We all have personality traits, oddities, habits or quirks that help make us the people we are. This week is confession week where you get to tell us about your own, or someone else's personality quirks. You can be honest or make one up for the sake of fun, I don't really care - Just get involved and have some fun.
The #weekend-engagement concept is simple; respond to the topic in the comments below then stay around and engage with others - On Monday 6th September I'll split 40 hive between a few who respond to the topic in the comments below. original im src

A couple of G-dog's quirks
Business shirt quirk: When I buy new business shirts I always remove one button (sleeve usually) and re-sew it on using purple thread. It's a superstition thing.
Hot food touching cold: I hate it when my meals arrive and the hot food touches the cold salads and stuff. Who likes warmed up salads right? This brings rise to issues with things like burgers or hot apple pie and ice cream...But I manage to work around it somehow.
I'm a vampire: I think this personality trait speaks for itself and little clarification is required. I can demonstrate of course, but I'm victim-selective. Any volunteers?
Not really a vampire...Or am I?
That's the topic folks; you have until Sunday night to get your response into the comments below and I hope you'll stay around and get friendly with some of the others who participate as it'll be good to see you around over the weekend. Have a great weekend whether you engage or not though - Life's too short not to.
Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised so be humble and kind

A habit of mine I am really loving lately is taking a more passive approach to few situations which don't mean a lot in the long run but do provoke strong negative reactions in the short run. Instead of reacting to it immediately, I simply gathered feedback from my environment, maintained my mental peace and watched it unfold.
Sometimes the best reaction is no reaction. I didn't realize how handy this would become for trivial situations.
Does it count if I have fang like teeth and have slight sensitivity to the sun (I do burn easily) and my hands are always cold (not sure why but every time I shake hands with people, they always comment about the temperature difference).
Ah I am glad to see the vampire clan existing here at hive
That sure comes in handy. I thought I was doing that. I saw myself as more calmed and indifferent to lots of issues, but apparently the real me keeps reacting equally impatiently, according to a certain person and her mom.
It's funny how the mind tricks us, or them...
This can be a very tricky situation. Sometimes either we have the wrong idea about our attitudes or other people simply perceive them differently. The only way I can clarify a situation like this is by simply reflecting back on exactly how I reacted and what I did. Then I simply brainstorm if there was a better way to handle things.
I am hoping the certain person and their mom come to a mutual understanding about you and hopefully it can avoid future possible cases of miscommunication.
This is a great habit to form and one many should add into their toolbox of habits!
I had this happen yesterday and did a post on it. If we let things things niggle at us it's our own fault...Best to put it in its place and move on.
Nice answer, thank you.
I think i need to go check out the lost you have made on this habit.
You should, if you have the time and volition.
Agreed - this is something lots of students of the Tao try to master fr decades. All very Zen like and wise. And sooooo helpful in maintaining a level of helpful calm.
Nothing wrong with being white and having issues with the sun, says my pale-ish self. 😆
😂
Put a hat on!
Lol...Yeah, I go white in winter...Well, more a slightly lighter version of the delectable mocha colour I usually am. Come summer though...Chocolatey.
Come on you guys. Go for it, the sun won't kill you.
Not so much. I am becoming well acquainted with my dermatologist. So far, I have two kinds of skin cancer on my arms. None of which is melanoma, so it's way more nuisance grade stuff.
But I'm REALLY not good with being up in the dark :)
Hah! I walked outside yesterday in some shorts, looked down, and thought I must not have been outside all summer for how pale I was. I miss the sun! I think I might need to call out a day or two next week with a Vitamin D deficiency.
I think you should work outside. Take that computer outside and enjoy the sun.
You're right, I really should. Maybe next week when it's no longer 5,000 degrees.
Oh! I just checked for you. 80 degrees all week. Ignore those incoming clouds.
I worked for an online company that probably should remain nameless. We had a couple of skype video calls a week and the three owners kept one streaming most of the time. I joined one time and the CEO said "I didn't know you had trees like that in Yuma."
Seems like I had forgotten to tell them that I was on a one month vacation :)
Lol...That's me on the left.
No Nine, the other left.
Who is now in between? May be someone who is short should be in that position
Knucklehead see knucklehead! 🤣
😂 Said in true knuckly fashion.
You know how it works! 🤣
I know he's a knucklehead. 🤣
😘
Hammer-shaped knucklehead. That's me.
I like that one. I need to practice it to see if I'm even capable of such a thing! Ha ha. Love it.
It took every fiber in my body to not react to them 🤣🤣. I definitely feel you here.
It means your body is bullet proof
Does that mean I am matrix ready?

