I Will Write 500 words, and I will Write 500 More: 5

MonthRoundUp.jpg
And in a blink, April is over and a third of the year has passed. I've written 54,129 words so far this year. In April I penned 16,081 words which is the second month I've achieved the monthly target.
Over the month I wrote on 26 of the thirty days, which included writing every day from the first to the twenty-fifth. Over the month I posted to HIVE 32 times.

my averages for the month are 536wpd for the whole month, with that rising to 618wpd when including only those days I wrote on.
It was a month of consistency with only four days netting over a thousand words, although I also had my single best writing day of the year with an output of 2036 on the second of the month.

I'm very happy with progress through the month, especially as I'm still having issues with my shoulder. It is a lot better, but still painful and the position required for typing is one of the worst.

I feel fully back in a writing groove now and have been thinking hard about what I want to be writing. At this point that is mainly one fiction and one non-fiction project. The non-fiction one is my From This Side of the Pond project. I need to get into the habit of producing two per month at this point. These will not be on HIVE until I've finished creating a space where I can record them and then they will be released as a podcast. Though the occasional one may be posted, as per the one about Paul Harvey

The other thing I'm leaning towards is working on my Noir Thriller, the first chapter of which is available here.

I have chapter outlines for twelve or thirteen chapters, which should see me most of the way through a manuscript - I don't see it being more than 65-80k words in length. The idea as it stands is to produce a chapter a week, which will be posted on HIVE. So, if you read chapter one and would be interested in seeing how things go, and/or being an accountability partner (by which you get to nag me for when the next chapter will be up), and/or a suggestion partner (whereby you get to freely offer suggestions on what you hope to see happen, or point out where I've made errors in continuity etc), then please let me know.

As an average chapter is likely to be 3-5k in length and I'm averaging 500 words-per-day, the chapters are likely to written over most of the week, which will likely limit other output for posting.

I think I'll try and keep to posting the Dreemport challenge (this month's with Silver Bloggers gave me three posts I really enjoyed writing). I'm also considering doing posts about The England's Men's Cricket Team in this Ashes year. A small primer towards the end of the month before the matches start in June would seem sensible.

Beyond that, expect other random posts with some poetry, a Here's The Thing article when something piques my interest, and more of my These United States stories cut into bite sized posts. I also need to do a collection post for these so they are gathered into one place.

I also thought this would be a good post to track my Hive and HBD. As of today I have 508.164 Hive (up 107.106). 25 is received delegation (thankyou @shadowspub) and 424.850 (up 73.85) is delegated out.
I have 112.305 HBD (up 32.72), which is all in savings. At 20% APR why wouldn't I?

How did you do with your plans in April?

Some will know The Proclaimers song I’m Gonna Be (500 miles). Well, it’s still the theme for this writing year: ‘and I will write 500 words, and I will write 500 more’.

That was a great progress last month. I also did well by posting most times twice each week and I did over 31 posts for the month of April and grew my Hive Power which is great for me.
I hope this month favors you 🙏
Sorry about your shoulder too.

I popped in through #dreemport

Good work Princess!

Soon as I saw the title, I was singing the song in my head for the day!

I love the title! Looking forward to all the works in store for May.
April was a good month for me, I managed to post every day of the month.

It looks like it was a good month for you, you made a great effort and I'm glad it worked out for you. April has been a good month for posting because I've had a lot of free time, and I put my creativity to work non-stop. I love taking time off and dedicating myself to Hive. There is still a lot to do, but always focus on your goals.

I'm so happy for all the progress you're making on Hive. That wpd is coming through in leaps and bounds and it's good that you're improving on your consistency. Wish you all the best this new month 🤗

Seems you have a diary of what to achieve in this hive blockchain. Kudos for taking these bold steps to sharpen the game of writing! I envy the consistency though lol! Just keep the fire burning, seems I will have to borrow that energy soonest!

A motivating article.I pray God will grant you success in your goal if this is according his will.. keep writing good articles like this @stuartcturnbull Have a blessed day! I found this article through #dreemport

You are doing great, Stuart! Writing a thriller too? Sounds like a fantastic project. Feel free to tag me in the chapter posts as they are released 🤗Personally, I have had a tough April off-chain with very little writing achieved and hardly touching on my much favoured fiction and poetry. I'm hoping to get back into it this month. I hate being away from my writing. !LUV !ALIVE !hivebits
