Guys, if you haven't heard yet...

I've been working on a chatbot on HIVE that allows you to speak with AI (the Llama 3.3 Model) directly on HIVE comments!

Just tag @llamathreads and you'll get a link with instructions for how to use it!

Exciting News!

@ahmadmanga's chatbot on HIVE uses Llama 3.3 Model, allowing AI conversations directly on comments.
Tag llamathreads for a link to get started!
What kind of conversations are you looking forward to having with AI on HIVE?

Can you help me understand the use case of this? I like the technical aspect and great the it "works", but interactions with an LLM is for me among the least things I'd want on a blockchain.

Well, depends...

  • One idea is to ask LLMs for summarizing conversations, or longer articles on HIVE. (Right now there's a message length limit that I'll remove in an upcoming update.)
  • Ask it to provide new perspective to what you or other people have talked about before. It could read the previous comments and the main blog above them.
  • For fun(?)
  • For convenience for asking about simple things without leaving the blockchain.

It is designed for people who do Not mind the interaction being on the blockchain, though.

I also plan to add feature that scrapes linked URLs and give summaries to them too, but I'm not sure how to add that yet.

...Also, people might find other use cases for it that doesn't cross my mind...

For example, I asked llamathread to answer a simple question without me needing to leave INLEO/HIVE:

Define "Digital Nomad" @llamathreads

Digital Nomad Definition

A digital nomad is someone who works remotely, often traveling, using technology to stay connected. According to Nomad List, they typically work online, have location independence, and a flexible schedule. Examples include remote developers, writers, and entrepreneurs.

I think me seeing this thread proves it, doesn't it?

Hi Joel. Yeah, I think I will divide myself, in order to be here while I continue with what I'm doing, lol. I could learn something new here.

I don't have many comments to make, but just letting you know I'm listening haha

I made the invite to RarePassenger before, but please get him over here, lol. He's a super cool dude. I deleted my X accounts so I don't get to interact with him anymore.

I'll get him!

Just got the notification on youtube... Will have to do something before I could focus on it though.

Part 1/5:

How to Make Delicious Kimchi Pancake: A Step-by-Step Guide

Kimchi pancakes, known as kimchijeon in Korean, are a simple yet flavorful dish that can be easily made at home. Whether using homemade or store-bought kimchi, the key to a delicious pancake is to ensure your kimchi is sour, indicating it has fermented well. This article will walk you through the process of making this delightful dish, which is cherished by families and friends alike.

Ingredients You Will Need

To whip up a tasty kimchi pancake, gather the following ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound of sour kimchi (approximately 8 ounces)

  • 2 tablespoons of kimchi brine

  • 2 tablespoons of chopped onion (optional, add for sweetness)

  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup of water

Part 2/5:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of Swerve (or sugar)

  • Vegetable oil (or grape seed/corn oil) for frying

With these simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful pancake that’s sure to please everyone.

Preparing the Pancake Mixture

Start by chopping your kimchi into small pieces on a cutting board. After you’ve chopped the kimchi, press it down to release some of its brine. Add about two tablespoons of this kimchi brine into a mixing bowl.

Next, if you would like some added sweetness, you can chop up two tablespoons of onion and mix that in as well. Then, combine the kimchi and onion with half a cup of flour and half a cup of water. Add your chosen sweetener—whether it’s Swerve or sugar—into the mixture. The flour acts as a binding agent, helping to hold the pancake together.

Part 3/5:

Cooking the Kimchi Pancake

Heat up a non-stick skillet and add around two tablespoons of vegetable oil. The oil is crucial for achieving that crispy outer texture, so be generous. Spread the kimchi mixture into the pan until it forms a large circle, aiming for a size of about 12 inches.

Let it cook for around two minutes, allowing it to develop a crispy bottom. To flip the pancake, use a large spatula, and gently lift it up in one swift motion—this is where the non-stick surface is a lifesaver!

After flipping, let the other side cook for a similar duration. If needed, add in an additional two tablespoons of oil around the edges to ensure it remains crispy.

Serving Your Kimchi Pancake

Part 4/5:

Once your pancake is golden brown and crisp on both sides, it’s time to serve! Slide the pancake out of the pan onto a cutting board. You can use chopsticks or forks to tear pieces off to share with family and friends.