This was one of my favorite scenes from the movie where he stops the bullets.
Wow that's great and I hope so since I assumed it to be that you are having a bulletproof.
It's a great skill to have!
You nail your comments Nine 🤣. I can now visualize it.
"Water off a duck's back" as they say!
Of course you are capable :) It just takes practice!
Capability is in the blood of a man who seems capable. So,, he is indeed capable
Definitely, I have faith that she can do it!
Let's hear fr her and see what she has to say
We can let her know we believe in her :)
I think you should be capable of doing that. It's a great habit.
You might need a mantra like "meh", or "whatever", or "ok" and let things slip away. 🤣
"Meh" is a mighty powerful mantra!! :)
It is. It was also my attitude during college. And I graduated as Magna Cum Laude from taking most things as a meh 🤣
Gets the drums ready and waits for the kisses to arrive to start playing... 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
😳😳😳😳
Oh, my stars...
It was a really cool song! 😘
We are all practicing something in our daily activities, but this one is great.
Passive and cold don't always have to be the same thing?
Anyway passive is on the edge of being cold. The passion sometimes dries up.
It is said somewhere that "the love of most will grow cold" due to the increase in vampirism.
If I understood that, I'm pretty sure I'd agree with it.
They are the good vampires!!!
Maybe my next spooky story should be about vampires!!!
@moon-city and @galenkp can help advise!!!
These are like Blade, but not that cool. They fight for humanity.
I like to think they do. But I'm not entirely sure.
Drowns in doubts
Hahahha you nailed it.
my city doesn't bite, at least not too hard
🤣🤣 Nine yes I will make an exception for you 😉
This new habit is something I have and yes people do bot like it as they claim I ignore too much but this helps with avoiding certain troubles
Hmmmm....avoiding certain troubles?
Yhup
I know right
I don't really get how it can be use to avoid some troubles.
Give em a cold firm handshake, warn them you steal warmth from people not the sun!
Hahahahha Joan that is a nice little warning to add! I was thinking of suing thumbs up or a fist bump but a cold firm handshake gets the message across
Cold hands, warm heart,
grab that hand and squuueeeze!
Attitude can be dealt a killer blow with a firm handshake 🙃
Wipe the smile right off the face 😉
Ha ha ha, I love your sense of humor, @joanstewart!
Many shocked reaction when offering a firm handshake, often tells a quiet story all on it's own....
With so many around it would be deafening...
It is healthy to maintain mental peace and it could allow you to cool down whenever something unforeseen happens. ♥️
You absolutely nailed it! That is exactly the end goal I attempt. 😊
Well said. I really need to add this to my repertoire. Sometimes, I overreact for things that won't matter in a couple of hours
Definitely something I know I have done as well as a lot of people! This week I became even more aware of this habit. Awareness is a good step forward
Wishing you a blessed weekend @bos
Yes you're right. Now that I've become aware the next step is to curb it
Thanks a lot. I wish you the same
lol do you also bite???
𝖍𝖊𝖍𝖊𝖍𝖍𝖊 𝖓𝖔𝖕𝖊 𝕴 𝖉𝖔𝖓'𝖙.
that must be a relief
Definitely!!! Vampires who bite are dangerous!
I only like the non-biters!
I've heard that they are a lot friendlier!!!
Ouch!!! People don't survive hunts like that!
Nine infected my city with her claws. She clawed us all and due to a mutation we turned into vampires except the non biting kind (so basically that serves no purpose at all) 😆
Fret not people, I really don't bite 😎
Why would she do that to 😂 Well st least you are immortal!!!
its called spreading the love 🤣
Having a habit that provoke negativity on the short run is the best you have gotten. I love this kind of habit
Thank you so much @cool08
I haven't mastered it but I hope to get better at doing it even more.
It will be great mastering it and making it a habit.
Doing nothing does not solve anything, but it saves effort on pointless things. And some problems seem to get rid of themselves.
Absolutely right here. A lot of the trivial things which have been provoking reactions don't necessarily involve me heavily or require a fix which is why I chose to consider it pointless and simply shift focus on things that do matter more.
Exactly! Some things do follow the whole easy come, easy go scenario.
This is poetic! A true test of using the power of a human brain to keep annoying stuff at bay! Why bother when you can keep your cool.
Totally agree!
Thank you for the kind words @bertrayo! Glad you stopped by and commented. This week has been like a little test for me to see if I can maintain some kind of calmness. I hope your weekend is off to a good start! 😊
Also now I am curious to hear about any habit of yours or a quirk which you feel comfortable sharing
Hey, good words coming from you and it also helps I truly believe in that philosophy. My quirks, habits and else are in a comment somewhere around all these. Have a nice time looking for them. 😋
Hey! Don't sell me out! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What's there to worry? 🤣
Hahahahhaha Nine has profiled you @bertrayo
Well all of those adjectives are quite pleasant sounding, I shall take this warning 🤣
90% of the crap that makes me crazy goes completely away in 24 hours. That leaves only 10% to tackle with a cool head and a certain resolve.
Yup, that's some true statistical facts being thrown into the mixture. We tend to worry or get annoyed by a lot of unimportant stuff. If we ignore that, we can get a lot solved.
Yep. It mostly takes care of itself, doesn't it?
I like keeping my thoughts on both sides of the knowledge tree. That's where I keep my balance. It's just a think of taste. Calculus and math related stuff are boring, but there's uses for it. What I wouldn't touch with a 6ft stick are pseudo-sciences.
Is there another way to watch stuff unfold?
I'm 70 years old. That's all I can do is watch in a detached manner.
I'm a river rat, too. You can keep your salty old oceans, give me a river any day.
Yes! In a similar vein, I like to say that I will only deal with one crisis at a time, as long as it's something that' worthy of being dealt with.
Good advice, but some times the sneaky bastages (crisis') get out of line and you have to swat one back.
Most go away before I can address them. Now, that bleeding child should have cried louder, in my opinion.
Ahahahahahaha.
My brother and I were talking on the phone yesterday (he was doing fetch and carry) as his youngest was tearing out a bathroom for re-do. We'd been at it a way long time when Randy said "I have to go, Cavan is bleeding." I told him to tell his son for me "Rub some dirt on it. Sweat on my time, bleed on your own."
Haha! Only a man can say that! A mother would be sent to jail for child neglect.
Actually, nowadays, they would just take that child. What a world we live in, Tom.
Cavan is 35 with his own kids. His wife might be glad if social services took him for a while (jk. He's grown into a wonderful man)
You artist types make me nervous. The entire Universe can be defined mathematically. I believe that once you have discovered a true life percentage it NEVER changes. Like 20% of the people you meet are dicks. 60% are just people, they can come or go. 20% are the ones you want to stay with.
Another number freak? What do you know?
I sort of keep track of things.
Absolutely correct! A lot of problems will get rid of themselves if we let them; too often, overreacting to them feeds them and gives them a life of their own.
And that tends to be the problem with all those pesky problems. Then, we could end up drowning in nothing.
So, you want to build your own harem? 😵
I'm just going to ignore the fact you didn't say "send yourself over here".
It is. That's why I don't do it either.
Yeah, 200$ bucks getting on my way.
I hardly dare ask if you like garlic on a pizza...
I envy you this learned trait. I try as hard as I possibly can to do exactly this. In most areas of life I can just about manage it as I am pretty deep thinking and pragmatic about most things and realise that taking a step back and assessing before acting is a fabulous way to move forward...
BUT... When I'm at work, I am a different man, easy to anger, a fuse that is lit easily and quick to speak my mind loudly. I am old enough to know much better but I think it comes from allowing myself to stay in a toxic environment I should have left long ago. I shall try and take a leaf from your book next week and see where it takes me.
I prescribe sunscreen for the skin and a 'thumbs up' instead of a handshake in professional situations... You may start a new trend 😁
Hahahahahah I do love garlic on pizza 😂.
Work is one area where I do find myself being a bit more impatient and I think it is due to the pressure of getting things done. I hate slacking and having my time wasted and that can cut out the easy going person within me. I am using strategies here and there to manage this a bit. I hope your experiment next week works out well for you!
All in with SPF 60 🤣🤣. A thumbs up or even a fist bump would be perfectly alright with me. Here's to hoping it does become a trend
I read something about that reaction, no reaction thing somewhere once about there's an equal and opposite one or something like that.
ooʇ ʇɐɥʇ ǝʞıl ɓuıɥʇǝɯos pɐǝɹ I ʎuunɟ
I didn't know they released that one. I been meaning to get a haircut, what do you think? Kinda makes my neck stiff.
let it grow out and use it as your body blanket. I will be waiting for this transformation
And you're aware of my dance moves, too. Who.are.you?
Just like Neil Young, I almost cut my hair today. I've about got myself convinced that I'm going back to being shaved clean. Think of all the money I'll save on shampoo.
An object in motion tends to stay in motion, an object at rest tends to stay at rest.
I'm living breathing proof of the last half of that.
I just woke up, what were you saying?
Oh yeah, motion!
One of the best things I've learned in my life was that it's ok to step back from any situation or thing. It was sooooo hard to learn but the difference is night and day. Great habit. That's not anywhere near a quirk.
This is something that takes quite some mental patience to get used to. Timing as well as being rational enough in the moment to decide how to tackle the thing have paid off nicely! I am still not perfect at it. There is always a learning curve.
Hehehehe I was responding to the Share one of your good or bad habits and explain question which galenkp asked in the original post. 😊
Agreed, @bigtom13! Definitely a skill to master.
Yes! In the case of people, there are some people that just want to cause a reaction. My attitude toward them, regardless of how they might irritate me, is "don't feed the trolls." Ultimately they'll go away.
There are times it's a process, or a thing, that causes me grief (such as a computer glitching). In these cases I remind myself that I will not let an inanimate object get the better of me.
Ahh computer issues, I have had trouble here and there navigating a software but I realized that it just takes getting used too as well as practice and heaps of patience.
You summed it up very nicely. This is what I remind myself. Trolling has come along a far way now. We shall keep our shields up
Yes I think it has to do more with understanding yourself, that’s not giving any situation power to control your emotions. I see myself not reacting in a situation where normally I would flip, I’m so proud of growth and wish more people will adopt this.
I am very happy that you have reached this point! It is one of those things which I have to continuously remind myself of.
Thank you for stopping by Perry 🥰
Hahahahah mental notes only
oh no, you found it out 🤫🧛♂️
ah the duality of geminis
Okay let's see... I love binging on TV series. Hardly watch TV but if I do start, I'd rather wait for all the episodes of a series to come out (at least for a season) so I can spend 9-10 hours of my life watching uninterrupted😋
Guess the suspense of waiting is something that doesn't go well with me
Binge watching sounds better than spending too much time waiting, when you have time be sure to watch The Kominsky Method ticked all the boxes for me in comedy-drama.
Actually I only learned about the show here in Hive, it was terrific 😃
A good laugh is the best medicine....
Are you me?
I do this too...I can't abide that one episode per week thing. The 9-10 hour thing? Yeah, I get it.
I'm not sure if I define this as a quirk, trait or habit...Let's just call it legit and be done with it.
Don't all sane people do this? Suddenly feels a strange itch to rewatch Downton Abbey Season 1 tomorrow. 😊
Lol...Yep, all sane and legit people.
Downtown Abbey - Legit.
I'll be sure to check it out... Currently reading the reviews
I prefer the review to the watching to movie and ome thing is that, after going through the reviews of any movie, it will be difficult for you to watch the movie.
Don't tell anyone, but I just finished the final season of Poldark. I can't believe I said that on an immutable block chain.
Absolutely, @empress-eremmy and @galenkp. Why watch a show on TV when you can launch a whole series, and watch it on your own schedule?
So funny.
It seems this is a common legitness 😁
It is truly common, as you hive rightly said.
This is just the part I don't like in films, suspense
This works really well, too, until one decides to binge on a movie series like... say.. Lord of the Rings, or even the only Star Wars that are worth mentioning. Or the Harry Potter movies! It takes forever!
So true, @wwwiebe! I’ve been meaning to watch the Harry Potter movies, in order, from beginning to end. So daunting!
😂 The suspense is killing...imagine waiting a whole week to see the outcome of something you've been looking forward to. No siree!
Exactly...How dare they! Best to binge. (Could be a good bumper sticker.)
You are speaking the truth
💯 Legit
This always happens when you are watching Indian movies most especially the zeeeorld. This is why I hate watching their movies.
Quartibit - noun. 1. Individual or individuals who watch series television in minimum 9, maximum 10 episodes.
There's a word for it? ✅
It's 132 steps to the trash dumpster and back unless you go through the parking lot—140 +/- depending on weather.
Hehehe... @dandays is a dictionary
Hey wassup @cool08? I've been working on my revelations too:
OK then. Here comes Tom with another absolutely true story. The cheese slid off the cracker for one of my best friend's wife. It was a long, long, long fucking grind until now she is safely ensconced in the bug house.
A few years ago some quack therapist suggested she color. She did, and every time I'd go there I'd have to look at her most current coloring.
For the record, it didn't do anything to re stack the cheese or even retard the slippage..
The only movie I have watched successfully without removing my eyes is 24.
A movie called 24? Are you talking about the series? I've never seen it but I know quite a few who enjoyed it.
Wow. Birds of same feathers. You are just alike gluing yourself to a particular series until it gets finished.
Yes, no point leaving for tomorrow what can be done today.
You are right. This is one of the reasons why I don't like watching movies.
I think occasional binge-watching should be fine and accepted. Maybe not if you watch series every day 9 hours a day haha, but if you love a show why not
I agree, binge-watching things could be an issue for one who hasn't the discipline to know when to, and when not, to do so.
I like presence, one hundred percent presence, in all things I undertake and, of course, ownership, discipline and responsibility play a hand as well. I think there's a place for everything in life and so I design and create my life the way I'd like it to be and look.
Sometimes that means binge-watching a TV show. 😊
It's all about balance I think.
The life-pendulum swings both ways and past centre each time...So best to experience all things and design and create ones ideal life in the image one wishes it. 😉
Never bothered me... Must be because I don't watch that much TV to even begin with. When I do decide to start a series, it's usually one I feel is special (am talking game of thrones special)
Even with the speciality, I still fall asleep, except in some exceptional cases.
Heheheh... I have seen my partner.
Binge watching is great. I think almost everyone enjoys this these days. We're quite spoilt now days (giving my age away here) - you never used to have a choice but to wait a week for the next episode of something to come out on TV.
Yes!!! I hated that especially before having a VCR!
This has just brought back memories of my father trying to video tape a show and being really irritatingly pedantic about not recording the ads and having to rewind the tape to the exact moment to record over the start of the ad he just recorded. It drove me insane!
lol!!! That had to be fun! Did you ever get to see the show?
#stillworthit :)
Between you and me : YES it is :)
And excessive fights for the bathroom between episodes!
I see that we share the same strategy. If I am really really looking forward to a show, I distract myself with another to wait for the majority or the whole season to come out.
Sometimes I just forget about it all together if it isn't fully out. Can't be waiting for weeks on end for just one TV show. If I do remember, say a year or two later, I go right back to it like it came out yesterday
Forgetting is like a gift in this case. It will curb the hunger to watch it and by the time you remember about it, boom the whole season is out just waiting for you to watch it 🤣!
Waiting for all to land before watching is the best.
😂 good point
It's better I forget about is other than watching it half way. It's of no use watching it without getting to the end.
This is one of the reasons why I don't like watching movies with lots of seasons. To get the other part will be problem.
I definitely feel you here! Sometimes I just lack the patience to start shows that have several seasons unless it really catches my interest.
I also like to wait for the reviews from friends and family before I waste my precious time.
Speaking of: Yellowstone. 3 years out and it's just good. Really good.
Heard about it but never watched. Let's see if the trailer can convince me to start another round of binge TV
Watch the first season trailer! Pretty impressive.
There's a lot of truth in it that people don't realize about farms and ranches. I'm thinking really large ones make the problems worse. The rest is just about interpersonal relationships which are always good.
This is soo me. Like, one episode a week is just not possible
I mean who does that?!!!
Like???That's a whole other level of self control
Binge watching is the way to go!
Oh, my... It reminds me of people going crazy about Game of Thrones when it was aired. I told every one that I wanted the complete series if I were to watch it. It ended and everybody told me not to lose my time watching. People and their fuss for vogue. I do like a good binge. It my favorite thing to do for procrastination!
I did something similar with GOT. Always waited for the end of every season before I started watching. Best way to enjoy it if you ask me
It is for sure. However, I haven't even started watching the thing. At this rate, I think I'll never start. 🤣
Now, in this regard I am a weirdo!
I tell my kids constantly: When I was a lad, you had to wait an entire week for the next part of a show. The waiting felt almost unendurable at times but it was worthwhile (usually... sometimes it was an utter bloody anticlimax).
I do think we have lost something loosely related to patience in the modern age, there's something about instant gratification that doesn't sit too well with me.
Although this from a guy who watched the entire first series of Dexter this week... I'm a hypocrite and a fraud!!! 🤣
I like to watch one or two episodes per day until the end when 3 or 4 seems like a better idea.
!PIZZA
@bigtom13! I sent you a slice of $PIZZA on behalf of @stevenwood.
Did you know you can earn $PIZZA through Hive-Engine Diesel Pools? (1/10)
I used to do that. I am also very impatient when it comes to series I like. Unfortunately, I can't afford more than 3 hours of movies or series. However I try to finish them as soon as I can.
Wow... To me I don't love watching TV. You have truly gotten this as a habit which I can truly give you kudos to. You are just like my wife who always glued herself to watching films.
Oh I totally agree with this! One episode a week is just not enough. I want to be fully immersed in it and watch it a lot and then be done haha.
Maybe it is related to a character trait haha because I am also really impatient haha
I like to do the same with "limited series" comics (those titles that will only run for something like 4 issues); I'll buy them, but wait for all of them to be printed before reading them so I can read them all in one sitting.
If I could find one that captures my interest and has a limited number of episodes, I reckon it'll be better than having to watch 13-21 episodes of a show when I could derive the same satisfaction and save time
This happens a few times but most times I just shrug it off.
Yesyesyes me too!
Maybe something more in the middle would be the optimum way to handle this, work harder when working, rest better when chilling perhaps? Or maybe we should just accept the old adage that we are all different and celebrate that wonderful fact. 😎
Greetings, everyone.
It's been a long time since I last interacted here, but I just saw @manujune drafting some embarrassing revelations about me, so I think it's only fair that I move a step ahead and provide you with my side of the story, just in case.
As you have noticed, she has not been posting very often lately. She will say that that's because she has been busy doing a thousand things. The truth is she is a bathroom snail.
She says she takes "a bit longer" than us just because she is working with her muses ideas for her next posts. The fact is that by the time she comes out, the previous post has already closed.
Ironically, she also likes salt, unlike most snails, who can be killed by it. We discovered she had been sneaking salt in her drawers. That was the real reason she did not allow us to get in her room.
I know what you're thinking: "Are you sure that's salt?" (She is an artist after all).
We tasted it. I think I was hoping it was something else. We can use some of that to forget about how crappy this is gonna get with the upcoming elections.
Anyway, she is a great kid; she is just forcing us to build another bathroom and eat without salt.
You guys have a great weekend
Haha!
Awesome comment and possibly the beginning of a healthy father-daughter rivalry?
I love how you noticed her sneaky plan and gathered for a preemptive strike and simple unloaded! Nice work.
Hennry: One
June: none
Hahaha.
She must be loading her batteries now. She and her mom are having their hair done for a singing contest Gala tonight. I'm sure they are making things up about me as we speak. Hair irons have not been good for women's heads, but what do I know? I'm just an English teacher and they say they are getting their hairs done for free, so they would not declined.
One thing they might be adding to their list of fabrications is that I am against long hair just because I am tight and don't like to spend money on the thousand hair products long hair requires. There might be some truth to it, but the fact is that we will probably have to have all our plumbing redone because of their long hair. Also they have become ... enamored (the other word is too strong) with pain killers to deal with their constant headaches, which I argue have been caused by their long hair. But, again, what do I know?
I earlier told dandays that I came real close to shaving my head this morning. I wore it that way for 12 years, but I've had hair sticking out for 5 or 6 now. No hair care products!
That feels great. I wore a crew cut for a while many years ago, but I gave up to social pressure and let it grow a bit more. I am all for practicality, but our society imposes all kinds of impractical practices that just consume our time and resources .
Good to see you Tom. Just recently we talked about you; about the fact that we had not run into any of your "crazy" adventure posts.
Ah yes, the trials of living with two headstrong women!
Good luck with that plumbing...You'll probably need it with all that hair.
A line said by many a man in respect of women. 😂
Haha. That plumbing work will have to be done sooner than I thought. It's been raining these days and the house, like most in this area, gets inundated. The pipes are obstructed.
Nasty business I'd rather not do, but I can't outrun these powerful long-haired women, so...
Happy Saturday
Those girls mate...They cause so many problems...But you'd not trade them in for anything I'd say!
June got you good in her comments Hennry, but I tried to stick up for you. 😉
Haha. Thanks, I appreciated.
She threw quite a few low punches. And now she comes to invite me to see her sing at church tomorrow, as if she has never broken a dish.
She does it on purpose. She knows I had sworn never to enter a religious temple again. Imagine how much I love her that I will risk burning at the threshold of Santa Inés church.
Oh my, you do have your hands full, @hlezama!
Well, I will say one thing for long hair. It generally has to be cut less often. I have short hair and it needs trimming about every six weeks. Fortunately I am my own hair stylist, so I save a lot of money there. Unfortunately I need about a dozen hair products to get it organized the way I want!
Hi. @jayna
Good to see you.
You cut your own hair! That's cool.
Now, even with the short hair you still use tons of stuff? And I thought that short hair was the solution to most global issues! 🙏😂
Long hair has been the demise of many, many pipes. I live in an older house (I'd call it "rustic", but it was really just made in the 50's when builders were putting together as many things as quickly and poorly as possible) that has poor plumbing. Every time one of my boys gets a haircut and showers the remaining hairs down the tub I need to take action Quickly, else it becomes a major affair.
One day I'll share the story of how I literally blew the pipe off the tub, but I won't hijack your story to do that. 😃
Haha. That sounds like a great story.
Here (this town being over 500 years old and us living in the remnants of the historic district), most houses were built by idiots who must have left the country immediately after they built them (so that they would not have to do the repairs or maintenance themselves).
They had this colonial concept of super tall walls, massive wood frame for a fragile asbestos roof, open halls that are extremely annoying when it rains, and the whole sewage system of houses and the entire town was made as if they were putting a trap for whoever was going to occupy the premises after they were gone.
All these houses are terribly impractical, especially in an area that is slightly over sea level. Hairs and fat from kitchen oil do a lot of harm to pipes here.
Lol good Luck adjusting to the taste. I probably cannot survive without a little salt in my cooking
Hahaha.
Thanks. Yeah, there must be few things worse than eating insipid food. Of course, not eating at all must be first in the list of worse things, but I know people who would rather starve
Hahahahahaha!!!!!
I agree!
But start after tomorrow.
TOMORROW, eat a TON of salt
So that the next day, and every day after you can eat slightly less and STILL be following her directive!
This is a win win win win.
It doesn't work unless there are four wins according to the Dreemie code.
Now this advice has also been imbued with the power of the gold star, given to me righteously by @galenkp
BEHOLD!!!!!!
Haha. Thanks. Too salty is not good either, so, we'll try to find a balance. I'll keep checking drawers for a while, just in case.
hehehehe yes - i was just teasing :)
of course eat in a way that's healthy!!!!
(shhhh I said that for the public. but between you and me - CHECK THOSE DRAWERS!!!)
🤣
#FanFuckingTastic!
I'm not streeeettching the truth which I'm really good at doing by the way when I say that's one of the most entertaining comments I've seen since the last time I saw one.
You're gonna need to come back every weekend now, thank you.
Lol. Thank you very much.
I used to interact more often in the #WeekendEngagement posts, but It's been hard for me to catch up with so much great interaction and our daily issues.
It's always great to be here. I'll do my best to stop by more often in the future.
He's a used to be really regular. Seriously good to see him back.
Ahahahahahaha. Good to see you again my friend.
My best ex and I thought we'd made the perfect solution when we got a place with 3 bathrooms. It didn't do me any good at all, her and her two daughters were in there all the time.
And they all seemed to dry their nylons in what was rumored to be my bathroom so that I was accosted every time I went to pee.
One question. Why did @manujune put salt in her underwear? I'm pretty sure that would make me uncomfortable.
Hahaha!
No underwear involved in that salt trafficking.
She sneaked a small cup with salt and hid it in her drawings. We discovered she had this compulsion to eat salt (and I thought that eating dirt was nasty enough).
I am guessing you eventually freed yourself from the no-bathroom oppresion.
My ancestors were so happy. They had the whole mountain for themselves. They never had to argue about not finding a free tree or riverbank. They did not have to deal with clogged pipes either.
I'm a believer in your body telling you what you need. Maybe hers is asking for more sodium? Or maybe iodine?
Ahahahaha. All I had to do was go in and finish up before anyone else was up. It was a rental place in the city so I didn't even have a tree in the back yard to use. I believe I have peed outdoors more times than indoors in my life, but I'm old and have to pee often and that might not be the case any more.
I was running a tractor on the farm when I was younger when the urge came upon me. I was plowing and in a place nobody could ever see me so I stopped and squatted behind the plow. A friend of mine in a spray plane was flying home cross country and knew it was probably me (my farm) so cut his throttle and flew in quietly until he was right on top of me then hit the throttle and smoke. I'd have jumped 10 feet if I'd have been able to. As it was I finished up pretty quick. He came back around and wagged his wings as I fingered him.
I talked to him a couple years ago and he still remembered. Damn.
Hahaha! Awesome! Almost a shame it was just salt; you could have perhaps suddenly become very rich!
Haha! Or a 🎯 for local gangs. One never knows here. Blessings turn into curses and vise versa.
Ha.... Eating without salt? That's not possible. Although, I have seen an old man who does not take Maggie. He is clocking 120+ but still argyle.
Oh god this is going to make me sound even more weird .... here goes.
When I go on holiday, I get a bit stressy with packing and making sure everything is turned off in my little flat. Before I leave, I have to go from room to room checking everything. I take this to the limit by taking photos of plug sockets. I can then look back on them to remind myself that all is good, and I've taken all the plugs out. I even take photos of taps (faucets) to make sure I've not left the water running.
If anyone gets to look through my phone, I can't imagine what they think when they see photos of plug sockets and taps .....
Oh my oh my!
Lol...Actually not that bad of an idea to be honest. I live in Australia and that feeling of did I turn the iron off when mid-flight to Europe isn't a good one. A simple scan through the phone photos allays that concern. Good idea I'd say.
When I leave for a holiday I turn the power off at the breaker board for everything except the alarm. Solves the electricity issue, the tops...Hmm, never thought about that aspect.
Yes, it's a good idea about the breaker board but that would be too easy lol.
Lol...Why do something the easy way when there's a way more difficult and time consuming way to do the same thing. I get it. 😆
Turning off the breaker board is the best as this will turn every parts off as well
I always go for the hardest route. 😀
That's truly a good idea he has with him. This habit can make someone not to forget turning things off in the house.
Brilliant idea I usually have this feeling all the time, but there's no way to be sure.
Here's me thinking I was being silly. Perhaps it is a good idea after all!
Trust me, it is
The idea of yours is what many people will adopt.
It's a good and great idea he has here.
Yes. From now on anytime such thoughts come I have a secret weapon
I would love to know your secret weapon.
His idea is my secret weapon. Anytime I think I left the water running, Just one look at the photographs and my mind is at rest
That's great idea. I think I have to follow this one too.
That could be a very good habit. Then if anything goes wrong you have proof of the condition of the place.
I've realised I'm not so weird after all!
Only if weird = smart :)
You are a genius for this idea and habit of yours.
Since you have switched off the whole switch in the house, you should be able to be at peace.
Damn! This is like my mom asking if she pressed the lock button for the car. It drives me crazy to think about this because I'm never paying attention. Now I have an idea. I'll take a picture of it show it when she asks.
And well, this sounds like a good safety measure. One never knows! Anxiety attacks out of the blue and one must be ready to deal with it.
Lol. Problem solved!
Just like that! 🤣
Indeed solved for sure.
That's a good idea to erase the fact and knowledge of forgetfulness. A guy left his pointer on unknowingly yesterday. So, this is just an oversight just b cause he was in a hurry
For sure. That's the thing about forgetting some stuff. After you remember it, it's like a rush to get it done. 🤣
Damn- that's a serious WINNING peace-of-mind strategy!! LOL. I love it. Ingenious and yup - a little quirky!! 😊 When I finally get myself headed to the beach in Vietnam, I'm gonna be doing this too.
Top tip!
I think this would make a great #travel post.
I'm flabbergasted that everyone thinks it's a good idea. I honestly thought I was just being weirdly paranoid. 😄
Oh wow! That is a bloody magnificent idea!
I am not particularly neurotic in any other way but when I know we will be away overnight or on holiday, I literally do a dozen circuits of the house before I jump in the car with the rest of my bored, impatient, long-suffering family. We are taking my daughter away this weekend to move into her drama school accommodation...
I honestly might try this... Just one circuit, they will be shocked, surprised, and suspicious of what happened to my 'checking habit'.
Nah! Accept it, embrace it, and bloody celebrate your quirky uniqueness, these little things are what make us... well... us, I guess. If anybody asks about the photos on your phone, tell them you like to remind yourself of reasons to remain in a permanent state of gratitude for all the modern conveniences we have like electricity and indoor plumbing! 😁
Ha ha! Good idea. It is true though, I am grateful for all of these things.
And which circuit do you think can turn off all the apparatus in your house.?
Haha. That's not a bad habit, actually. I know some people who can benefit greatly from it. I'll make sure they read your confesión.
We are so careless that last time we left home for a couple of days we found some "vandalism" in the room when we came back. We thought we had been robbed but then we saw one of our cats leave angrily. She had been locked in the room and had probably been working on lots of crazy attempts to get out.
Oh no. I bet she was proper mad!
Really, that's not OCD in the least. Just good solid proof for your peace of mind.
I'm glad you see it that way. 😁
That's a habit which you have. It's great taking photograph of those items in your house to make you remember if you have some left to turn off.
Hahaha I love this, instead of stressing about it take pictures to prove it. To be fair I have the occasional: did I close the window?!! stress when I go travel but then I realize there is nothing I can do about it anyway so might as well not stress about it..
I did come home from a trip once to realize I had left the heater on for like a week... ooops
Oh my goodness. You definitely need to take photos! 🙂
That is not weird; that is terrific! That's a fantastic idea, and one that I might start using too, if you don't mind me stealing it. It sure beats setting up live streaming cameras around the house!
Go ahead. I'm a little disappointed that I'm not as weird as I first thought. 😁
Thank you. Just thought I was being paranoid.
You can't be paranoid after having the kind of good idea
It means after turning off the appliances, your mind will be at peace.
Funny topic and quirks this week!
Let’s see for me, for some reason I hate the feeling of the skin of peaches. They give me the goosebumps! Even thinking about it right now I’m getting them lol. I don’t know why it’s like that but I can’t remember a time where it hasn’t been.
An odd thing that I love to do, that Siena was horrified the first time she saw it when we were out for breakfast, is dunk my buttered toast or bagel into a nice cup of orange juice! I don’t know what it is about doing that but I think it tastes great. The butter, bread and juice combination makes something miraculous. I’ve been in breakfast places doing it and I’ve had people stare at me like “wtf?” Hahaha.
Now there are a couple of fine quirks that I can get with. I like mixing certain foods, I'm liable to give that combo a try...
How well are you in fixing them?
I'm with you on the peach skin brah! 🤮
You lost me at bagel-juice-dunking.
We're all bloody weird though and so it's all good! Let's embrace our weirdness!
#embraceourweird
Am I understanding this correctly, you're terrified of peaches? Peaches? The seeded fruit that grows on a tree, orangey/yellow things, those?
Not terrified, I hate the skin! Peel the skin off and I’ll demolish that peach!
I hate mayonnaise dude. Can't even have it in the house, can hardly venture down the condiments aisle. Non idea why that is.
Damn, might be my peach skin for you! I love Mayo lol. Just had some last night, chipotle style!
You are missing for hating it. It taste great and good.
I can't even handle the smell. Creamy egg white oily processed whatever the hell it is. Eewwwwww.
I can't really get it ass well, but may be that's what he Meant
It took me a bit to think of mine although I have reflected on a few my biggest habit is that I don't start my day without a coffee. It's pretty far engrained that even my kids know this.
My four year old has come to the skillset of when she wakes up, she makes me a coffee (coffee pod machine) then walks into the room and says "Dad Coffee is ready" doesn't mention anything about waking up, she just knows I hate cold coffee and it works every time... but now that I've reflected on it perhaps it won't.
I share the same frustration as you in regards to the food! How bad has lockdown been for this. I order a steak that comes with chips and salad. Now it is perfectly fine for the steak to go ontop of the chips and then either red wine jus or mushroom sauce ontop. But what the Frick is with putting salad into the same container. Worse yet is has salad dressing. I now have a meal that can not be eaten because hot and cold has touched but also salad dressing.... wtf.
I've thrown food out because of this.
I'm not a vampire however, I'm Batman. Seriously though have you ever seen me and Batman in the same room together? Exactly.
I don't turn back into a Day Walker (from a vampire) until I've had coffee so I get it. Good work on getting the little tacker making the the good stuff. ✅
So Batman doesn't like hot food touching cold food like Count G-dogacula! (Count Arugula if @andrastia has her way)
It's not legit.
#separatehotandcold
It was definitely a great investment, so was the coffee machine 🤣 I've had her on the tolls lately. Teacher her how to build things. I'll get that decking I've always wanted soon enough lol
Pretty soon you'll be doing nothing but relaxing...And cooking BBQ's as that job a man should never delegate.
Haha that is spot on, I quite enjoy grilling some dead animals beer in hand of course
Searing dead meat on fire is a legit activity.
Hahahahaha... Yes.. soon ypu will be free from doing things.
Ohhh. I have to argue with this. Coffee first thing isn't a quirk or habit, it's completely a medical necessity. I always have a cup in the microwave and the next pot laid when I get up. I'm 90 seconds away from hot coffee and only one cup away from good coffee.
I never thought of training a 4 year old as coffee slave. Sounds like a great idea to me. I keep trying to train my dog but he keeps giving me the 'no thumbs' excuse. Slacker.
It was a great idea! Nothing like waking up to a fresh cup of coffee 🤣🤣🤣
Is there old fresh tea or the that is not freshly made?
I make tea by the gallon (3.8l) so it's almost never freshly made.
It means you love tea and take tea every moment?
And served by a cute 4 year old? She could hand it to you and say "Eat shit and die" and it would still be pretty good!
This one I think is not the best. 4year old boy to handle tea? How and why should that be possible?
Right? And they're supposed to be "man's best friend."
Exactly. What kind of friend are you that NEVER brings me a cup of coffee?
I keep telling him that it's in his best interest to keep me alive. Otherwise there would be no one to get the doggy treats down off the refrigerator. So far it's working.
It ia for those who love taking coffee. Good one should be the best instead.
Aw man, I wish my kids would make me coffee. The only day of the year they make me coffee is Christmas Day, and it is because they're aware that I will not get out of bed until coffee is ready.
Hahaha! See now you just need to expand that to include everyday!
It's great having your kids making you coffee during Christmas period. But, apart from this period, don't they make you coffee?
I think you are right, but not everyone love this coffee of a thing. To me I don't really like it for sure. Does it gives you strength to work?
You are right, taking coffee when hot is the best. I don't take coffee but cold coffee is not the best

