Improving

in #hive3 years ago

I've been meaning to write this for a while, so here it goes:

Sorry for being salty/negative too frequently in the past months/past year.

Looking back, I can see how my stress level & workaholicism directly affected my behaviour and temperament. I'm normally a very optimistic & empathic person, but being so engaged and entangled within this project and its future, I've been taking things more personal than I should have, being far too overprotective of the project and interpreting attacks on Hive to attacks on myself.

I know that's not smart. But it would be even less smart to let the ego take away possibilities.

Reading harsh comments about myself on LEO's discord was brutal and a lot of it seems to be a misunderstanding (No, I haven't been farming rewards or stayed idle. I have been working constantly, I just didn't publically share any of it), but there was at least some truth in there. Especially regarding my perceived negativity.

Now, the last thing Hive needs is for me to be emotional or resentful or let my ego take the best of me.

LeoFinance is a great project and Khal is a very good marketer & leader and I should have been more supportive of it. That doesn't mean I'm going to buy LEO or am salty that I don't have any (because I'm really not). But I do see the value it brings by showing what's possible and being a good role model for communities on Hive.

There are also more people that I treated too harsh (jackmiller & netuoso for example), which I'm also sorry about.

Ultimately, this post is about wanting to do better, because I know I can.

@therealwolf These are very turbulent times for all of us. The lack of forecast alone is crippling....
Its a great step to recognize and "improve" in these times. I believe we can learn a lot these days.
Good luck -

This last year has been like no other in history, and that's without our own projects and challenges, it's great to feel the optimism in this post, it takes a certain person to write this - kudos

I think over the last year, on and off Hive, there has been a lot of pressure that has got to people in different ways. I think we all get frustrated at times and for me at least, what helps is looking long on life itself. These daily ups and downs and dramas come and go, but in the grand scheme of things, they are just a little bump or dip on the road, but meaningless to the greater journey.

All the best, mate.

We're only like one quarter on the way to that 0.5% inflation, so much can still change! Who'll be here by then and who'll be gone?

Even though a lot has changed, people seem to think that things won't change much going ahead. Even the inflation rate, will it be another 13 years to 0.5, or will the drop be doubled or tripled in the next couple years? I am not sure how many will make it 5 years, though as you know, 5 years is a long time in crypto :D

hello dear friend @therealwolf good morning
The situation that is being lived is prone to reach such a state.
I am very sorry that you have not felt well in recent times and that you have put a lot of pressure on yourself.

If you have hurt some people who did not deserve they will understand them, and it is good that you make it public what was happening so that those involved understand it.

All of us who love our company well have felt in some way in your same situation.

There are very good things about you, that you have realized and are doing something to remedy it, being self-critical and seeing the mistakes in ourselves is not easy things, much less admit it. You are doing very well.
Have a great day, enjoy it a lot.

Hello champ. Just you taking the step to write up a post and express what you feel is a huge one. I've been out of discord so I don't know what things they say or missconcepted about you. I don't know you, but I've seen that you have been tirelessly working for Hive and maybe over doing it like you stated.

Overdoing things can be a bitch. Because of that I've had my ups and downs with the chain. Balance is key though is a bit difficult and more with the opportunity presented at us in Hive.

Again, I don't know you, but I know people, because I know myself. You are an alpha, you are winner, you probably are cocky, arrogant, and even judgy and that's just fine because your human and not a bad one because if you took the time to write this up then there's still a heart in that chest of yours. Maybe you should develop more your emphaty. We usually make the mistake of judging others by their covers just because we don't take the time to see the full context.

Just because you are winner, doesn't mean everyone should be or can be. It takes a great deal of time, effort, and sacrifice to be one. That's why the whole damn world is poor and the rest is rich, you probably want it more than most of the average but that's you my friend, and you are unique. Maybe if you manage to understand that, things may be go well here as in real life. You look like the impulsive type. Me here especulating.

Cheers!

You announced a project. What will it be? :)

About being emotional, I'm also because of smts and it feels sometimes we miss a big opportunity.

Recently I asked on Twitter what will hive be for the average:

I would wish I could answer Tokenize the web and freedom + account ownership.

Also, people want to build on Hive not for Hive, for that we need the Tools.

Think about flames the other way, in online marketing, you always have people that hate you, but:

if they hate you, you have their attention. Think that way. Hate is on the internet like an honor. You need to work for that.

I would wish we would work on hive more together. One Vision shared. I see devs work working on projects at the same time, there are in general similar. IF they would work together that would be awesome.

About Netuso, he is an arrogant leecher like justine

Don't be salty or sad, simple be happy :)

I can relate to being emotional about Hive and lashing out at times to people, although to this day not many have told me that the ones I did lash out to didn't deserve it. :P If they didn't and if I think people just don't tell me cause of my curation position and think it may have consequences on what I curate or don't curate, I usually look it over a few days later again to see if I'd judge it different in a calmer state. If I am wrong though I do make the effort to rectify my actions and apologize, I think that's something not many do or don't want to seem weak doing so, hence I appreciate this message here today.

When claiming rewards was fed to us by ned, his reasoning was to diminish the number of transactions bloating the chain.

Do you really need your munies sooooo bad?
You can't set that bot to claim them once a day and stop bloating the chain with hundreds of transactions per day?

Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware that claiming got triggered so often. Reduced it to a more sustainable amount. 🙂

What do you think about eliminating the poor tax on voting?

Good evening. This is a great post. You are a really strong and decent person, not everyone can admit their mistakes and apologize for them. I am writing this without flattery, I think so and this is my opinion. I wish you good health and wellbeing.

We all make mistakes, but at the end of the day what matters is to realize them and learn from them to become a better version of ourselves. Good for you that you acknowledged your flaws and decided to change.

Chill, suppprt Hive on a less stress mode, do a little subtle quiet marketing for Hive, and just enjoy the experience. You, me and everybody else who came from ste$££%~ era knows our own worth in this awesome blockchain.
Dont worry, others are taking the stress that you left for awhile.
Its just a matter of cycles.

Stay alive for Hive.

Ultimately, this post is about wanting to do better, because I know I can.

That's the first sign of doing it better. Yes, things change when we take the first step and humbly submit to the self.

Admitting is the first step. Lots don't get to that step!

It gets to us at some point. How you handle it going forward is what matters.

Well, it was amusing to read, so thanks for that anyway :)

You do your best you can do this