The sound of crunching as you break the pancake apart signifies a well-cooked treat. This dish is juicy, crispy, soft, and has that perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors thanks to the fermented kimchi.

Enjoying Your Creation

Kimchi pancakes can be enjoyed as a snack, or they can complement a larger meal. They pair excellently with rice or alongside a drink like makgeolli (a Korean rice liquor) or soju. Your family and friends are sure to love this dish, making it a delightful addition to any gathering.

Conclusion

Part 5/5:

Today, you’ve learned how to prepare kimchi pancakes—kimchijeon—that are not only simple to make but also packed with flavor and nutrition. This dish is a favorite for many Koreans and has found its way into homes across cultures. Gather around with loved ones and enjoy your homemade creation. Until next time, happy cooking!

Delicious Homemade Banana Milk

Banana milk is a delightful beverage that turns simple ingredients into a creamy, sweet drink perfect for any time of day. This article guides you through the simple process of making your own delicious banana milk at home, ensuring you get the most flavor from your bananas.

Choosing the Right Bananas

The quality of your banana milk starts with the bananas you use. As bananas ripen, they develop black spots, indicating their peak sweetness. Using these mature bananas enhances the flavor of the milk, making it much more enjoyable.

Preparing Your Equipment

Part 2/4:

Before diving into the recipe, it’s essential to ensure that your equipment is clean. Disinfect washed glass bottles by immersing them in boiling water. This step will help preserve the freshness of your banana milk.

Ingredients You'll Need

To make a satisfying batch of banana milk, gather the following ingredients:

  • 360 grams of ripe bananas

  • 60 grams of sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 150 grams of milk (your choice of dairy or plant-based)

  • Additional bananas for chunk pieces

  • Optional: Decorate your bottles with banana stickers for a fun touch!

Making the Banana Base

  1. Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut them into manageable pieces, preparing 360 grams for the base of your milk.

Part 3/4:

  1. Blend the Mixture: In a bowl, combine the cut bananas with 60 grams of sugar and 150 grams of milk. Using a hand blender, blend the mixture until it becomes a smooth and fine consistency.

  2. Bottle It Up: Once blended, pour 190 grams of the banana mixture into each clean, disinfected bottle.

Adding Banana Pieces

Next, it’s time to add some texture to your banana milk.

  1. Cut 150 grams of bananas into small pieces.

  2. Distribute 50 grams of these banana chunks into each of the bottles you prepared earlier.

  3. Finally, add 250 grams of milk to each bottle to achieve the desired consistency and creaminess.

Final Touches

To complete your homemade banana milk, give each bottle a good shake to ensure that all ingredients are mixed thoroughly.

Storage and Serving

Part 4/4:

For the best flavor, refrigerate your banana milk for at least two days before serving. This allows the sweetness of the bananas to infuse into the milk, resulting in a delicious, sweet, dark banana milk.

Conclusion

In just a few steps, you've created a rich and satisfying banana milk that is sure to delight your taste buds. Enjoy your homemade treat, and don’t forget to share it with friends and family! Thank you for following along with this recipe today.

Part 1/6:

Understanding the Importance of Open Captions

Open captions have become an essential feature in video content, offering accessibility to a broader audience. The practice of including captions has transformed the way people consume media, allowing individuals with hearing impairments and those who do not speak the language fluently to engage with the material. In this article, we explore the significance of open captions, their benefits, and why they should be an integral part of video production.

The Role of Open Captions in Accessibility

Part 2/6:

Open captions are text overlays that appear on a video, displaying spoken dialogue and relevant sound effects. Unlike closed captions, which can be turned on or off, open captions are always visible. This constant accessibility makes them particularly beneficial for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

By providing a textual representation of the audio, open captions enable these viewers to follow along with the story being told. Moreover, they contribute to an inclusive viewing experience, ensuring that no one is left out due to auditory challenges.

Enhancing Comprehension and Language Learning

Part 3/6:

In addition to aiding those with hearing loss, open captions can also assist non-native speakers in improving their language skills. Watching videos with captions allows learners to connect spoken language with its written form, enhancing their vocabulary and comprehension.

Furthermore, subtitles encourage viewers to pay closer attention to the dialogue, which can result in deeper understanding and retention of information. This dual exposure to audio and text is particularly advantageous in educational contexts or for individuals trying to familiarize themselves with a new language.

