RE: Operation #Ping [7 Day Bonus Round!] EARN 🌀 + ☄️ TOKENS

in #ping2 years ago

It’s showingUP from the notification link. I can see it and all the other test comments from the ecency app buuuut as soon as I go to the browser view (from my computer), scroll down the comment feed, I am unable to see any of the comments. This is the case on Hive Blog, Ecency, and PeakD Front end. So! This is a limitation to the Hive Blockchain! Probably it cuts of the ability to view comments after 2,000 comments!

For me… this is the equivalent to learning that the world you thought was infinite and round is actually flat and limited. 🤯

I’m still processing what I should do next about this… I have already lost nearly 2 months in this discovery. 😥

No, it is not. To be sure, I checked with one of the devs/witnesses, and they confirm there is no such limit on the blockchain. So, the problem lies either with your computer ~or~ the interface you're using.

How much RAM do you have in your computer? If you don't have much RAM, then that might be the problem, as the machine can't handle all the caching activity required to scroll through so many messages in short order. I have 16 GB of RAM and was able to scroll through hundreds of comments on this post with PEAKD — in fact, they kept coming as long as I kept scrolling, in an endless stream.

If you have lots of RAM in your computer to handle the swaps to cache easily, and still feel there is a problem, I'd pick one interface (such as Ecency or PeakD) and reach out to that team, specifically. If you can share some of your notifications with them and indicate that they are not showing your browser, they might be able to look into the issue further. But, rest assured, the problem is not with a limitation within the blockchain, itself!

Perhaps reach out to The Terminal and ask them about the issue. They are fabulous about all things Hive. Ask @jamerussell or @thekittygirl if they can help to demystify the issue. They can potentially help you to find out what Hive's limits are or point you in the right direction... and if there is a specific issue it can be referred to a Hive dev for a fix? (assuming there are such things with availability).
