I always have wondered why we glorify mob rule so much. That, by itself, is groupthink. The concept of a republic is hard to understand by humans and hard to maintain, if it exists. Ask Julius Caesar and Augustus, who in 2 generations changed a republic into a monarchy.

Mob rule seemed to work for Mickey, if just for a minute. If the old cartoon corresponds with real life here, I'd say we're at the point in the story where the room is flooded, right before the actual sorcerer upstairs gets up to come down and 'reset' everything.
