Value Plan Q4 2023 Remainder Proposal

We are now approaching the end of the year with Value Plan and are looking at a strong finish. We have just completed several large conferences, including our internal community party Hive Fest, and are in wrap-up mode with a few more things planned. After that and for most of December we will be working on our reflections and year end.

These past few weeks have been hectic with the final of the trio of North American conferences ending. We are also fresh from the Amsterdam conference which was phenomenal to say the least. Hive representation and promotion is a scaling endeavor as we gain notoriety and are invited to more and more events. Our goal is to always ensure that we are able to maintain the level of quality that shows respects to the Hive stakeholders and community members and promotes our blockchain and ecosystem in a cohesive, positive and inclusive manner.

This is a partial proposal in follow-up to our earlier 'bridge' proposal which can be found here.

We originally aimed to provide a full overview of events in this proposal post but have decided to let them conclude for the year before doing so. That would allow us to do a proper recap without speculation as to the events' results as many earlier ones are still in process in terms of follow-up and consequential opportunities.

Overview [R]

Your Value Plan keyholders as always are @theycallmedan, @smooth, @guiltyparties, @crimsonclad and @blocktrades. Project management is carried out by @crimsonclad and @guiltyparties.

The project scope includes promotional, marketing, impact and task-based activities that support Hive and its ecosystem as a whole. Activities may be major or minor. Project costs such as logistics and merchandise fit within the scope.

We take project management and quality control very seriously. All line items are continuously scrutinized and we employ a cyclical feedback model of communication.

Please note that the Google Sheet published in the Half Year Review post here has an error where longer memos were cut off and not fully presented. Only some of the line items were affected, which is how the error was missed. It is not clear why it didn't copy/paste correctly in but a new sheet has been put together. The new sheet uses fresh transaction data and is not built off the old sheet in any way to be sure that there are no other issues.

The new sheet is available at the same link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dCSlgwo17LYEJFwE1IsGppqv1JOTZXJ0fl-NGJs7MRQ/edit?usp=sharing

Please note that the sheet is a working copy. It has not gone through the same scrutiny as the year end report sheet will.

Also note that the events are shown above in the months they were paid for, not in the months they were carried out.

As planned, the conferences take up a third of the budget. In our data we've divided them into major conferences and minor conferences. This has to do with the conference's reach, not the investment in it -- although often these factors align. Activities labeled as tech events are smaller in nature and can be anything from side-events to conferences to technical presentations.

Business, which currently refers to Hive Sucre project which, despite its name, will soon reach beyond the borders of the Sucre State for which its named, is the business onboarding project. Since Hive provides a social media-based engagement network where people can and do generate income through different types of content, we have the perfect currency for a circular economy. People have already generated their funds and now they have the ability to spend them. Merchants who receive them can spend them at other vendors, invest them, or use them to build a community around their brand. As business adoption of HIVE and HBD spreads, the questions of "what do I do with this?" is answered.

Pro (professional) sport and Am (amateur) sport are our promotional, attention-grabbing initiatives. These include our Hive Rally Car (professional) and the Street Workout Community (amateur). There are other initiatives in both categories on a smaller scale but it is these two that have the greatest spread in terms of being multi-country. We attended WRC races in Croatia, Italy, Greece and now are looking forward to returning to Germany, where our car already visited during the Web3 Berlin conference. The SWC has held events or represented Hive in Venezuela (its home country), Colombia, Mexico and Cuba.

The greatest challenge of initiatives based in a specific country is how to branch out to countries across the globe where despite distance, like-minded people are interested in pursuing the initiative and Hive. Through the innovative dapps built on Hive that allow for a wide range of functionalities, we aim to help our initiatives widen their reach.