One bad habit of mine that I definitely want to work on is that often enough I just say what I feel or think, without thinking how this will come across to the other person. Of course honesty is important, but I sometimes forget to look at things from different perspectives before I respond.
One good habit I have is making new friends quickly. As an extrovert, I find that super-fun. That way I always have friends to go out with. 😅
We are all entitled to our thoughts and opinions however I think a wise person treads lightly with it, certainly thinks first, will this hurt or upset the person if I say it. Also, we must be mindful that our actions and what we say will be used by others to form opinions so it could be wise to use a filter. Right time, right place sort of ethos.
I think you agree with me and are working towards it. What's great us that you recognise any area to improve in yourself and actively do it.
The other? The making friends thing, shows you are headed in the right direction.
😊
@galenkp yes I totally agree with you. It's not something I'm proud of, but I am working on it. 💙
Be proud of the fact that you're working on it; that's something to feel great pride in yourself over.
Yesss..thank you😅
That's the most Paramount
People may get upset with some kinds of words but the best is for him to find a way to remove such thoughts from him.
Making new friends very quickly is the best habit you have gotten, but having saying words any how can put you into troubles. You might be having some enemies by now. Just try to correct yourself and this habit.
A bit late, but better late than never. I don't know if anyone has the same but I found out I am a lot more weird than I thought after starting to live together with my partner. You kind of think the things you do are normal until somebody else sees you all the time and tells you that... well you're weird.....
SO I am just going to come clean here: I am really weird about brushing teeth. I guess I always have been. As I kid I found toothpaste weird and disgusting and I developed some weird toothbrushing habits, some I have broken and some remain with me. Until I was 15 I swallowed my toothpaste haha because I found it disguising, but since multiple people told me that wasn't healthy I have stopped doing it but some things remain:
Haha I must sound like a crazy person now and my partner thinks so too. I also have no idea where this came from as no one I know has these issues haha. But they started when I was young and any violation of these rules makes me gag, which is why my partner now brushes his teeth when I am not watching haha because he is sloppy!
Anyway, this was my confession!
To be sincere with you, I have these same habit. When the brush is wet, I will have the belief that someone has used it,
Awesome to meet someone who has this too! This has honestly never happened to me
This is brilliant! Absolutely nothing wrong with keeping your teeth and mouth pristine and tidy in any way that is comfortable to you. Love it!
Thanks a lot! I just thought I was a bit crazy haha, but nice to hear not everyone finds it really weird!
I agree with you 100%, you're a full-blown wack-job! Am I supposed to believe you didn't realize how weird you are about brushing your grill until you lived with someone else? =}
I sure am glad you stopped by The Weekend. That's the weirdest things I've read all day.
Hahaha you're welcome, happy that I could make you read something weird haha. I am also an only child though so I think many weird things go unnoticed that way
Haha! That's no excuse. I'm an only child as well, that doesn't count.
It seems we are same. I'm alone and the only child of my mum
Good to hear this one isn't happening anymore.
Not so strange...Little bit strange.
Nothing wrong with being neat.
This made me laugh out loud.
I laughed louder still.
Only first class for your toothbrush!
This is a legit-good confession @plint - Thank you for sharing and getting involved for another week. It's always great to have you around!
All what he has placed are legit. Some of which I'm fully involved with
Hey looks like I'm late to the party...
But then again the cool people arrive an hour late 😂...
I noticed some of my quirks recently..