The Rise of Open Captions in Digital Media

Part 4/6:

As video consumption continues to rise, many platforms are integrating open captions into their content. The demand for accessible media has prompted creators and distributors to prioritize inclusivity. With more consumers viewing videos on their mobile devices, where sound may not be available, open captions ensure that audiences can fully engage with the material regardless of their environment.

Platforms like social media, streaming services, and education-focused websites are leading the way by offering open captions as a standard feature. This shift reflects a growing recognition of the importance of accessibility and the need for media to be enjoyed by everyone.

Best Practices for Implementing Open Captions

Part 5/6:

When incorporating open captions into video content, there are several best practices to consider:

  1. Timing and Synchronization: Captions should be timed accurately to match the dialogue and sound effects. Misalignment can confuse viewers and detract from the overall experience.

  2. Font Size and Style: Use a font that is easy to read and large enough for viewers to see comfortably. Ensure high contrast between the text and video background.

  3. Brevity and Clarity: Capture the essence of what is being said without becoming overly verbose. Clear, concise wording enhances the viewing experience.

  4. Positioning: Place captions in a way that does not obstruct important visual elements in the video. Balancing readability with unobtrusiveness is key.

Conclusion

Part 6/6:

Open captions play a pivotal role in making media accessible to all individuals, regardless of their auditory abilities or language proficiency. By providing a means for everyone to enjoy video content fully, their inclusion is not just a trend but a commitment to inclusivity and understanding. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, embracing open captions will undoubtedly lead to richer experiences and wider audience engagement.

For creators, this means recognizing the importance of high-quality captioning— elevating both the content and the viewer's experience.

MasterChef World- How To Cook The Perfect Italian Tomato Sauce | MasterChef New Zealand. #foodtalk #italiancuisine #tomatosauce #italiantomatosauce #cooking #masterchef

Part 1/7:

Mastering the Perfect Italian Tomato Sauce

Making the perfect Italian tomato sauce is considered one of the fundamental skills in Italian cuisine. This sauce serves as the foundation for a multitude of iconic dishes, from pizzas to pasta and hearty stews. Understanding the components and techniques behind this staple is crucial for anyone aiming to elevate their cooking game.

The Importance of Tomato Sauce in Italian Cooking

Tomato sauce embodies the essence of Italian cooking, and recognizing its significance allows chefs to understand the building blocks of this culinary tradition. Whether you're creating a comforting pasta dish or a savory ragu, a well-made tomato sauce is essential. Many amateurs may think they have mastered the recipe until they taste a proper Italian version.

Part 2/7:

A personal anecdote highlights this realization: after serving a homemade pasta dish in Italy, the cook discovered that an authentic sauce requires not just the right ingredients, but also proper technique—namely, adequate oil and sufficient cooking time.

Starting with the Sofrito

The journey to the perfect sauce begins with a basic preparation known as sofrito. This essential mixture involves finely chopping two onions and four cloves of garlic. It's not about perfection; rustic chopping suffices. Cook these aromatics in a generous amount of olive oil—approximately 100 ml—to help create a flavorful base.

The Essential Cooking Technique

Part 3/7:

The first step in crafting your tomato sauce involves cooking the onions until they are soft and translucent. Patience is key, as this process typically takes 10-15 minutes over a low heat. During this cooking phase, a pinch of salt and a bit of pepper can be added to enhance flavor. For a richer sauce, consider including finely diced carrots or celery, known collectively as odori, which contribute aromatic depth.

Incorporating the Tomatoes

Part 4/7:

Once the onions have reached the desired softness, it's time to add the star of the show: tomatoes. The recipe calls for two cans of crushed Italian tomatoes and tomato puree. These canned tomatoes provide a robust flavor, while the puree offers thickness, making for a beautifully textured sauce. It's advised against removing seeds, as the rustic nature of an Italian sauce should shine through with all its ingredients intact.

Simmering to Perfection

After combining these ingredients, let the mixture come back to a boil before reducing it to a simmer for approximately 20 minutes. The goal here is to develop a sauce that is both thick and jammy, rather than watery. A well-balanced sauce will transform dishes and provide a delightful culinary experience.

Cooking the Pasta

Part 5/7:

While the sauce simmers, preparing the pasta is essential. It's recommended to use a large pot filled with salted water—similar to the salinity of the Mediterranean Sea. Properly seasoned water is crucial, as it significantly enhances the flavor of the pasta itself. Avoid adding olive oil to the cooking water; instead, keep the pasta moving to prevent sticking.

