Getting deep this week and making it a bit about yourself! I'd rather eat chocolate than frogs. But wait a minute, chocolate frogs! Which card did I get?
I've got to keep coming up with topics so I generally look outside the box for them, get creative. I guess people will relate or respond to them or not.

Lol, I've eaten some weird things including the two you mention, camel and emu too. Lol...Beef and chicken is the way to go though.
Some wild we treat as normal, bought kangaroo here at a Spar years ago not bad in stew. Generally stick with the norm beef, chicken, ostrich, pork, lamb or mutton.
I'm not a huge fan of kangaroo although may eat it from time to time. It needs to be cooked on the rare side really, and I'm a medium steak guy so when I do kangaroo it's often just a smidge too cooked. I love me some deer though, you tried it? Venison I mean.
Had no clue how to cook your 'roo was tasty by what I remember. Ate Reindeer or caribou when up North visiting the region.
Here at home we get venison with many farmers supplying Kudu to local butchers, a favourite for biltong. Warhog, Impala, Springbok, Eland meats you will come across in specific butcheries. When visiting game regions, normally cooked on spit braai over coals to perfection.

But right now I am going outside to fire up the chainsaw for a few hours around 6:30am here.
I still have 3 of 6 large southern oaks that the tree monsters knocked down for me to cut, split into fire wood and clean up (burn) the brush. About half done cleaning up the front six acres.
3 pecker billy goats and one legged men in ass kicking contests got nothin' on this way too busy man...

No worries, and yeah I do too, I'm not in the mood to reward boring stuff much anymore. People will start to see lower rewards (if any rewards) on boring, bland posts.
In my case, I think it depends on the topic I choose. If I understand it as a serious topic, I will launch a transcendental and objective reflection, but maybe that's not what people want to read on the weekend. If I found some topic funny, surely my photos and writing will have that tone as well. I think I will have to favor the latter topic 😃. Thanks for that comment, because one knows more about the curator's and administrator's criteria.
I don't think writing a boring post depends on the topic. Boring is boring no matter the topic. I'm looking for interesting posts to curate and will not vote on the low-effort boring posts people drop in the hope they get a vote from me. I see the same people do it each week, here and on other posts they do.
Yes, you are right! One can talk about a flower, and make it boring. While another talks about the same flower and makes you believe it is one of the seven wonders of the world and wish you could see it before you die.... It's true. And that's also what I mean, that one as a creator finds the right approach and style, interesting, appealing, and is able to capture it in the post. I agree with you: it doesn't depend on the topic, it depends on our approach as an author. All your topics are good week by week, but sometimes you approach them in a boring way, and you don't put a lot of effort into them.

I don't exaggerate (too much) when I refer to my posts. My time here and the opinions of some of my colleagues should boost my confidence but I have to fight with what's in my head. Before I start writing anything, my impression is that I won't find anything interesting to say or show. It's true that after a hard start, I mean the introduction is the hardest for me (and here I'm referring exclusively to writing)... as I write, ideas and relaxation start to come.
I understand, modesty is something a real man displays, braggadocio is for those with self-esteem issues.
Often, if I get stuck on writing...I just write anything, it doesn't matter what. That usually gets a few thoughts happening and away I go.
Thanks for your example, I'll try to do that too, and see what comes out. It seems like an exercise in freedom that I'm not accustomed to.

I don't think I've ever told a serious lie. That doesn't mean I haven't told a little white one or ten, but those were mostly to keep from hurting someone's feelings with the truth. All of the sudden my sins jumped on me while I was typing that with a thought or two things from a VERY long time ago ! LOLOLOL .... I have done a thing or two that would have hurt someone if they knew, but I never told it and I didn't get caught, so I never had to lie about it. Normally, say 99 percent of the time I don't do anything I would need to lie about. It makes life easier.
I made myself laugh when I thought the following sentence: I've never lied before and I never will again.

Ohhh!!! @galenkp, I love this initiative, I am a father of two daughters and I am always collaborating with household chores, so this initiative suits me very well, because of all the chores there is one that I really don't like at all, I will post it for sure. Greetings.

The weekend is already here 😀, the topics are wonderful, to me the number one topic is a serious battle in most African families in the African soil, (Countries ) mostly in my country Nigeria, where men totally believe that house chores are specifically the duty of the girl child, women, their wives, mothers, to do on daily basis,
Traditionally here, it's expected that a girl, a mother or women generally are responsible for sweeping, mobbing the floor, washing dishes, cooking the family meals, washing dirty clothes at all times while the boy child, men, or even husbands supposed to break firewood for cooking, or goes out to play football and be busy with masculine activities, like making decisions, playing draft, drinking palm wine and many other things very suitable for the menfolk.
Africans believe and behaves differently from the whites when it comes to such things like in topic number one.

My weekend has been a bit complicated, as I've had to eat a lot of frogs, but now I'm going to eat the one I like the most. I'm going to prepare the table 😋.

It would be nice if someone from time to time would eat the frogs we get hahaha, but it is true, there is always something to do and it must be well planned and organised so that everything goes as smoothly as possible. It's always a pleasure to be here on the weekends. 😊
I guess that's true, but I feel a strong sense of ownership personally, and responsibility, so tend to address things myself and prefer it that way. In this way I can't lay blame on anyone else for things that may go wrong, only myself, and I also get the sense of achievement when I move somethign forward positively knowing I did that myself, through effort, persistence and determination. You know?
Agreed. I'm the same way, I like to do my own thing and be responsible for its results for better or worse. I was referring in this case to daily chores, for example housework. Today I had to wash, clean and organise the house. If someone else had done it I wouldn't mind, at least a little help would be nice, don't you think?
Oh yeah, with chores it's ok for someone else to do it...anyone but me. :)
I don't mind doing it really though, I like to be tidy and present my house well and my girl and I do the chores together, or split them. I'm not great at bed-making though, however I try. (Pretty much just pull the covers up over the bed and hope that's good enough!) 😁
😂 It's not machismo or anything like that, it's just in the genes. 😂😂 My husband tries it too, but he gets something similar. Anyway, we women appreciate it (except when he does the laundry all together, be it white or coloured) 🙃

Well… I know these are all in fun and meant to get people chatting and posting, but the way these are phrased… it just makes it seem like chores are women’s to do, assign and pester about. It’s not some big favor to do chores. It is just something adults need to do without being instructed, bribed into, or applauded at completion.