There is this well-known superstition "Knock on wood"
I've kind of made my own version of it. But I've made it like a counter measure to any bad thoughts. So I could be driving on the road and somehow one of my a-hole braincels pops up and formulates the thought: 'What if my tire burst and I hit that electricity pole???'
I know right, stupid braincel! But then as a counter I immediately tap something 3 times, I doesn't have to be wood, it could be my steering wheel, it could be my other hand, I don't care, I'm tapping 3 times...
It's become this weird counter measure to all the random bad thoughts I have 😂...
P.s. No wood or knuckles were hurt in the making of this post.
I guess you've watched Fast and furious too much 🤣🤣
I often have such thoughts too,but I've don't really have a way of clearing my head when it happens. I'll try this method. thanks for sharing
You're never late man, just perfectly on your own time.
Three-knock-countermeasures is a legit thing. They have it it fighter jets and most military aircraft to be honest.
Enemy gets missile lock.
Pilot knocks three times.
Counter-measures deployed.
Threat mitigated.
I hope you took a patent on on your three-knock-countermeasure idea. #gonnaberich
Ha, ha, ha. "One, two, three, shut up stupid thought!" It sounds like a good thing to do. I do something similar with weird thoughts. But I tap on me head three times with one finger. It helps keep the ol' walnut in check.
I like this quirk too - sort of takes tapping theory but in a minimalist, immediate and very personal way. It's the sort of thing some psychology major will do a Master's Thesis on one day. 😆
We have a lot of that here. I've never done it,but now that I read you it occurs to me that maybe I can adapt the superstitious move to some sort of positive reinforcement mechanism ever time I feel like cursing.
Stay positive!
I love how everybody has those stupid braincells that give you completely useless thoughts. I also have it when I wait for the train. I often think: how much would it hurt if I fell in front of the train? Or when you drive like you: wonder what would happen if the person in front of me just decided to hit the brakes full? The brain is a silly place....
You know, I never realised it, but I do the same. If I can't knock on wood I'll actually tap my head in lieu of wood (it's not very different). Thanks for the reminder!
Brain hopping, hopping brain syndrome, always adding something to a bucket list. Down rabbit holes finding out more...
Yup, good/bad and everything in between....
Bucket-list-adding is a good habit I think...Having more to do than one could ever actually do is a good way to ensure one never gets bored.
Always fun to plan a, b, c... or something, keeps one going...
Did you ever give up on a cool idea?
I've given up on a few cool ideas, not for lack of interest, more physical restraints that come from being less-young. Nothing earth-shatteringly important. Just wish-list stuff. And you?
Finding the nerve to just go... age is not for sissies... those stiff joints and crackling bones all part of it! Just keep dreaming, eventually is will come to fruition.
All we can do is keep not forward; time dictates that.
Time is a luxury the older one gets... Guard it!
Oh, are there plenty of things scratched from the list already?
Yup, quite a few, but many now I want to re-explore, going nowhere slowly!
That's a good thing to do! Hope you can triple scratch good things in the list.
Escape to the country, become a hermit could be an option to jot down too....
Ha, ha, ha, ha. That's a Cincinnati's kind of dream.
Still on the bucket list of wishes and dreams....
Ah, yes, you were down this rabbit hole last time I was here. Plenty of room for us both, lemme know what turns up on your end.
Aha that rabbit hole is pretty comfy down there, got a lounger and a chair... you can have the chair. What's down there, peace and quiet! Oh a carrot or two that is planted above to nibble!
I'm a bit fan of vampire movies, oh well...🙂😀
Absent-minded: I forget things very easily. I always leave one thing wherever I go. The last time I travelled, I brought a few clothes with me, but I left one in each place I visited, and by the end of the trip, I had lost all my clothes. There are times when I'm wearing the hat, but rummage around the house to look for it until I look myself in the mirror....😆😀
This could be quite problematic I think. 😂
I've done this with my sunglasses, which I found on my head. Also with my car keys that were in my hand.
Absentmindedness is a common thing I think, some form of it anyway. Have you ever lost something really important because of it? I mean phone, purse, house keys etc.
Yea, that's quite a problem, but I do have a reason to go shopping.🙂🙂
phone, purse, house keys innumerable times 😥😥even my passport. What a shame
Oh yeah, you'd always have new clothes I guess...Until you lost those.
Lol. Remind me never to ask you to look after something of mine.
Brilliant decision Galen 😂
I'm a knucklehead...But smart.
Haha I know you are
I meant... smart 😆😆
Ha, ha, ha. Wow! This could make for some interesting fiction works. It's a cool ability to use in times or boredom or boring people around.
I feel bored now. Actually, I wanted to make up something but this is a fun fact about me.
A bit crazy but I think funny right 😁😁😁
It's kinda funny. It's also useful! 🤣
Haha. Some do it out of street; some as a personality trait. @imabby17 always reminds me of the day we were in the street and I was desperately asking her about her little sister. "Where is Anna?" I asked repeatedly. She looked at me with crazy eyes, "Daddy, you're holding her!"
I blame Anna. She could have said, "I'm here". But she was just some month old, so... I was stressed out.
I'm not sure how much stressed you was but I really worry for Anna, honestly 😁😁
Hahaha. I was really stressed. But don't worry, Anna was always safe with me. She is 13 now and can attest to that. Her sister was also a very efficient big sister, even though she was only 5 when Anna was born. She filled the gaps when mom and dad were worn out.
Yep. Me too. In fact, I had already forgotten what I originally wanted to reply with. Memory is a horrible thing when used correctly.
Hahahaha I'm glad that I'm not the only one... :)
I meant I'm a huge fan of vampire movies @trangbaby 🙄🙄
If you end up on a date with a dude who stops at like 19 different places in one night, he's taking advantage of your quirk.
This is funny, the urgent need to separate hot and cold food but trying to remain mannered lol.
Purple thread? Interesting. I haven't heard of this superstition, I'll go look that one up.
In terms of the last quirk - hmmm you are now dubbed Count Arugula. @dswigle we might have to rethink raiding if this is the case. Being on board a boat for long periods with a vampire might deplete our raiding party before we reach England.
My quirks? Hmmm I have lots of weird ones. Recently discovered one is that in the face of imminent danger, I become completely calm and my vision clears and everything is crystal in focus. I'm not sure if this is the beginning stages of developing a super power or if it's just my mind preparing my body for death. Who knows?
It's a G-dog thing relating to something from my past, a fortuitous thing that happened after I'd had to replace a button with purple thread as it was all I could find. It stuck.
Fuck! Count Arugula cracked me up! Funny thing is I hate arugula. At least it'll be safe!
Don't worry about the Viking raids, nothing is going to get in the way of that! I'll curb my bitey ways for the duration. Mostly. Maybe.
This is a thing. It happens in certain circumstances and situations. It's a really good thing to have. Calmness creates the ability to think, plan and then act. #impressed
Don't worry, @andrastia. G-dog is contract-bound not to bite party members. Can't say the enemies are lucky for this. 😅
Lol, yeah contractual obligations prevent me from any random neck-biting bro. The raiding party is safe.
Good to know :) Thanks for clearing that up.
Mostly, maybe safe.
Otherwise, you would lose or your loot! 🤣
Probably. A lone Viking doesn't constitute a Viking hoard.
Exactly. Besides, if you kill you need to pay the wergild. Killing a raiding party is an expensive thing.
Seriously you're going to tell us that much of the story and then not reveal anything more? Really?
I know you don't like rocket, but I thought it would work well :)
Glad that the majority of the Viking crew will survive, this will Count in our favour. Have you got bezerkers yet?
Your rocket-taunt was amusing and well-received. I'm thinking of getting a Count Arugula tattoo. Just so the joke perpetuates. 😉
Bezerkersare the best. Crazy bastards. I've got a few lined up,just working out how to on-board them. Most don't know they are bezerkers!
The thread/button story is a little too real for the blockchain. Maybe oneday I'll have 1.5 beers, get super-crazy, and do a post and it'll come out.
Hahaha you're so funny.
It's not easy to practice these great habits so I'm sure it's the beginning of being an angle ♥️ 🥳🧜♀️🧚♂️
The only way to prove whether or not you're a fearless super hero by day and immortal villain by night is by tight rope walking above a shallow pool of starving sharks.
And it's doing this at both ends.
Lol @dandays yeah I'm look at that graphic moving and I'm just like Nope, I'm definitely not a fearless super hero or immortal villain then, just and average plain jane :) I'm okay with that too, weird quirks and all :)
Even trangbaby was talking about becoming an angel - I'm pretty sure that's on the "you're gonna die" end of the spectrum lol.
You got that one super power though called mother's intuition, I might wanna rethink this and DO YOU KNOW WTF JUST HAPPENED?!
I wanna call you every curse word in the book, the D word and the MF'ing AH word and whatever bad words you say in South Africa. Being the all-perceiving can't get one passed me consumer that I am I just went to your page strictly to verify Lory's name which I already knew by the way! And wtf do I get for being so got dang cool?! All I was gonna do is say something like "what are you and Lory doing today?"
EYE'fa King HATE SNAKES!
Kissy snake, worlds friendliest snake, cutesie wootsie snake, squiggly wiggley snake, I don't care what kinda snake it is they're all deadly and extremely venomous, even the virtual Rolodex kind.
Aye @dandays I'm so very very sorry that happened to you. I totally understand that feeling as I also used to totally hate snakes.
Your comments need to be framed and hung up though just because they are so freaking funny. And the Rolodex kind I must admit is the worst of the bunch!
PS Lory and I went to the Garden of Eden Forest Walk today and you wanna guess what happened? .....
There were no snakes!
Have a great day bud :)
The pressure on your cheek at the end of this message is just me, don't be alarmed, it's what happens when I appreciate compliments more than THIS.
Garden of Eden? Sounds tempting.
😘
Lol for a second there I thought "What? Did you just smack me in the face with a glove and declare a duel?"
🤣
Interesting! Purple thread. The colour of kings and queens. Very fitting!
I certainly have some oddities of my own. I have one pen on my desk that must be facing in a certain direction. I usually don't use it - I use software to keep my notes - but I must have the pen.
I do only use on burner on the stove, but I don't think that's odd. I'm positive everyone has a favourite burner that they choose to use. If I need to use a second it's the one diagonal. If I need to use a third, I will wait. And there's only one spatula I'll use; if it's dirty it gets washed.
Beyond that... eh.. I think I'm your stereotypical, generic, boring Canadian. Sorry.
(Oh, I do need to wash-rinse-repeat. If I'm unable to repeat, for whatever reason, I feel dirty all day long)
The purple thread thing is a business-shirt thing, I don't do it on my casual clothing...I'll tell the story someday, it's just difficult to do so without saying too much, more than I want to on the blockchain.
This I get. I have the same...It must go with me for meetings.
Don't even get me started on the favourite burner on the stove...Me and my burner go way back. Also...#spatulafamiliarity - It's a thing.
We're all the same in that we have weird things we d, or do not do. It's human. It'd make a good book I think, to collate a bunch of them together. Entertaining, frightening and probably a massive read!
Everyone has a favorite burner, I concur. Ps—Nothing stereotypical about a Canadian who doesn't end the sentence in Eh, Eh.
One of my
Coffee is a good habit...Not bad. 😀
I like the smell-habit also...A good practice I'd say.
I'm just writing this because I want to see @nineclaws pop out again.
A lot of people on Hive already know my bad habit. The biggest one is that I take everything as a joke. This is a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is I can sleep at night because I am not worried about my bitcoin and Ethereum in my wallet. They bad thing is sometimes other people don't think my jokes are funny.