Al Dente is Key

The optimal cooking point for pasta is known as al dente, which means it should be tender with a slight firmness when bitten. To check for doneness, tasting is the most reliable method. Once cooked, utilize a colander to drain the pasta, but hold on to some cooking water in case you need to adjust the sauce consistency.

Bringing It All Together

Part 6/7:

Now that your sauce has thickened and the pasta is perfectly cooked, it's time to combine the two. Mixing the pasta and sauce is a critical step that transforms a simple meal into a delicious offering. Italians often serve pasta in a large bowl, mixing it with sauce directly before serving, ensuring even distribution.

Final Touches

To finish this delightful dish, consider garnishing with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and aromatic basil leaves. The warmth of the pasta releases the fragrance of the basil, creating an irresistibly enticing meal. Pair it with a glass of red wine, and you have a beautiful Italian dining experience.

Conclusion

Part 7/7:

Creating the perfect Italian tomato sauce is about respecting tradition and understanding the techniques that yield fantastic flavors. With patience, the right ingredients, and a passion for cooking, you can master this essential dish that serves as the cornerstone of countless Italian meals. Enjoy the process and savor the results, as there's truly nothing like a homemade tomato sauce.

Delicious Brazilian Rain Cakes: A Perfect Afternoon Snack

Today, we delve into the delightful world of Brazilian cuisine with a recipe for bolinho de chuva, or rain cakes—an irresistible snack perfect for your afternoon cravings. This fluffy treat is not only soft and delicious but also incredibly simple and practical to make. Let's walk through the step-by-step process to recreate these tasty bites at home.

Ingredients You’ll Need

To begin your adventure in making bolinho de chuva, gather the following ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup (120 ml) of sugar

  • 1 cup (240 ml) of milk (at room temperature)

  • 2 ½ cups (300 g) of all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder (chemical leavening)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Part 2/5:

  • Optional: sugar and ground cinnamon (for coating)

Mixing the Batter

Start by cracking the two eggs into a bowl and add in the ½ cup of sugar. Using a whisk or spatula, mix these two ingredients thoroughly for around a minute until well combined.

Next, pour in the cup of milk, continuing to mix until the batter is smooth. Gradually incorporate the flour, adding it slowly to maintain an even consistency. It is essential to ensure that the batter is not too runny nor too thick; a moderately thick consistency yields the best results when frying.

Once all the flour is mixed in, add the baking powder and stir well to make sure it is evenly distributed through the batter.

Frying the Cakes

Part 3/5:

Now it’s time to fry your cakes! In a deep pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil to a temperature suitable for frying (but not smoking).

Using two spoons, scoop small portions of the batter and carefully gently drop them into the hot oil. As you fry, you’ll notice that the cakes often turn themselves with minimal intervention, thanks to the batter's consistency.

It's crucial to keep an eye on them as they cook; if any cake doesn't flip by itself, gently assist it with a spoon to ensure even cooking. The goal is to achieve a beautiful golden-brown color.

Once they are perfectly cooked, remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. This step is vital for making sure your final product is not greasy.

The Finishing Touches

Part 4/5:

Continue the process until all the batter is transformed into delectable bolinho de chuva. Depending on the size you choose, this recipe can yield around 63 pieces—a perfect number for sharing!

If you love the combination of sugar and cinnamon, here’s how to elevate the flavor. In a bowl, mix one cup of sugar with one teaspoon of ground cinnamon. After frying all the cakes, roll each one in this delicious mixture for that extra touch of sweetness.

The Final Reveal

After coating them with the sugar and cinnamon mixture, it's time to serve! The bolinho de chuva should be fluffy, soft, and dry to the bite, without any excessive oil. They not only look beautiful but are also incredibly enjoyable to eat.

Conclusion

Part 5/5:

In conclusion, these Brazilian rain cakes are a delightful treat that anyone can make at home. Whether enjoyed plain or dusted with sugar and cinnamon, they are bound to bring a smile to your face. If you loved this recipe, don't forget to leave a like and share your thoughts in the comments! Part 2/4:

Start preparing your batter by whisking together the eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.

Once blended, add a pinch of salt and the optional vanilla essence for extra flavor.

