RE: Weekend-engagement week 67: The important week

in Weekend Experiences β€’ 3 years ago (edited)

This would be my first time participating in this fun, I don't know why I always get to see it when it's almost closing πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ but good I found it just a few hours after publish.

Three important things to me would be Being Independent, My Phone and adventure

There are so many other important things to me but I choose to share these ones for the present.

Being Independent is very important to me, I've always being the dependent type to my parents until I tasted independency and I started to crave for it. Getting to work for my own money, spend it according to me and having the feeling of my siblings looking up to me is something I hold very dear.... Independency.

My Phone.... Ahaaa I want to believe you would understand why I said my phone is important to me. Without my phone, I'll be without Hive, no blogging for me and no chatting with friends.... It's unimaginable what life would be for me. My present phone is giving me issues and I'm hoping I'll get a new one before it finally knock off πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

I love adventure so an important thing for me now is going to places, visiting new places I've only seen on tv like South Korean... It's in my mind to visit there someday so it's an important plan to me.

If I'm to take one that's most important to me, it would be being independent and that is because it changed my life for the better and I can see an even more better future if I keep being independent in everything.

Thanks for reading πŸ˜‰

I used to love the concept of independence too till I learned the concept of interdependence.

Everyone is dependent on each other for things to work out.

For example, on hive, content creators like us, depends on programmers to create better features, user interface, take out bugs etc, so that we can enjoy more.

If there are not good content creators, it is just another software. It's not something unique.

The authors depends on curators, people engaging on their content to come up with better content, and write more creative topics.

I understand that no one wants to be dependent on their parents financially. And internet has enough potential and opportunities that you can work out that part in a few years.
But there are other sides too. The emotional part. The part where they get old, and don't have many friends or family members left to talk to, or to spend time with.
The only person they look up to is their kids.

I have not been on really good terms with my parents. It was mostly me though.
I am working on that part, and on my finances too.

The thing I realised a few years back is that once your financial life is stable, your relationship with parents starts getting better.
At least that happened with meπŸ˜‹

Good luck with your life. I hope you find everything good you are looking forπŸ˜‡

Ahaaa thanks a lot for this comment, I learnt something new from it and that is "Being Independent doesn't mean one is totally independent of some things" we still find ourselves depending on some things and I could relate with you and your family.

Thanks for the good wishes dear

Coming for the engagement around here and staying for the knowledge!

Ha, ha, ha. Are there any thought vampires around?

Keeps the mind's eye open for detection

Would that be like "It's generally to co operate than compete?" To your example, we content creators (well, I once was :)) seem to do better when we co operate with one another rather than just see who has the biggest reward. I'm thinking communities, here.

That way writers can support musicians and artists.

As in... instead of coming together to share a pie, let's come together and create a bigger pie for all. 😊

I was surprised about your phone being so important. I am trying to ditch the thing, to go back to the way life was before I was tethered to a device. But reading the comments, I see you are not alone.

πŸ˜‚ Good you saw that I'm not alone on this. But I understand what you mean though.

It's actually pretty easy. I deleted all apps. I use it for nothing but texts and calls. Now and then GPS. Just stop taking it everywhere. Liberating!

Welcome...

Here are some Refreshments from your friendly neighborhood Spiderm... @krazzytrukker

πŸ˜‚ You're always eating... Love your giphy

Not sure which is more appealing, that chili dog or a swift kick to the nuts and a plunger uppercut.

Both are pretty extreme..

But then again, you are a pretty extreme guy.

Go with this combo package and enjoy...

Yup, we do need our hardware. I am considering a reliable phone myself. I use a PC mostly, laptop occasionally, smartphone only for about 5 minutes a day when it comes to internet use.

I learned to trust second-hand equipment for working needs and it's fine when you know the source of it is decent. Reliable sources are a must. Luckily, we have some, since it's good business for them, leaving happy clients behind. That would vary depending on where in the world a person is.

Adventures make heroes and great stories. The best way to gain experience points and level up.

You use your smartphone only for about 5mins? That's so not me, maybe because I have no pc or laptop. I use my phone almost all the time.

I'm cutting down on my smart phone usage. I leave it home whenever possible! And even when it is with me, I leave it off, and turn it on only to check if someone who is very dependent on me has a problem. I have a landline, which always works and never needs upgrades.

Independence, your phone and adventure...Nice choices!

Having the freedom, (independence) to design an create life in the image we wish it look is of great importance; it can help us strategise and set goals which carry us forward towards what we can look upon in the future and call our best life. I think this is an excellent choice.

Of course, without your phone you wouldn't have been able to get involved so I'm pleased you have that too!

Thanks for joining in this week and I hope to see you around some more. Feel free to engage with some of the others here too.