Great comment and splendid image! That scene was cool huh? Great movie. If you think your jokes are funny then it probably doesn't matter if others do or not. I think you're the sort that wouldn't really mind? I know I don't. Most of what I say and do isn't that funny; doesn't stop me though.
@dandays is a good influence.
Takes one to know one!!
Boom!
Mic drop, and dandays leaves the building.

Some have verbiage and some have said verbiage in multiple languages. Some have verbiage and cartoons. Yesterday I found one with SO MUCH SHIT! Look 👀 Cartoons, verbiage, scenery, gorgeous day, mowed grass but it's all sleight of hand.
IF you look real close you'll see the banned hand did three years in prison:
You're a sweetheart, thank you.
The best part about not remembering anything for as long as anyone remembers is if you do it long enough they believe it's true. So much in fact, you could get away with murder cuz even your own DNA will testify: "It's not his fault, he can't remember."
I did a piece once called Sleight Of Hand. Wwaaaayy back in the steemit days. Hands can be virtual too, watch.. Pencil drawing I did of my hand holding a keychain with a magician hanging from it, see? No blending tools, just pencil. WiFi is still down, no way I can mine it out now.
But when you approach enough engagement side ways you can use that sleight of hand theory there, too, it's great. Let's say someone gets offended, you can just be "I'm kidding.. 'ha!' Ha!' Get it?' And everyone laughs it off. Or when you say the banned hand did three years in prison they think you're joking—abra kadabra!