Next, pour in the milk and blend again. Slowly incorporate the flour, ensuring to mix until a slightly firmer mass than traditional cake batter is achieved. Finally, add the baking powder and mix thoroughly to ensure that it is evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Preparing for Frying

With the batter ready, it’s time to heat the oil. Pour an ample amount of oil into a frying pan, ensuring it is hot but not overly so—too much heat will cook the exterior while leaving the inside raw.

Frying the Bolinhos

Part 3/4:

Using two tablespoons, scoop the batter. One spoon will serve to hold the batter, while the other will help slide the batter into the hot oil, forming a round shape. Do this process repeatedly until the pan is filled, but be sure not to overcrowd it.

You will notice that the bolinhos will begin to turn golden and, in the process, will flip naturally in the oil. Once they reach your desired level of crispiness and color, take them out and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Finishing Touches

Once all the bolinhos are fried, it’s time to dress them for serving. Roll them in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon, achieving that classic sweet crust that makes them utterly irresistible.

Enjoying Your Treat

Part 4/4:

With a fresh batch ready, it’s best to enjoy them warm. Pair with a freshly brewed coffee for the perfect afternoon snack!

If you enjoyed making bolinho de chuva, don’t hesitate to share the recipe with your friends and family.

The Perfect Rainy Day Treat: How to Make Bolinho de Chuva

On a cozy day when the rain taps gently against the window, there's nothing quite like the warmth of a freshly made bolinho de chuva. This delightful Brazilian treat, known as "rain cake," is not only a nostalgic snack but also an easy recipe that anyone can master with the right guidance. In this article, we’ll unravel the steps to create perfectly fluffy bolinhos de chuva, along with some helpful tips for ensuring they come out just right.

Overview of Ingredients

To start, let’s take a look at the ingredients you’ll need for this fantastic recipe:

  • 15/2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 200 ml (1 cup) of milk

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder

  • Vanilla essence

Part 2/6:

All these ingredients come together to create a magical mixture that transforms into delicious golden-brown treats. Don’t worry if you're uncertain about proportions; the recipe is quite forgiving and allows for adjustments.

Mixing the Batter

The first step is crucial: the consistency of the batter. A common pitfall while making bolinho de chuva is ending up with a batter that is too runny, which can result in cakes that are burnt on the outside yet undercooked on the inside.

To avoid this, begin by mixing the sugar and vanilla essence thoroughly. Then, gradually add the milk, followed by the flour and baking powder. Mixing the flour slowly allows you to achieve the proper dough consistency.

Part 3/6:

As you mix, check the texture frequently. The dough should be somewhat firm; if it appears loose, simply add more flour until you reach the perfect consistency. Remember, it’s all about balance!

The Art of Frying

After preparing the batter, the next step is frying the bolinhos. This part requires a bit of finesse, especially when it comes to oil temperature.

For the perfect fry, it's paramount to maintain a moderate heat. If the oil is too hot, the outside of the cake will brown too quickly, leaving the insides uncooked. Conversely, if the oil is too cold, the bolinhos will soak up too much oil, resulting in a greasy finish. Aim for a middle ground, and use a small saucepan to help regulate the temperature better.

Part 4/6:

Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Turn each bolinho gently to ensure they receive even frying on all sides.

The Sweet Finish

Once the bolinhos are golden and beautifully puffed, remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

To give these treats a classic finish, mix sugar and cinnamon together in another bowl and toss the warm bolinhos in this mixture as soon as they come out of the oil. The sugar adds a delightful sweetness, while the cinnamon offers a warm, aromatic touch that complements the flavor beautifully.

Serving and Enjoying

Part 5/6:

Before diving in, allow the bolinhos to cool slightly. Serve them fresh for an unparalleled treat, and they're even better with a hot cup of coffee or milk.

This simple recipe not only brings joy and comfort but also creates a wonderful opportunity for family bonding, especially if you involve children in the making process. With easy instructions and readily available ingredients, you’ll soon find that these little delights may become a staple in your household.

Conclusion

Part 6/6:

So gather your ingredients and prepare to embrace the cozy atmosphere that a fresh batch of bolinhos de chuva brings. With this straightforward recipe and the tips provided, you'll be well-equipped to create a delightful treat that's perfect for any rainy day gathering. Don’t forget to share your creations with friends and family—after all, there’s nothing better than a warm, sweet snack enjoyed together. Happy frying!

