! Good job to all the onboarders as onboarding is no easy feat.

Make Acid CMO of Hive please.

It's just like all these projects and communities, they're very special and the people who build them are working very hard on them and we'll see that in the next little while we'll have all of these. A lot of the user will see on top of things.

I’m actually surprised to see some of my friends here
This is really nice
I hope I get on this list someday

Thank you so much for this giving this overview

Even a lower retention rate is fine if what they are doing can be scaled up. 2023 was the worst year for HIVE in terms of new accounts created. InLeo seems to be doing well with the small funding they are getting from DHF. My personal opinion is that HIVE is not spending enough on infrastructure and marketing. I wonder if it would be possible to fund OCD team to scale their operations. What they are doing benefits everyone on HIVE whether they are users looking for more content or developers looking for more users.