Hahaha! I was just telling @galenkp I have yet to check out one of these. My plans for celebrating my 40th changed dramatically so I now have some free time this weekend. I'm normally always stumped with things to do. Thanks for the tag because now I can officially say I've visited a Weekend Engagement segment.
Lol so @dandays is cutting loose. 😂 Seems like once his mind his set he’s gonna speak those thoughts out loud whether you’re ready for them or not. 😅
Well, those who think Joking is a bad thing, they're so boring people 🙂😆 Life is too short to take things seriously...:)
That was funny enough to send me scrolling through your page where I found this cover image and ran aalllllll the way home.
What do you mean by pop out? Now then, about these disappointing jokes of yours, tell me one and take your time, please, I don't wanna miss it.
Confess my weird personality traits?? 😆 not sure the world, or Hive, has the time or the desire for ALL of them. 🤣 So - I'm guessing no one else is gonna be listing this one down. Deep breath - here goes...
I have a strange issue-challenge-problem with reflective surfaces. Some people pay money to go and see the future in a crystal ball. Me? I see it in the mirror, brushing my teeth. Without even trying, or wanting to. I often had NO IDEA who or what I'm looking it. Sometimes it's in colour but often black or white. Occasionally I see or meet someone and get an odd bolt of "Oh! I've SEEN her in the mirror!" run through me. There are several characters who appear time and time again. They rarely say anything. Mostly it's like a 30 second segment from some strange silent movie I'm peeking in on.
Consequently, I have done a LOT of esoteric training to try and 'control' or 'harness' the times I see this stuff. I dislike mirrors and find them intrusive. More than one houseguest has cursed the tiny mirrors in my bathroom. 😆
Do I know what it means? A wise teacher suggested it's harmless and more like I'm finely tuned into "static" of various planes of reality. A bit like a radio frequency picking up a staticky, crackling dialogue from another place and time. Only mine is mostly visual.
Bet that one surprised you!! Want more weird confessions? Bring wine. 🍷
Oh wow! This is an interesting one. I'll admit to having no understanding of these things; it's all quite new to me indeed. I wonder if @nineclaws might have something to add?
Thanks for sharing Marike, I appreciate it. Have a nice weekend.
I grew up with a mother who sees dead people, apparitions or revelations all the time, so I guess I am not that surprised.
She happens to be a mentally healthy person too. She is sharp; she just sees stuff. She says she was told once that some of us come equiped with that sort of capacity.
I believe her and I am thankful I was not born with whatever device allows her to see what she sees.
Stay away from mirrors 😁
Wow, like a weird superpower. Is it scary when.it happens
OMG! I hope you've never seen me; at least, if you have, I hope it was during one of my better moments. They're few and far between.
My wife won't throw away trash. No, you don't understand.
Dude she won't throw away trash. Unwrap a piece of gum, she'll crumble the wrapper and set it on the counter next to the sink right by the trash can.
Junk mail—shreds it and sets it on the table for me to throw in the trash. Only trash I see right now is the fortune cookie wrapper thing she set on the table just now :hold please: I'm gonna throw it away right quick and explain this phenomenon.
I'm back.
According to her and her mother, she'd play games as a kid fuckin with her parents by taking something of theirs, wrapping it up as a gift, and giving it to them. Guess it was all fun and games until one time..
As a young child, she hid her mothers grandmother's wedding ring (generationally passed down and everything else) under a napkin on the dinner table. Her plan was to hide it like that until she could wrap it up and give it back. Childsplay. Table got cleaned up.. Trash went out... #history....
Nothing. It tormented her, she won't throw away anything.

Myself, however, I'm just flawed and don't know where to start.
Err...I want to LOL but am a little discombobulated as to whether it's appropriate to LOL. Look, I'll just go with a little one...
LOL
Oh man, this must drive you bonkers! Still, I can't blame the poor lass, that great grandma's ring episode must have left some residual stuff to sort through in the old noggin.
Reminds me of another person who lost a ring.
Dryer sheets. Who the hell sets them on the dryer when there's a trash can right.next.to.it!
Uh huh..
And if you see me writing something about how I'm doing my own laundry now you know why.
Lol...Won't hurt you to do the laundry.
Laundry is good for the soul, especially if it's your favorite hoodie and it has somehow come out 3 sizes 2 small and a different color... Did I mention I'm not allowed to do the laundry anymore?
I washed a chicks bra once dude, this is like 25 years ago. I've never washed a bra since.
I had no idea they were that expensive.
U ain't shittin, those things can cost way more than a jock strap... Which when you think about it ain't logical. Victoria's secret should sell nice lookin cups, cause we deserve it.
I completely forgot the difference between wash and rinse and all that stuff the day I replaced that $60 bra.
Oh my gosh so throwing things away must have always triggered that dreadful day she experienced. Triggers are real and can have a lifetime effect on you. Bless her heart. I hope she has forgiven herself as it was just an honest mistake with fun intentions. 😟
She certainly has not which coincidentally has caused me to transform into Marvel character throw everything away guy.
Happy Saturday. Happy 40'th! Nice to see you here, it's a fun spot to hang out between Friday and Sunday in case you can't tell from the engagement level.
Every time I spLeL level I'm not sure if I'm spelling it qɐɔʞʍɐɹp and upside or what. Same with civic.
Sidetracked. What happened to your 40th plans and what were they?
Ah man. Well I hope she does sooner than later. Please send these to her from me…🤗❤️
Until then you just keep being the best Marvel character you know how to be.
Thank you! Happy Saturday to you too! Thanks it’s great to be here. I’ve really been meaning to catch one of these so glad I was tagged into it. When I opened up the post I was like Whoa 😳! I didn’t think I would have time to get through all the comments lol, there’s some really great engagement going on up in this place! 😃👀
Okay…thanks for that mini brain twisting moment with words. I can always use that on a Saturday. 🥴😵💫
I’ve read ahead and saw that you saw what was seen in my post lol. Yep, my 40th went way different than expected.
I love and get so much hyped when teams I lead achieve stuff... just makes sense. They must feel good for me to feel great!
The feeling of helping people, a team, achieve great results is amazing and very rewarding indeed. I've been a leader for a long time, 30+ years and I still get a buzz out if seeing my team's succeed!
Thanks for your great comment.
!BEER to that.. and !PIZZA =)
Thank you good sir. 😊
@galenkp! I sent you a slice of $PIZZA on behalf of @forykw.
Did you know you can spend $PIZZA on games in the $Pizza Store? (2/20)
like the business shirt quirk. So mch so that I might steal it!
Steal away my bru!
It's actually a pretty good conversation starter sometimes, if people notice.
I've heard, no white thread huh? many times. Opens conversations and when I explain often disarms people, makes them laugh and tell me one of their own quirks in return. Mostly been good value.
I can imagine and that is exactly what I was thinking when you said it. It will be cool when I am properly out of doors and back in the fray I think. Right enough everyone in work the few times I have gone in is dressed like a tramp. The downsides (upsides?) of COVID!
Tramp-dressing is Covid-approved. It's the same all over the world I guess. I've upped my style though, taken the initiative to style-it up just a little bit more: I wear pants now.
Pants is a good starter!!
When I get the hang of the pants I'll add in a shirt. Maybe.
I am working up to something shoe-like that's more than flip flops
OK here goes
I usually go to sleep at around 7pm or 8pm just so I can wake up around 1am to 2am and do nothing till around 5:30am.
I guess I'm pretty much
Permit me to use that word
I also tend to have huge lapses in concentration. As a matter of fact I seem to have forgetten something on the stove while reading this
So...You go to sleep early for about five hours then wake up and stay awake until 05:30 and then what? Get up and start your day? That's not a lot of sleep over a 24 hour period.
Omniturnal. Interesting word. ✅
Also, is it possible that your lapses in concentration are due in part to the poor sleeping habits?
It depends, if I'm going to work I get an extra one or two hours of sleep. If not, I just cruise till I feel like sleeping again
Could be the case I'll have to suspend this routine for a while and see what happens
It might be worth a little investigation, try sleeping a little longer and see how that may affect your concentration.
Will do 👍🏾
Hey
VladGalen, hope you're well man, cool topic this week, now I must remember not to overshare and divulge too much and give all myserial killingneurotic foibles away. 😁Perfectamundo (I swear to god I will never, EVER, say that again!!!)
I'm gonna use a mirror image of an odd trait I have and demonstrate the extremes of the spectrum I go through. So I'm a 'helper', this may sound like a good and positive trait, and it is - To a degree!
If someone is stuck, struggling or in need, I'm your man. I will be there, best friend, worst enemy, it doesn't matter. All positive so far, right? Let's say they are gonna be late for work, I will make myself late ensuring they are on time for their job. Let's say they are short of money for their bus fare home on a night out, I will give them mine and walk. I will listen to their woes at a time when I'm hanging on by a fraught psychological thread...
Yup, see what I mean? I am NOT claiming this as a good thing, look at Saint Steven, aren't I great... Nope, far from it, I'm an idiot.
Occasionally, I go into work for training and finish at an odd time of day, my partner usually picks me up after work but because of the often, mid-afternoon finishes, she's at work too. I will let colleagues driving to or past the area of town where I live leave without telling them I am getting a bus home. I would never, ever ask for a lift and on the odd occasions when I am offered, I say "Oh I'm ok thanks".
No clue why I cannot ask or accept, it's just always been this way, I'm a bloody idiot. My lady does not understand it at all, never has. On the odd occasion when a friend sees through it and forces me to accept help, I am embarrassed and bizarrely over grateful. (some would just say bizarre!)
Wow! Thanks, Dr. Galen, I am so looking forward to our next session.
!PIZZA
@galenkp! I sent you a slice of $PIZZA on behalf of @stevenwood.
Did you know you can trade $PIZZA on Hive-Engine, Tribaldex, or LeoDex? (6/10)
Thanks for sharing. I know people like this, maybe not as extreme, but similar. My dad was a little that way inclined, generous to a fault, and to be honest I'm not an asker myself - Feels awkward. So, I get it. The thing is though that it's ok to ask for help, to not give it all leaving one at a complete loss.
Think of it this way...If you have nothing left for you you cannot help others. You know? You have to be ok first to then help others.
Agreed, you should refrain from saying swear to God. =}
I've been using old school smiley faces lately, remember those? ;-)
Everyone is dire need of emoji's emoji's emoji's Steve and I don't think you need to spend so much time worrying about them. :~>
Ha, ha, ha. Those quirks are marvelous. Can you turn me into a vampire? That seems to be the only way I can stay up all night and do stuff I really need.
Let me see.
Talking to myself in muttering volume: I do this a lot when I need to listen to the stuff I'm thinking to write. It used to bother my ex-girlfriend because she thought I was talking to her. I had to explain it several times because she has very selective amnesia.
Making jokes about everything: I love crack some laughs. I also tend to joke about important and tragic things. It is a way to soften the blow of harsh things. But not everyone likes this kind of humour, this leads me to the next one...
Not caring about opinions: These are like pizzas. You either ordered or not. Chances are that if I've asked for an opinion, I really want to listen to it. Otherwise, well, you're wasting your time and most important, mine. Ok, not that harsh you get the point.
Being honest, not filtered: And of course, my own brand of brutal honesty. I know we need empathy and all of that; however, being brutally honest has the added benefit of living no loose ends when something needs to be said.
You keep it real, that's the gist of what your list is I think. Calls a spade a spade is a phrase that comes to mind. It's not a bad thing and I'm pretty sure you'd not do it in a way that was hurtful to others.
And yep, I can vamp ya!
Gonna look up that phrase to add it to the ol' references dictionary. I try not to hurt people. However, sometimes things like that are inevitable. And life is full of those choices.
Good that way I can use the internet. For some reason the provider is only letting us have connection at night.
Once you're vamperised the interwebs will be yours to command.
Oh, my lawd! Do I get command over the weebs and other nice stuff? Can I have an army of mindless servants? But please, don't make them Government clerks! 🤣
Mindless servants and government clerks are synonymous.
Damn! Well, at least with my mind control I can make them work better. Can you believe my grandma had to get a new ID because her had expired and she had to spend the whole morning until noon in a line for that. She's 86! People who pass 60 should get a kind of last ID that doesn't expire.
On the other hand, I can make the clerks suffer in true Vampiric Overlord fashion.
Is that why she's your ex? I expect brutal honesty.
It's just one of the reasons. The other is that I had to carry her mood and mine during the first months of the pandemic. That's some exhausting stuff.
Sounds like covid brought out her true colors.
Wassup man? What's going on over there today?
I think it brought out all of our colors.
Trying to score some Splinterlands wins and in the relationship department. Ask @nineclaws. 🤣
I'm such a slacker. I have a few cards I could rent out that I really need to do cuz I've had them forever, never played, and they're valuable.
Is that easy to do? Rent out cards? Easy enough to draw me a map?
Well, it sounds like you should.
I don't really know. Good cards I have were delegated to me by @cmplxty, so I don't have a clue about renting cards.
Oh, geez. That's right! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😘😘😘😘😘
Hmmmm...this is a tough one. One quirk I have is I leave my clothes everywhere in the house. On kitchen chairs, living room chairs, the stairs, couches in guest bedrooms, on the floor...Liza loves it, lol! Every end of the week I try to clean them up, and I have zero memory of how they got there or even when I wore them. Jeans, shirts, sweatshirts, socks...no idea. It's bizarre
How did your big day go? Did you escape the dreaded "party" today?
Ha, ha, ha. That sounds like my brother. When I lived with him, he left his clothes everywhere. It drove me nuts because I was in charge of laundry. So, I had to keep asking "is this clean or dirty?". A whole mess. 🤣
haha, yeah it's something else. Our daughter now yells at me "dad, this isn't your closet." It's always two versus one over here, lol
Well, that's a hard pill to swallow, but it works that way in marriage and with children. I don't envy the situation one bit.
Ha, it's no so bad...I just like complain, lol
Ha, ha, ha. I feel ya. Complaining is a guilty pleasure! 😂
I hope @manujune does not read this one. She is going to go on and on about some similarities.
Would you say you don't have enough space, furniture, the right size closet, wall hangers or drawers?
I want to say in my case those are to blame.
ha, yeah we definitely have space. I'm just lazy or something, lol. Maybe I do it to mess around with my wife, too
Liza loves it.
Best comment ever...Although I'd like to hear her say it before I fully commit to believing it. Lol.
Wednesday 8 is my last. Today for you right? Have a good one...Don't let them rain on your parade!
Stereotype boy: I don't like change and I mean in any form. If I was taken to a place for the first time through a route, I might never explore another route.
This is partly why I can stay in a place for so long its hard to change environment too.
Ignore the shit out:
I guess this is a really annoying one. For most of the case, I ignore every and anything.
It can be very annoying I know but it has helped me skip through a lot of hurdles that attention gives.
Sleep:
Guy!!
I think sleeping is my hobby!!
I sleep anywhere and anytime. This is what gives me joy. Like after doing everything I go to sleep.
I rather sleep than have a casual conversation even if I just woke up.
Status viewing:
This is a really bad habit my WhatsApp status is always viewed.
I don't ever have new WhatsApp status for more than 5 minutes.
Working on stopping this but I can't 😩
Sleep is a legit hobby, just want to agree with that first and foremost. ✅
Your ignore habit...Could be good at times and also detrimental; I guess the trick is knowing how to deploy it.
The WhatsApp thing. I need to know what some of those statuses are...You know I was going to ask right? Please give me an example or two. I'm curious.
Maybe you could the next one as:
Engaging with G-dog!
I forgot to add procrastination to the list. I have always wanted to do engagement league every weekend but I have not been able to do it consistently do it for weeks. I just hope this habit stops