Delightful Rainy Day Treat: How to Make Brazilian "Bolinhos de Chuva"

When the rain comes pouring down, there's nothing quite like a warm, comforting treat to enjoy. In Brazilian cuisine, one such delight is Bolinhos de Chuva, or "rain cakes." These fluffy, cinnamon-sugar-coated goodies are a nostalgic childhood favorite, perfect for a cozy day indoors. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to create these delicious bites from scratch.

Understanding the Ingredients

The ingredient list for Bolinhos de Chuva is simple and requires only a few staples commonly found in most kitchens.

  • Egg: Provides structure and moisture to the dough.

  • Melted Butter: Adds richness and flavor.

  • Sugar: Sweetens the batter, balancing the flavors.

Part 2/5:

  • All-purpose Flour: Acts as the base, giving the cake its body.

  • Milk: Contributes to the batter's consistency.

  • Baking Powder: A leavening agent responsible for the light and fluffy texture.

  • Salt: Enhances the overall flavor.

  • Cinnamon and Sugar Mix: For dusting after frying, adding a classic touch.

The Mixing Process

Begin by heating the oil for frying. In a mixing bowl, crack open an egg and add a tablespoon of melted butter, freshly taken out from the microwave. Next, incorporate what amounts to one cup of sugar (which can be creatively adjusted based on your sweetness preference) along with a pinch of salt to bring all the flavors together.

Part 3/5:

Using a spatula, mix the ingredients until well combined. The goal is to thoroughly blend the sugar into the base mixture, resulting in a smooth texture. To achieve this, introduce one cup of all-purpose flour incrementally, ensuring you mix it step-by-step with milk. Start with half a cup of flour, then gradually add a quarter cup of milk while stirring gently to prevent any splatter—especially if you're wearing your favorite shirt!

Afterward, incorporate the remaining flour and pour in the rest of the milk. Finish off the batter by adding half a tablespoon of baking powder, but remember, this should be done right before frying to maximize its leavening effect.

Frying the Bolinhos de Chuva

Part 4/5:

Now that your batter is ready, check if the oil has reached the right temperature. A quick test can be done by dropping in a small amount of batter; if it sizzles and rises to the surface, you’re all set! Scoop out spoonfuls of the batter with a teaspoon, allowing them to gently slide into the hot oil. Use a deeper pot instead of a frying pan for better results, as it allows the cakes to submerge properly and fry evenly.

As the Bolinhos de Chuva cook, they will brown beautifully. Once golden, remove them from the oil and prepare for the final touch: a sugary coating.

The Sugary Coating

For an extra burst of flavor, mix together a quarter cup of sugar with a teaspoon of cinnamon. This mixture will add a nostalgic sweetness when you dust it over the freshly fried Bolinhos.

Part 5/5:

While the cakes are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until thoroughly coated. The result? A delightful treat that brings back memories of rainy days spent indoors with family.

The Perfect Ensemble for Rainy Days

Bolinhos de Chuva are more than just a snack; they're a connection to childhood moments. The soft, fluffy texture paired with the warm cinnamon-sugar finish makes them irresistible. Serve them with coffee or tea for a truly authentic experience.

So, whether the skies are gray or blue, the joy of making and sharing Bolinhos de Chuva will brighten any day. Enjoy!

The Joy of Making Bolinho de Chuva

Bolinho de chuva is a delightful Brazilian treat that holds a special place in the hearts of many, often associated with fond childhood memories and family gatherings. In this article, we will explore a simple and versatile recipe for bolinho de chuva, which can be customized in a variety of delicious ways.

A Classic Recipe

Bolinho de chuva is not just any snack; it’s comfort food that can evoke memories of rainy days spent indoors, surrounded by loved ones. The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and flexibility. You can make traditional bolinhos, chocolate-flavored ones, or even those enriched with banana or apple.

Part 2/7:

The basic steps to prepare bolinho de chuva include gathering common ingredients that most households have on hand. The recipe starts by combining a large egg with half a cup of sugar, and grating the zest of a lemon, which adds a refreshing twist. This mixture is then blended with half a cup of milk (or an alternative like water or fruit juice), followed by one and a quarter cups of all-purpose flour and half a tablespoon of baking powder. The mixture should be stirred until it achieves a thick yet smooth consistency. Surprisingly, this recipe yields 45 to 50 fluffy bolinhos.

