I Will Write 500 words, and I will Write 500 More: 7

In June I agreed to do extra work and instead of driving one day a week I was driving four - actually I did five days a couple of times.

That doesn't sound too taxing and, in years gone by I would have eaten it up. Doing it with ME/CFS is a different matter. Between the morning shift and afternoon one I needed to go back to bed. After the afternoon shift it was often the same. And writing became pretty much a non-event, indeed over the course of two months I wrote 9257 words, that's thirty percent to target.

There have been times when such a thing would have knocked me so far off the writing horse that I'd watch it galloping up the field and not worry about getting back on.

Having HIVE to write with has been an incentive to not take that course this time.

That being said, I decided to give myself grace and not try to remount directly work finished. I've taken some recovery time, I've done stuff round the house, I've started listing things on eBay again (and intend to do some posts about a few of the nicer or more interesting pieces which I have, or obtain).

Oddly I decided to start regular writing and posting again just two days before heading north for two weeks. On Thursday I'll be driving us up to Blackpool, from Blackpool to Stow, from Stow to Embo. And that is going to be the focus of posts for a spell. Travelling, and the view from the beach. If we get some clear skies I even hope to do a spot of night sky photography.

With regard to ongoing writing projects, what there? SOme may have noticed the last two Monday's I've posted essays from my From This Side of the Pond podcast. The podcast is still a spell off, but by posting the essays I'm giving the opportunity to get extra eyes on them, and extra eyes can help me spot flaws or errors which can be remedied.

As of today I have nineteen essays done. Today's has taken me nearly two weeks to write. The next one starts tomorrow, I'm hoping it will be quicker, I need to get the writing down to less than a week, which for a two-thousand word essay should be easily possible. Mainly it requires suitable research and a clear plan for the structure I want for the story I'm telling.

I'm also going to be plugging away at my LA noir novel. Work on it for the last eight weeks or so has been done in my head and mainly on the level of plot points or concepts. It's time to begin translating that to words on paper, well, screen.

How has your writing gone the last few months? Drop a message below and let us know.

Finally, a little update on my HIVE status re HP & HBD. These currently stand at 633.146 HP - of which 454 is delegated - and 169.209 HBD. I've got just over 4 HIVE liquid, which is to build until I've got enough to make a purchase on Terrorcore.

At today's price I've got an account value of $399.78.

One of the things I look forward to with regular posting is my account ticking upwards again more regularly.

Until next month...

Some will know The Proclaimers song I’m Gonna Be (500 miles). Well, it’s still the theme for this writing year: ‘and I will write 500 words, and I will write 500 more’.

This was inspiring Stuart, thank you. I haven't seen my horse in months, pretty sure he's 3 pastures over by now. Oh, yeah, and about your trip to the north of Scotland. Don't worry about me seething with jealousy, I am so not that guy anymore! OK, I am rarely that guy anymore. Alright, fine. Fine! I'm trying real hard not to be that guy anymore. ;-)

a pasture here, you can see the horse three away. over by you I guess that could put the cuddy in Canada or Montana