This is an example of one. It doesn't have to make sense
Procrastination is my enemy; I treat it as such.
I need to learn this. I guess I will gain so much from having this relationship with it
If you can overcome it you'll find your opportunities open right up.
I pray so
Lack of sleep can seriously affect your mental and physical health, but did you know it may also affect your productivity?
So yea, Sleep is a good habit :) You're good at it, as many people find it difficult to have a good sleep :))
This is my strongest habit...
I didn't know Status viewing could also be considered a bad habit. But if it is I'm definitely on this train.
Most times the only thing I do on whatsapp is to Hunt for status till my data is low
Guy... Even when I have things to do, I still find a way to view status
God will help us 😂
For me, I find that my must-improved habit is hot-tempered personality. Before I was easily angry with what did not happen as I wish. It can hurt others and harm my feelings too. Then older I get, more therapies I have found to improve my character. Maybe because I get calmer and more confortable, I have had more healthy relationships. So I am happy to see my changes and I always remind me of practicing it to be better and better. In nature, I found out a kind of flower which is special for me due to its symbol: Water Lily. I really love Water Lily since it is very calm and strong and full of positive energies. I see it as a reminder for me to keep myself be alike that.
Thanks for sharing a very interesting topic. I am happy to share my story here. 😊
This is a photo I took few months ago. Hope you enjoy it.
The ability to manage ones temper is a great skill and habit which I think can lead to better outcomes as you've found. Often when ones temper is raised it removes the ability for rational thought, or at least lessens it.
Thanks for sharing and for the lovely picture.
Hahaa...girl we have something in common now...!! I guess a hot-tempered personality is affected by hot weather 😆🤣😆🤣 Seems scientific and logical, right 😀
Yea, lhe older we get, the cooler we become. Love the purple water lily em ♥️♥️
Haha yess chị. Thanks sis for your nice comment 😊
Learning to rope a temper in, when others are starting to let go and show, glad you found a way to ignore!
Thank you so much. Breathing deeply is one of the most effective ways to help me calm down. And I use it all the time I feel angry.
When angry I try switch off to whatever it is, avoidance is a good coping mechanism, or take the wrath of the blow out.... 🙃
It is a way. I hope that makes you better. Sometimes I do the same.
Being able to control ourselves is a very important trait. Lashing out can cause pain to others and to ourselves. Good to know you're on a better path regarding that aspect of life. Lovely picture totally in tune with the harmony of your comment. 😄
Making up a habit would be fun, but I'll go with true confession. Since I've been working from home for well over a year now, and I have a stressful job, I do the last half hour or so of the day with a glass of wine next to me. 5:00 is happy hour. I usually work until 5:30 or 6:00, and it makes the end of the day very pleasant!

Reminds me of a professor of mine who openly admitted that she would have a little bit of booze to start the day. It was an 8am class.
We fought on her behalf and luckily managed to get the timeslot changed to a later in the day section. I suppose the wine store near her wasn't too happy after she decreased the amount of bottles she would buy from them usually 😆
Oh well, I think things did work out in their own positive ways
Whoa! That is a little early in the day to get started on the hooch! Ha ha ha.
I'm declaring this a legit habit - I have a legit-habit declaration license.
Also, just so you know, I'm something like +7.5 hours ahead of you and would be totally fine if your 17:00 happy hour began at my 17:00!
Heh! So glad you have a legit-habit declaration license, @galenkp. Anytime I need validation for something slightly sketchy, I know who to run to.
I'll be happy to endorse your activities and actions with my legit-habit declaration license. IT's actually quite empowering to make use of it.
That Funky Monkey
Now that sounds a great way to end a day, toil to 17h00 then sip your way through the last hour of the day!
I have to say, it really does rock. I feel so happy by the time I close down for the day!
Taking the load off during happy hour sure makes good sense, a time to relax!
Oh, my... I could get behind this habit. But I don't have a stressful job! 🤣
Having a stressful job is not required for this particular habit. Heh heh. It's just a happy little self-indulgence. Now, some people wouldn't be able to function for the rest of the evening, but not me. I cook, eat dinner, exercise, jump on Hive, write, go to bed at midnight and pop out of bed and start the routine over 6 or 7 hours later!
Ha, ha, ha. I also don't have money for wine. But I get the point. It will be on my list of things to do when I get my financial situation out of its slumber!
One thing is that we all have good and also bad habits. To me, the one I have is just too simple. It is not like others that I have seen here so far. When I'm deeply asleep, and there is a footstep outside, I always have the feelings and also when you are closed to me when I'm deeply asleep, I also have the feelings that someone is beside me.
Ah ok, this is interesting. You mean like a ghost of close to you or do you mean you have the feeling someone may be trying to enter your abode?
Yes, I will have the feelings that someone is trying to enter my abide.
Best to be prepared for that; know what to do and have the ability and mindset to do it.
I wonder what happened to that one guy with the remarkably well written contest submission.
Hmm which? (There were so many.)
Member that hot/cold game as a kid? Well you're burning right now you're so hot.
It's another great topic this weekend. This vampire thing, do they exist in the eral world. I think vampires are just novel characters imagined by writers, columnists or novelists.
What I could quirk at is simple. I love food, good native recipe I mean but I detest sweat from another person body. That would make me take a bath for an umpteenth time.
I'd say this is a fair comment indeed.
Oh, and yeah vampires exist.
Shit I like that purple thread story. I put my socks and shoes on in ORDER every time. Goes back to the day I went 4 for 4 in a High School baseball game and I could clearly remember that I put my left sock on first. I still do.
I always get on my motorcycle from the left. That goes back to my childhood days and horses. You ALWAYS get on from the left. You will notice that in cowboy and indian movies that all the natives get on from the left too. The horse doesn't care, and it's unlikely that native people did so. BUT ANYBODY THAT LEARNS TO RIDE NOW MOUNTS FROM THE LEFT. Goes back a couple thousand years to the Romans to what I know.
I actually do quite a few things the same way every time. It's not that I'm superstitious, but if it works don't fix it.
Superstitions or habits can be powerful things right?
I actually knew that thing with the mount from the left thing. I did the same when I rode, on motorbikes and even when I raced go-karts. Left side.
I hope you've been well mate. Thanks for your continued support. Means a lot.
Some people call it inside out. I call it right side in. It's how I wear my socks, Tom.
You just reminded me. I might conceivably have on possible small quirk. Teensy really.
I don't care if my socks are inside out or right side in, long as both are the same. I have big feet in a small feet world and so I turn my socks other side out every time I take them off. So when I launder them I don't even try to turn them. I match them carefully but don't even bother a bit with right side either way :)
I think we might have a guy right here on this thread that doesn't match his socks, just puts on any two every day. @wwwiebe I know for an absolute fact that he takes pictures of fire hydrants and man hole covers, sometimes he doesn't even use a camera.
I didn't know we could still say that in 2021.
Thank you. Man I just saw a picture of a snake and really needed that laugh.
lol. Taking pictures of fire hydrants is not a quirk, it's a way of life!
And yeah, guilty about the socks. As long as my feet are covered I'm content.
My good habit is being calm which is also my bad habit. It’s my good habit because when in trouble I have learnt not to panic and this has saved me lot because I always keep things under control and look for a solution. This has over time hindered me from being expressive when needed because I assume everything can be solve with being calm, and people tend to take advantage of your calmness. Because I have tilted too much to the calm side and can’t be loudly expressive, when I notice people are taking advantage of me I tend to stay away from them or avoid them totally. Because I don’t know how to not be calm.
You have a goodbad habit? I like this juxtaposition. 😆
I understand your comments completely. Being calm is a strength as it allows one to think with greater clarity however it could also give rise to apathy which isn't always the best way to be. Still, it seems you're aware of it's strengths and weaknesses and act accordingly.
A nice comment, thank you for getting involved.
I open tabs and sometimes don't even look at them for months... I recently realized I was doing it with Hive posts too. If you are reading this, and are a victim, I apologize!
Why is it you think you do so?
Because I want to look at too many things. And then there's even more the next day!!!
What's the work-around? Is there one?
I could just bookmark them but that's basically the same thing. Maybe just try to read less?
Hmm, that's an option. I guess read faster also? Employ a post-reader? A few options there.
I didn't know there were post readers! Is there a download for computer, for one that can switch from one tab to another?
The answer is: simply close the tabs
My gold star knows no bounds!!!!
BEHOLD!!!!!!!!
I can only answer one more question in this comment section. For fear that I draw too much attention to my newly acquired gift.
It must be used sparingly, dammit Dreemie!!!!!!!
Ok ok!!!!! Sparingly.
One more question for the day. And then.... SILENCE.
I'm off to find it!!!!
Whe I first read this I thought you meant bar tabs like 'dang, this dude's rich.'
No, really. I don't have a drinking problem.
🤣🤣🤣 do they even still do bar tabs??? I never even thought of that reference!
I'm from Los Angeles and now that you mention it, I think I'm guilty for referencing a line outta Hollywood.
lol it does sound familiar!!!
I usually get mad at everything when I'm starving. the good thing is that later I will apologize to everyone for what I did and everyone understands that. That's not good in my character. I am considered by everyone to be a cheerful, enthusiastic and sociable person
Hmm, this is something many probably do although I'd say that that it's best to treat people a little better lest they decide you're not worthy of their time? Maybe keep some emergency supplies with you, some fruit or nuts, so you can have a quick snack to circumvent the getting mad scenario. I'm sure you've got some strategies right? How do you handle it?
bThank you for sure I will try your method
Maybe your blood-sugar levels need looked at or have you ever been tested for hypoglycemia?
Thank you, I'll go check it out and let everyone know the results
I wanna tag #satire right here so bad but if I don't write something else like you're reading right now the confusion level is likely to excel.
Ok, well.. that should clear things up said no one.