Flavor Variations

Part 3/7:

As mentioned earlier, the recipe can be adapted with various flavors. After preparing the base, it can be divided into three bowls. One bowl remains as the traditional version, while the second receives a tablespoon of cocoa powder for a chocolatey twist. The third can incorporate half a cup of mashed ripe banana, which can also be substituted with finely diced apples for a fruity alternative.

The Frying Process

Part 4/7:

Frying bolinhos de chuva requires a careful approach. Enough oil is heated in a pot, starting on high heat and then adjusted to medium once hot—ideally between 105 to 160 degrees Celsius. To ensure a delightful texture, the bolinhos should be dropped into the oil using two teaspoons, forming perfectly sized balls. A distinctive feature of frittering these bolinhos is that they turn and twirl on their own when cooked correctly, an entertaining sight for anyone watching.

Once the bolinhos are golden, they’re removed from the oil and drained on a paper towel. To finish them off, they are rolled in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon, which adds an extra layer of sweetness that complements their soft texture.

The Final Touch

Part 5/7:

After cooking, the moment of truth arrives. The traditional bolinho is revealing its soft and fluffy interior, while the chocolate and banana versions exhibit their unique textures and flavors. Each variation provides a different taste experience, yet they all resonate with the comforting nostalgia of grandmother’s kitchen.

A Timeless Tradition

Bolinho de chuva not only satisfies a sweet tooth but also binds families with its captivating aroma and inviting appearance. The mention of enjoying these treats on rainy days makes it even more special. A commentary on the etymology of its name suggests that “bolinho de chuva” could refer to the edible “droplets” formed during frying or that these snacks are made during rainy days spent indoors.

The Best "Bolinho de Chuva" Recipe You'll Ever Make

The delightful aroma of frying treats wafts through the air, drawing in anyone within its vicinity. Her mission is clear: to share a recipe that is not only straightforward but also requires minimal ingredients that one usually has readily available.

Ingredients: Simplicity at Its Best

To achieve the best bolinho de chuva, Ana stresses the importance of using every ingredient as outlined. Here are the key ingredients you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar

  • 4 tablespoons of milk powder

  • 1 teaspoon of vinegar

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

Part 3/7:

Each ingredient has a purpose, enhancing the overall flavor and texture of the treat. Particularly noteworthy are the vinegar and milk powder; vinegar curdles the milk slightly, creating a fluffy texture, while the milk powder adds richness without making the dough greasy.

The Method: Step-by-Step Instructions

Mixing the Ingredients

Ana starts by combining the vinegar with the milk and sets that aside. She whisked together the eggs and sugar until frothy, showcasing that a quality mixture relies on properly aerating the ingredients. The process encourages lightness in the final product, which sets the tone for a delightful treat.

Key Techniques for Perfect Bolinho de Chuva

Part 4/7:

  1. Batter Consistency: The batter should be thick yet scoopable. After mixing in the flour and ensuring there are no lumps, it is important to allow the batter to rest briefly. This resting time lets any gluten relax, contributing to a fluffier end product.

  2. Frying: The frying process is crucial. The oil must reach the ideal temperature of between 160°C and 170°C to ensure the bolinho cooks through without burning. Ana demonstrates dropping spoonfuls of batter into the oil, explaining how the bolinhos should bubble and rise as they fry.

  3. Rolling in Sugar and Milk Powder: Once golden brown and cooked through, the bolinho de chuva must be coated in a mixture of sugar, milk powder, and a hint of cinnamon. This final touch elevates their sweetness and adds a rich flavor.

Part 5/7:

The Final Result: A Crispy Delight

After a meticulous frying session, Ana unveils a plate of perfectly golden bolinhos de chuva. Each bite reveals a delicate yet fluffy interior, with a light crunch on the outside. The combination of sugar and milk powder envelopes the bolinhos, making them irresistibly appealing.

As she takes her first tantalizing bite, her genuine delight showcases not just satisfaction but passion for her craft. Each bolinho is more than just a treat; it's an embodiment of love and tradition.

Call to Engagement

Ana encourages viewers to leave comments sharing their thoughts on the recipe and how it turned out in their kitchens. Her enthusiasm for feedback creates a sense of community among her audience.

