First the obvious, This proposal would have benefitted from being staggered. One or two months of campaigning for votes followed by payments starting from x date 2 months from now.
On to the proposal itself, I would approach this from 3 perspectives.
i) As a wrestling fan: WOOOO!! I would pay 10$ to have my daughter take a picture with Perry Saturn.
ii) As a business owner: There has to be a way to charge people for this in the form of tickets or merchandise. Tickets are the obvious one because people only value what they pay for. That said, I have no idea what the price should be but there should be revenue generation of some sort with some costs being sent back to the DHF (This is just an opinion).
iii) As someone who cares about Hive and is working extensively on retention data:
Users stick around when there is a good business success story. Your business success is extremely important to the hive. To that end, I would love to see this event become a sustainable source for your business. We have plenty of users, 25k in 2025 so far, but most of them don't stick around, so more than users, what we need are businesses that have made an impact on the hive and real-world society.
To that end, I would like to see a plan for generating sales to offset some of the costs.
Concessions will be sold at the event and would be returned to the DHF as stated in the proposal
I can understand how that could cause confusion and needed clarification though. The after party and preshow events with local businesses would also be paid for events that will generate income to send back to the DHF.
There would also be follow up with local users and businesses to keep it fresh in their minds as well as be a point where we can further educate. There are a ton of local businesses in the area that don't have loyalty programs. They could have a HBD loyalty program pretty easily and we can help educate them on how that is possible. The other big thing is working with local businesses that have been on-boarded to hold events for them in the community to foster HBD usage.
Thank you for your consideration and feedback!