That is not normal, dude... I'm sorry I ever wasted time speaking to you!!! 🤣
The superstitious things are often the weirdest, we fall into a habit of action and it just becomes 'what we do, part of who we are'. I have many eccentric foibles, usually masked enough so not too many people notice, they are kinda reassuring, they make me, me, I'm pretty cool with that.
I would love it if you would rip off the button at the till though, immediately after purchase, I can just imagine the confused shop assistants face, trying to process what just happened. 😀
Yeah, it's a bit odd but then that's my modus operandi I suppose. Do I get points for knowing how to sew buttons though? Surely that's a few brownie points right there?!
Yes. A man that sews. I am not sure if I should swoon or slap you for being like a little Nancy.
You know I am kidding. If I don't put that disclaimer in, you may think I mean it. :)
The swoon is an acceptable reaction.
I'll take the slap also, like a man.
In truth I can't sew per se...I can put a button on and darn a sock if I need to. And that's about it. The swoon is still appropriate though.
You are so easy. I got to see some wild horses today on the island. It was perfect weather and the girl and I built a bonfire and had marshmallows roasting - I burnt my first one. It was a 3alarm fire.
I used all the limbs from the storm to have the bonfire. Now the weather is perfect and the shore is heavenly tonight.
Had me at bonfire and wild horses. So cool. Seems like the shore is where the party is at!
Indeed. Quite the peaceful/quiet type. :)
Oh, wait.... I just swooned and you missed it.
Dang it. Can you do it again?
Sorry. It isn't something you can do on-demand. 🙂
I can sew on a button (with no style points for artistry) or put the hem in a pair of pants (am I the only one to remember un hemmed pants?) but that's not really sewing, Is it?
I'm pretty sure my sausage fingers would no longer fit in a thimble but I used to be fascinated by them when I was a kid. And I always try to be thimble in Monopoly.
What's the superstition with the purple colour? I love purple colour too but I don't take it with the seriousness you exhibit here.
@stevenwood !! It's you. I can never catch up with you. I think we should all do the purple thread and when people look at us weirdly, send them G-Dawgs phone number.
I just realized your engagement! 😱😱😱😱😱😱
Well done... teach me!
You mean the number of comments? It's a few huh? I like bring people together and having a little fun; seems the community agrees. I've been doing the #weekend-engagememt topic for 65 weeks now, all with pleasing engagement. Last week 950+ and the week before 1000+. It's great how people come along and engage with each other. Thanks for your comment.
That's fricking teachable I would say...
I feel it... I am trying to create something more at @atexoras.pub... ideas/comments would be appreciated.
I'll take a look.
As far as what I do being teachable? Yes it is. I've been around since June 2017 and all I've done is post consistently and make a lot of valued relationships through relevant outbound comments, that is, comments on other people's posts, and replying in a timely fashion and with validity when people leave comments for me. It's not a secret, just a lot of effort. But the reward has been enjoyment.
I appreciate your comment and I'm happy to look into how I may be able to assist you if possible. I've been doing that for communities lately with another coming up Tuesday next week.
@dandays
Gina just told me I started following you.
Gina has been smoking crack lately and I need to get her into a 12 step program.
I was already following you.
I may or may not have inadvertently bumped something on my phone and Gina is telling the truth (don't get cocky GINA!!! I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE)
I'm just wondering if I actually unfollowed you by said bump.
If you see the unfollow follow unfollow follow shuffle for the next few minutes.... Ignore. 😘
My phone does that for me. I hit unfollow and then I get a snarky message from someone or a tearful plea... okay, mostly snarky. Unfollow? Really?
Gina is on crack. Agreed.
Someone muted me yesterday. Really? I was gutted. I delegate to them. I up them 100% on posts. And they reward me by muting my mouth?
Oh, wait. I got unmuted a minute ago.
Gina is on crack.
oh my gosh - i got muted from someone who was supporting me so well - and I thought well.... things like this happen, I guess!
we never know when something offends or rubs people the wrong way - or we are just plain annoying! hahahaha
but muted me twice! LOL from two separate accounts. hehehehe
I tried to let it be like - water off a duck's back you know??? but - even though we SAY - oh who cares for the downvote, the mute, the unfollow.... it still is like - aw man??? really?
like - me????
I'm so silly and try to be encouraging and have fun! hehehe but maybe that person didn't like so much silly!!!
My husband says "yuck for some, yum for others"
hehehee so I have to just take a deep breath and say - correct! who knows - maybe it WAS a mistake??? LOL (i dont' think so hahaah) but maybe they will miss my CHEERY GLOWY ATTITUDE in a bit and come back. hahahahaha
Gina - we love you - but you need rehab, my dear. Crack kills.
Hahaha! OMG!
It was funny because I delegated hive to her when she first came. But, still, I was shocked. Gina has a sense of humor.
Deep breathing helps. Did you see Hive made us all rich for a few minutes? :)
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat... I missed it!!!!!!!!
oh man!!!!!!!! well i'm glad I did - cuz I prayed for a miracle recently hahahaha
and if that happened - and then went away, I probably would have cried!!! LOL (sincerely!!!)
so I'm glad I missed it, if it wasn't meant to last hehehehehe
but out of curiosity... how much richer did it make us? hahaha
Hive was 1.03 a share.
We are still rich! It is 99 cents a share
WE ARE STILL RICH!!!
oh my goodness!!!!!!! how did that happen?!?!?! hahahahahaha
oh my!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what is this!!! hahahahaha
I remember back in 2016 (sounds like so long ago when you say it like that 😅) when I got my first mute and unfollow. I starred at the phone like this 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😐😐😐😐😐😐😐 for like five minutes in unbelief. I was so offended because it was someone who was supporting me and I was supporting them. It sucks because there is no explanation and you could go on for DAYS trying to guess what it was you did or said.
So as time went on I learned to just say "ah too bad" and just keep it moving. It was taking too much of my time and energy and mental health worrying about it too much. Now when that happens I appreciate people who mute or unfollow because I'd rather them do that instead of downvoting me. 🤷🏽♀️
You may mute me but my voice lives on! 💪🏽🎤
I still make all those faces when they mute me, happened twice in the same day a couple weeks ago. Apparently some people are way too soft about Bible Belt jokes. Sissy's. What the hell kinda people get offended by jokes anyway? Soft ass sissy people, that's who, the kind that still live at home and they're 38 and single and know when the next X-Box will be released.
I'm not angry at all can you tell?
Cool to know you make those same faces. 😌
Uhmmm, welllll, that was quite specific 🤣. Let’s see how do I say this? 🤔…
You’re not quite over it like you think. 😂😂😂
I appreciate this explanation, really. I never noticed an unfollow but I did see the second follow. 🤷🏼
ok so you saw the first too!!! good.
hehehe
and i still see myself as following you - so I think the shuffle didn't need to happen.
I am prepared for that.
0:41 But I am not religious so maybe a cross is not a best choice for weapon...Well fuck. this is gonna be hard...
Lol.
You are? I am scamping for my life now. Vampires are bloodsuckers the swampy flukes. 🤣😂
I think that I will pretend to be vampire as well. just in case...
Ahahah. You're human. I am not afraid of humans as much as I will be afraid of vampires.
I have this odd attraction to a hot dog giphy...
Ok...
I confess...
Any Giphy... Lmao
You love the wiener and red sauce. (ketchup)
I really do like the dogs with the cheese infused in em.
But they do not like me.
Makes me hot burpy, regurgy...
Now I want me a hot dog bro!
Mee Too.!!
But 9pm here. And I have learned the hard way too many times.
Waking up at 3am drowning in your own vomit is very...
Rock Star-ish.
Ain't no way to go bro.
Water boarded by your own dysfunctional digestive system...
Speaking of rockstars, check this one out.

Good read. I like snakes , spiders and all the creepy crawlies.

I know how you feel about creepy clowns... Hehheheh
Gave her my...
Huge Upvote...
$.05 cents.
Really well done post with great photos. My fave kind. I am really enjoying @scubahead 's video posts of the badger narrow boat lifestyle.
I like the snake posts by @hippie-witha-gun also. No fear of snakes in him. LoL
Forgive Me Father Gee-Doggity Dog..!
On this confessions #weekend-engagement.
I would like to ask you oh great holy dog from down under..: "Forgive me father for I have sinned, it has been 20,088.5 days since my last confession." (Birth)
These are my sins..:
I am guilty of lust, greed, sloth, envy, pride, wrath, glutony...
I am batting a 1000 here in the sin department, Father Dog Coach and friend of mine...
But right now I gotta run, time to take my @pooky-jax out on our weekly lunch date. Kudos to her for pre-search looking up the 7 deadly sins. I could only remember 4 of em.
The gifmeister strikes again.
Projectile vomit...I heard the US military are looking to weaponise it.
I.K.R.
I know right...
Something like a train wreck. Just hard to look away. And you end up throwing up in your mouth a little too. Heheheh
Lol...And thanks for the clarification on what IKR means. HNI (Had no idea.)
You knew...
LoL

The hot food touching cold is a thing, finally someone understand, who wants a hot salad and this mostly happens when I’m really hungry. And then I’m like yeah thanks this “hot” salad slaps I didn’t know we have options to reheat them😂😂
It's not very good right? I don't understand why it happens as it seems a pretty logical logical thing not to do.
Exactly
@nineclaws
i think this comment is for you hahahaa
i had Gina notify me of your comment - and i came here - but now i can't find it LOLOLOL

I actually just learned about it and stumbled UPon the post the other day! IT WAS AWESOME!!! 👏 It had over 1,200 comments in the post!
#CometWeek, so far is over 900 comments, and I’m pretty happy with that... but 1,200! That’s nothing short of A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! 🤩
I’m guessing you like to hang out there over the weekend right?
I’ll have to check it out!
It does sound fun and I’m always one for some fun... as you can tell! Tonight was more than our fair share of that! LoL! 🤪
