Making Onigiri at Hive Creators Day / Hive Creators Dayでおにぎり

Since the day before yesterday, I’ve been in Graz, Austria for @buzzparty’s Hive Creators Day.

I wanted to introduce this Food & Culture community, so I made rice balls (onigiri), soul food of my home country Japan and salad to share during lunch on the second day. While out for a morning walk, I stumbled upon a market—and it felt like it was telling me, “You should make a salad too!” So I added that to the plan 😊

In the morning, I was in the kitchen making rice balls and salad while listening to the talks. Big thanks to the kind kitchen team who made me feel welcome.

Huge thanks to @reiseamature, the local host of the event, who so openly said “Sure!” to my sudden in away strange request to make onigiri, to everyone who showed interest in Food & Culture, and to those who gave the rice balls a try ☺️

It’s been a long-time dream of mine to travel, cook with local ingredients, and share that food with others. I was so happy to make that dream come true at Hive Creators Day. I really love how open-minded the Hive community is.

There was an announcement about the location of this year’s Hive Fest—it’ll be held in Kuala Lumpur! In October, I’m planning a trip to India during my daughter’s fall break, and now I’m wondering if I could make both happen somehow.

Could I cook something at Hive Fest too??? It’d be fun to make sushi in Kuala Lumpur with local ingredients. I started talking with my partner how can we combine India and Kuala Lumur ... almost certain I’ll go 😁

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be taking an early train back to Germany, so I focus on fully enjoying the afternoon talks and dinner.

一昨日から @buzzparty のHive Creators Dayでオーストリアのグラーツに来ています。

このFood & Cultureコミュニティを知ってもらいたくて、カンファレンスデーの2日目のお昼に合わせて、おにぎりとサラダを作りました。朝散歩に出かけたらマーケットがあって、「サラダも作りなよ!」と言われている気がしてサラダを追加することにしました 😊

午前中はおにぎりとサラダを作りながらキッチンでトークを聞いていました。親切にしてくださったキッチンチームのみなさん、ありがとうございました。

「おにぎり作ってもいいですか?」という突拍子のないリクエストを快諾してくれたグラーツのホストの @reiseamature さんはじめ、Food & Cultureに興味を持ってくださったみなさん、おにぎりを食べてみてくれたみなさん、ありがとうございました。

旅をしながら地元の食材で料理する、さらにそれをふるまうって長年の夢だったんですよね。それがHive Creators Dayでかなってとてもうれしかったです。そんなオープンマインドなユーザーの多いHiveが大好きです。

Hive Creators Dayでは今年のHive Festの開催地の発表があり、クアラルンプールとのこと。10月は子供の秋休みを利用してインド旅行を予定していて、なんとか両方実現できないかなと考え始めました。

Thank you for your kind comment, @livinguktaiwan 😊 I appreciate to the Hive community that I could make this funny idea to travel with rice cooker and rice 🍚 Actually I bought it for the Hive Fest last year but I felt a bit shy back then. Ja but now I more know people on Hive is so open minded that I could make this try 🐝
