Devils Lake is a beautiful Wisconsin state park in the summer, offering swimming, picnic areas, and playgrounds.
There are also boat rentals, where visitors can rent pedal boats, paddle boards, and kayaks. The lake water is clear and the rock formations make it a popular scuba diving spot. Many people fish from shore, but only electric powered motors are allowed on boats to protect water quality.
There are 29 miles of hiking trails and rock climbing.
And in winter there are people cross country skiing and snow shoeing.
These photos are from my family albums of a weekend hike in the park.
Located an hours drive from my house, Devil's Lake State Park is made up of bluffs that are believed to have been formed 1.6 billion years ago making them one of the most ancient surface rock area in North America.
Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wisconsin, is the state’s most popular state park, drawing nearly 3 million annual visitors. Encompassing over 10,000 acres, Devil’s Lake is part of over 27,000 acres of public recreational land in Sauk County. The park is situated on ancestral Ho-Chunk lands, who know it as Tee Wakącąk (Sacred Lake), and includes many ancient effigy mounds that remain culturally significant today.

Merry Christmas! we are hanging inside cooking today. We are having a turkey dinner since we were unable to do it at Thanksgiving. Great to see your family out enjoying the great outdoors in the snow 👍

Merry Christmas to you! Such pretty pictures from your family album! It's a gorgeous place with all of the snow. As a youngster I love snow and was a ski instructor, and now it's just too cold for my liking. Age seems to have taken it's toll! I hope you have a great day!