πŸ˜‚ Thanks to my phone, I got to chat with you on this comment section... It's an honor. I've got to make sure I get a new phone before something happens to this one 😬

Yes, I think it's smart to forward-plan so that you're not left without phone comms.

Hey, a phone saves lives. Sometimes it's the only way I can do some actual work. I love the other two. Being Independent is such a great thing. No responsibilities over anything but your own being and things. Bliss in words!

I love adventure so an important thing for me now is going to places, visiting new places I've only seen on tv like South Korean... It's in my mind to visit there someday so it's an important plan to me.

I hope you can get this done soon enough and embark on more and more adventures.

Phone saves lives indeed, I agree with you on that... I just hope I get a new one before this old one goes off totally

I'll keep my fingers crossed for that. Hopefully, a brand new will be in your hands soon!

Hopefully
I'll make sure to share it here 😊

I'll make sure to check it out! πŸ˜„

Ha, ha, ha, ha. Oh, yeah. Super Phone! It saves lives daily. However, its service zone is restricted to some places.

With that list, you might want to try riding a motorcycle! I certainly value 2 of your three very highly.

I love the convenience of the modern phone but could live without it just fine.

Yeah, I could live without a phone if I do have a pc or laptop so it's understandable

I grew up with a phone as a corded appliance on a party line with as many as 12 other families, so I'm not a real good phone user. I have really large hands so I hate typing on the small keyboard. That said, it is almost always with me when I leave the house and close by when I am home.

Ahaa you have big hands? Now I'm curious to see how big they are but there are phones that are also big even not as big as laptops.

It cool, nice you still have your phone close

I only know of 2 companies that build gloves big enough for me. That big. Size XXXXL.

There are companies that build gloves for football players that are plenty big, but I'm talking motorcycle gloves here. When I used to play golf I'd buy the biggest glove I could find and cut the fingers off :)

I started carrying a phone when I was caretaking my parents. In about 2001. The good news is that I quit wearing a watch shortly after. I have a 'contact' in my phone ICE. It's my brother and it stands for In Case of Emergency in case I am in a motorcycle crash. I also have a little tube that is attached to my jacket zipper pull that Emergency Responders will recognize as emergency information. Dress for the fall...

Wow this is so much about your hands to know about... I think I can imagine how big your hands are from all you said.

That means you spend more since there are companies that make your gloves specifically.

Quitting watch after having a phone... Hmm

Yeah, my gloves are expensive. Really expensive.

I didn't need the watch to tell time, why wear it? I almost never wear any sort of jewelry. I do have my grandfather's Ruby ring-His hands were bigger than mine. He wore the ring on his right ring finger and I have to wear it on my middle finger.

I also have a necklace I wear when I'm on a big ride. Made for me by a jewelry designer friend with green tourmaline for protection.

Ah...me I can't do without my phone too o

I knew your phone will be in the list of things you will add to be important. You know, mobile phones play vital roles in the lives of people nowadays. If you desire to keep in touch with the globe and make ends meet, your phone must be a good friend.
Adventure? That's part of my bucket list for the year, to travel to Delta just to find you πŸ₯°πŸ€£

πŸ˜‚ Just to find me? Why am I feeling honored? Please your bucket list should start getting your attention so you will find me soon

Yes ooo. When you have the goose laying the golden egg, you gave no option than to secure it. So, I am coming to take you away.

πŸ˜‚ Please be quick o
I'm waiting patiently

Being independent really resonates with me as well! I hated being dependent on my parents, it made me feel very uneasy. It's great to now have the independence and know that I can make it by myself in this world

Exactly, and that is why we try to work harder so we could be less dependent on others and live life the way we want

Seems you just join in the fun, nice meeting you πŸ˜‹

untitled.gif

uuuuhhh...I totally understand why your phone is on the list. 🀣 I don't feel well when my phone is not around. 🀣

πŸ˜‚ I can remember a day I was just getting angry at the most slightest thing all because my phone refused to function well.

My phone is very important, can't hide it

Hahaha..I totally relate. Here in our neighborhood we often have power outages. Then there is no internet either. Plus I can't charge my phone. In such moments it really feels like my life is over.πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜‚ That is just so much to bear with and I understand how you'd feel in such situation.
I'm even facing power outage and low battery right now but I'll overcome soon

Welcome! Nice of you to join!

I like your first point about being independent and I can see how that would change a person's life.
And as long as you're happy in that independence, keep it that way!

Ohh the mobile phone.... Sighs.. Yes.. It's a big part of my social life and my work so I totally understand where you're coming from with this one...

Yeah yeah, that's my number one for sure... Who doesn't want to be free to do whatever he likes?