A Special Announcement

Part 6/7:

Towards the end of the video, Ana shares the exciting news of her new recipe book, which centers around afternoon tea delights. She provides a link in the description for those interested in expanding their culinary repertoire.

Conclusion: A Heartfelt Goodbye

As the video comes to a close, Ana expresses her gratitude for her audience's support and engagement. She invites everyone to join her in experiencing the joy of cooking and enjoying delicious treats. This journey of flavor and fun concludes with an invitation for viewers to raise a cup of coffee alongside their fresh bolinhos de chuva, making it a moment of shared indulgence.

Part 7/7:

The Joy of Making Bolinhos de Chuva: A Classic Recipe

Bolinhos de chuva, a delightful Brazilian treat, is a beloved snack that brings comfort and joy to many. In this article, we'll explore a simple and classic recipe that anyone can follow to create these fluffy, deep-fried pastries at home, along with some helpful tips to ensure your bolinhos turn out perfectly.

Ingredients: Gather Your Supplies

To prepare bolinhos de chuva, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar

  • ½ cup of milk

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional)

  • 1½ cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • For sprinkling: 2 tablespoons of sugar combined with a pinch of cinnamon powder.

Part 2/5:

These ingredients come together to form a delicious dough that can be customized to your liking, especially with the addition of vanilla for a richer flavor.

Preparing the Dough: Mix It Up

The process begins in a mixing bowl. Combine the egg, sugar, milk, and vanilla essence until well-blended. Using a whisk or even a fork will do the trick if you don’t have a whisk available.

Once mixed, gradually add the all-purpose flour to the bowl. Initially, you may notice some lumps as you stir; however, rest assured that as you continue to mix, the dough will become smoother.

Finally, add the baking powder to the mixture, ensuring everything is well-integrated.

The Essential Step: Frying the Bolinhos

Part 3/5:

Before frying, it’s crucial to understand the importance of oil temperature. A common problem when frying bolinhos de chuva is ending up with pastries that are either undercooked inside or greasy on the outside.

To prevent this, heat the oil in a pan on high for about 15 minutes. Once it's hot, reduce the heat to low before adding the bolinhos. This step is essential to ensure that they cook evenly: too hot, and they will brown quickly with a raw inside; too cold, and they will absorb excess oil.

Frying Technique: Gentle and Careful

Using a teaspoon, carefully drop small amounts of dough into the hot oil. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper cooking. As they fry, gently turn them using a wooden spoon for even browning.

Part 4/5:

When the bolinhos are golden brown on both sides, remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Final Touches: Sweeten the Deal

While the bolinhos are still warm, it’s time to sprinkle them with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. If you prefer them with just sugar, that works too! The sweetness enhances the flavor of the warm pastries, making them even more irresistible.

Enjoying Your Treat: A Perfect Pairing

These beautiful bolinhos de chuva are best enjoyed fresh, and many love to pair them with coffee. The soft texture and sweet taste make them a delightful afternoon snack, perfect for sharing or enjoying solo.

Conclusion: Share Your Creation!

Part 5/5:

Now that you've mastered the art of making bolinhos de chuva, why not share your results? Engage with the recipe creator by commenting on variations you make or simply expressing your love for this classic treat.

Don’t forget to follow their social media for more delicious recipes, and feel free to tag them if you recreate this dish at home. Happy cooking, and enjoy those delightful bolinhos de chuva!

Welcome back!

Ha! Hmmmm. I am going with threads! 🤣

@solymi will love that :D

threads is better

I am not sure. I love @peakd and blogging on HIVE :)

ok. Hive blogging IMHO just helps feed the hive whales that keep the chain from improving and the Peakd team is part of that.

But you do what you feel is best.

So okay and @inleo is also in HIVE :) what do you think it's best? for me @peakd is one of the best frontend on HIVE

Yeah InLeo is its own community.
It might read the Hive blockchain but I would never call it hive.
Peakd might be a good interface the team behind drains the DHF and provides noting with the funds they get.
Use it if you enjoy it but don’t be blind to the fact that doing that for the last 4 years has resulted in an ever shrinking hive user base.

Saw it on PeakD , never actually tried snaps. But I bet inleo wins it all

Why? :)

for starters I don't see a feed of other people's snaps unless I visit their individual page.
